  1. Then why won't Republicans do anything about it? Besides keeping it violent by trying to keep the poor and disadvantaged desperate?
  2. First off, state lines don't stop guns. Secondly, Trump's talking point about Chicago having the country's toughest gun laws? Would you believe, fake news? Chicago itself has some tough laws — there is an assault-weapons ban in Cook County, for example. But it's not true that Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country. At one point, it did have much tougher laws — it had banned handguns in the city limits, but a 2008 Supreme Court ruling declared that ban unconstitutional, and a 2010 ruling reaffirmed that. The city also had had a gun registry program since 1968, but ended it in 2013 when the state passed a law allowing the concealed carry of weapons.
  3. You are basically telling the NRA and the politicians who are kneeling before them they are full of shit. That more guns doesn't make things safer. Practice what they preach and see what happens. I will offer my thoughts and prayers in advance.
  4. What they should do is lower the price of concessions. It worked like a charm for the Falcons. They already do it for $1 dog Wednesday. Make a beer $5, you are still turning a huge profit. The tickets are pretty much minor league priced. Make the concessions minor league priced until you field a major league team. From the sounds of Sullivan's article about how JR feels, it doesn't appear they have many tickets sold for the rest of the season.
  5. Oh, I can see it. It's the right that can't see it. They don't want to be shot, so no guns. Yet they claim we are all safer if there are more guns. NRA campaign contributions are a hell of a thing.
  6. He tried. His hands were tied. The little he was able to do, including a provision about mental health, Trump repealed it. It pretty much is a Republican thing.
  7. It wouldn't totally prevent it, but maybe the amount of times it happens goes down. Doing nothing hasn't helped. More guns isn't going to help. If it was the answer, they wouldn't be checking people for guns at Trump rallies and at Pence's speech at the NRA convention. If more guns was the answer, and made things safer, why would they ban them at these events?
  8. Has anyone here ever attended a Trump rally? If so, do they check for guns?
  9. No, now it's kind of late. New news cycle. Besides, that was all a hoax.
  10. Yes, and if Russell is half the player he is supposed to be, he can be flipped as well.
  11. Thoughts and prayers, way too soon to talk about any kind of gun control. What will work is if everyone is packing. Then no one will ever get shot. More guns, less shooting. Very logical.
  12. Can someone point to the law democrats are responsible for according to Trump that forces the break up of families, or is that just more dishonest, fake news the media has him on camera saying?
  13. If it is a hitter, no question, I agree. I would take Mize or Singer also. Madrigal is someone I believe can’t be screwed up. If he were 4 or 5 inches taller, he would probably be the consensus 1-1. This is baseball, he isn’t a 6’3” power forward or a 180 lb middle linebacker, take the baseball player.
  14. I really am not too sure. I guess when it loads up, it loads up a little more on the debit card than the actual price of the ticket, so maybe that way. And I don't see how they could even buy a 3D movie. On my app, it always says they are unavailable anyways. I wouldn't be so stupid to buy popcorn and lose a $9.95 see all the movies you want deal, especially since you load up on the Stubs program anyway and get free stuff.
  15. I hope it warms up by game time. It is freezing in downtown Chicago right now.
  16. They said it was some sort of fraud prevention. That I was "chosen" for the beta group. They are saying people are using it to watch 3D movies, seeing the same movie twice, using it for concessions. I have only used it for the correct movie and had no idea you, at least for a while could see the same movie twice. Personally, I think it's a way they are trying to keep people from seeing more movies, especially crap you would never even consider without the pass, since it costs them every time and they supposedly have a cash crunch right now. It only inspired me to use it more.
  17. Any other Moviepass people out there have to take pictures of their tickets now? WTF.
  18. I saw some highlights of this guy. Obviously not as athletic as most of the top guys, but he knows what he is doing on a basketball court.
  19. According to this, the US is ranked 37th in health care. http://thepatientfactor.com/canadian-health-care-information/world-health-organizations-ranking-of-the-worlds-health-systems/
  20. So let me guess, you don't get any of your information from what anyone could consider biased journalism.
  21. According to this, uninsured are twice as likely to die in the ER than insured. I thought everything is the same. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/uninsured-twice-as-likely-to-die-in-er/
  22. If the Sox do get a top 5 pick again, that will mean they have had a 3, an 8, a 10, an 11, a 4 and a top 5 in 6 years, and still would have an average at best system without the trades. Larry Himes rebuilt the White Sox with a 5, 7, 10, and 4.
  23. Yes he did. Supposedly you get the same care. LMAO. There was a 60 minutes story on this. Some hospital in LA used to dump the non insured a block or so away from another hospital, And I am sure the people with no insurance or bad insurance get the same care as those with the best plans. Just ask the mom who has a United Health plan that denied her liver transplant. If what he claims is true, why have insurance?
