  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Seems like people are thinking about the bad too much and not focusing on the fact that Dunn looked great today. Dunn's ceiling to help this team is infinitely greater than our 2b and 3b. Watch his set up. He is not dropping the bat so far down before the pitcher is coming set. he is loaded up to this year which he never was last year. In regard to the umpiring, hitters need to adjust. How was it that the other 7 guys could handle yet Morel and Beckham could not. Overall I think it was a good game that the Sox did not catch any breaks on.
  2. Beckham and Morel struck out seven times today. I know it is one game but not looking like a new philosophy is in place.
  3. Maybe are a seeing a new philosophy in using the bullpen. Do not overwork the starters and get the guys in situations to succeed. Also a little scouting as to what happens when the Rangers see a guy for the fourth time through the lineup.
  4. Have yourself a day Brent Morel 4 K's and an iffy DP attempt that cost a run.
  5. Morel not having a good day I am dipping in and out of this game at work with tv and computer, no volume. Is Robin barking about the zone at all?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) I really wish we had a better option for #2 hitter. It hurts to see that really all the options are so bad at getting on base for Dunn/Konerko. I feel like that's going to be a common theme all year. De Aza should do fine as a leadoff hitter. Beckham and Ramirez should be able to fill that hole but neither can. I think by default Beckham or Rios will end up there if Dunn remains in the three hole.
  7. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) Getting beat by a junkballer. What new? Beat is putting it mildly. Although Ramirez and Morel look god awful the remainder just can't get a timely hit.
  8. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) definitely. The most popular guy in town is always the 4th OF? Especially the old, bad ones This team for years has been baffled by the 88 MPH fastball. Fukodome had a nice spring and is a good early season hitter. With Rios and Viciedo both being RHH there should be plenty of time to get him in there. He can hit soft tossers and after this game will not play in either of the next two.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Lot of Fuko support in the thread. Who do you want him to play for? I want DeAza in there. That leaves Rios. He should face RHP and play for either Rios or Viciedo.
  10. Lewis at 70 pitches already. I guess that is the benefit of striking out seven times in four innings. Morel and Ramirez look god awful.
  11. Kind of sad when a guy that does not throw above 90 MPH can strike out 6 of your first 12 batters.
  12. I was being a smartass previously with Morel but a bunt there by Beckham wouldn't have been a bad idea.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) Viciedo XBH here. Book it. now what.
  14. Danks needs to get the ball down in the zone, everything is up. That will eventually hurt him as they are not popping those pitches up on the infield.
  15. Pop out to third and every infielder will have a pop up. 3 infield pop ups, 2 K's and a caught stealing....
  16. Weather not an issue today Stone Pony. I have not been this excited for an Opener since Yaz took Catfish deep to open the 74 season. Mercy let's play ball. Hotter than a Sam McDowell fastball in the booth today.
  17. Free extra innings on direct TV is always a bonus. Got home to se wgn back to see cubs lose.
  18. Adam LARoche should be released after the game today. He absolutely blew two great opportunities.
  19. Verlander at 108 pitches with two lefties coming up in the 9th wonder if he stays in the game.
