QUOTE (chw42 @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) Who made that up? It make absolutely no sense. Way worse than Hot Fire...or Cold Ice. Call him the Mexicutioner I know Garza does not like it and De Aza isn't Mexican but I still think it is a cool nickname. Can we just stick with DeAza?

QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) 1-13 with 7K in his career vs Max. Tough match-up for Morel given Max's stuff. Escobar may have been a better match-up he looked ok Sunday.

Gotta say Robin does not mix the lineup around. Absolutely perfect weather for baseball.

I guarantee you Albert will hit at least one home run and drive four tomorrow and Wednesday.

Just flipped in after only seeing the first inning. Nice surprise.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) I put it in a different thread, but I think I found two to three realistic teams that could be interested in Peavy without the Sox picking up a decent amount of money. Most of the usual suspects are either capped (BOS,NYY) don't need starting pitching enough to spend that kind of money (teams like WAS or TEX), already overspent (like ANA), don't spend that kind of money (TOR), would be looking for bats first (SFG), or just don't make any sense (about half of baseball). It think the Dodgers were the most realistic team I could find. Detroit, Cardinals, and Brewers are good fits in my mind if they have rotation spots open.

Imagine how good Tampa would be if they had hit on that pick. -
GT 5-13-12 Sox vs Royals, 1:10pm

Just got back from the game. The white sox offense will keep them from winning anything. -
Cub bullpen is sox 2007 bad

QUOTE (Jake @ May 11, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Might as well give him a few token innings or something out there now so it isn't a complete shock to the system. Why risk injury by giving him more innings than needed? Unnecessary innings do not help.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) Not everyone goes out and parties, but ALOT do. Walk down Lincoln ave on a saturday night. and how many of them make $6M/yr and are the face of a major sports franchise. Having fun and partying is fine being a douche while doing it, not so much. Go to the club and hang out with adults and learn to handle your alcohol. That is all anyone is asking.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) Supposedly Gardenhire is getting fired or forced to resign the next few days. Kind of sad, after what he accomplished. 90% of it is Bill Smith's fault, although I'm sure somewhere along the way every manager's message becomes a little stale. Then maybe Ventura will say, I love the White Sox but this managing thing is just not for me. I'd rather be like Denis Savard and pick up Ron from the airport.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 10, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) MLB's Rules Committee has approved a proposal to make the "fake the throw to third, then throw to first" pickoff play a balk. http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/...-3rd-trick-move I think the only pitcher I've ever seen have repeated success at that was Black Jack McDowell. The cub/Sox game when it worked and killed a cub rally was great. Grace or sosa were victimized.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 9, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) It's a Cleveland Steamer night! I love it when you analyze. About time the hits are coming. -
QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) 2 outs, runner on 3rd, and you pitch to Babe LaHair and not Ian Stewart? Ouch In the bottom of the 7th none the less. Real dumb move. The cubs starters are amazing right now.
-
Oh Kerry Wood you are fun to watch.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) Ramirez has been worse than Viciedo. Far and away, the biggest key for the offense is hoping that the two Cubans pick it up like their track record suggests they will. If your 7 and 8 hitters can do some damage, you can survive with Morel in the 9th spot. Bottom third of the order was 0-19 with a walk today.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) Three games now this year that you can say Rios won for the Sox. I think Rios needs to be looked at for what he is and that is a nice MLB outfielder with good skill set but not overwhelming in any phase of the game. If we take money out of the equation, he could be a nice piece. I will say for third time in a matter of minutes, the bullpen decision making process is abysmal. Nice win though.
-
Reed should be give nth job until he fails and should have six weeks ago. He actually has a career history of succeeding at it.
-
Nice win I really hope whoever is making the bullpen decisions wakes the f*** up as poor bullpen management is killing this team. Maybe Coop is doing it and guillen realized Coop is not real good at it. No reason to give Santiago that job over Reed who has been doing it much longer.
-
Glad I was wrong. I really want to like Rios as he could be a fun guy to watch.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) Uh oh, we get Perez vs Rios Hell throw a belt high fastball that will be popped to first.
-
Whoever is running this bullpen needs to change their way of thinking. Would be nice if the offense could take advantage of opportunities.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) Trying to get the CG shutout for Danks screwed Ventura there. He should have left well enough alone and not pushed him and taken him out of the game with only good thoughts to rest upon. Now he doesn't even have a Win to show for that effort. Danks already had mid 90's in terms of pitch count, did we really want to put him in the 115-125 range to get a CG with how shaky he's been this season? Danks is a whole other state of issues when it comes to stamina he HD a nice game after 7 consider yourself lucky and pull him Ventura not learning from mistakes.
