  1. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) Sadly if he gets a career threatening problem from it, the Hawks future for years to come is in dire straits. I didn't say it was good idea, just that, that could have been going through his head. He played fine so I assume this is more precautionary.
  2. If everything goes right (2010 Bears right) for the Sox and everything goes wrong (2011 Indianapolis Colts wrong) the Sox have the ability to win the division. I am not certain any other team in the division can say this. The White Sox are a 78 win team that could just as easily win 90 games as they are to lose 90 games. I personally think there is some Tiger regression now we need some White Sox improvement.
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) If he knew he had one and hid symptoms to keep playing he's a complete idiot. I really hope that isn't the case. Sadly if he thought he sat out the last four games and the Hawks lost, the season would be in real dire straits.....
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) I wish I could have seen a game there. As biased as a person could be, I will say it was better than Wrigley. The underneath was similar in that you came up to the field and it just exploded in front of you. All you saw was green. The place looking huge as well. The bigger difference in the two is the size of the place. Wrigley's concourses and are cramped and while Comiskey was larger and allowed for room to walk. Also Comiskey smelled of beer and food. The concourse of Comiskey allowed you to walk around the entire underneath of the stadium. It just seemed large compared to Wrigely. I visited both often when I was young and Wrigley seemed small with the buildings behind it and tucked in the neighborhood. You saw the lights of Comiskey as you drove in whether on the Ryan or the Stevenson. It was the Baseball Palace of the World.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 07:57 AM) Managing the bullpen? Maybe. Knowing when to pull Jake Peavy and Philip Humber as starters? Awful, awful, awful. Maybe the worst decision making I've ever seen by a Sox manager. The worst part was he was in love with the L/R match-up for pitchers but than would never pinch hit to use it to his advantage.
  6. What a cool place that joint was can't beat outfield upperdeck.
  7. Most of this site is giving up on the White Sox, not me, yet.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Funny that you're not sold on Fister because he had a terrific half season when that's all Jimenez has ever had in his career. I am not sold on either.
  9. Here is what I hang my hat on as to why I think this team will be fine. Nothing went right last year except Konerko and Humber. Can they repeat, maybe. Guillen became a distraction. My thoughts you get a bump in productivity from everyone from this. The replaced players are replaceable and their replacements could be better. Dunn, Rios and Peavy can become Dunn and Peavy and maybe Rios earns his money. Morel, Flowers, Beckham, DeAza, Lillibridge, Viciado, Reed and Sale become solid MLB players and potentially progress. Last year's team had nothing go right and they were almost .500
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) The "First teams" started last week because they're heading to Japan a week before the US-based opening day. I don't know about other teams. Chicago media was blowing the dale, Jed, Theo trinity and then saw the sox don't report until Tuesday.
  11. Anyone know why the White Sox are the last team to report to spring traing and why their first full workout is 5 days after the first teams workout. This is almost one week less of spring training than some teams are getting. For a team that has started as slowly as they have maybe a late start is not the best thing.
  12. the three swings to fix rios worked for a month or two.
  13. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) I share my surname with a White Sox pitcher. This was a big promotion in the 60's as well I think. Cheap bastards waited to screw Quentin Taratino.
  14. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Feb 17, 2012 -> 02:39 AM) Strickland: Those close to Ryan Miller tell me he'd waive his modified NTC to go to Chicago #Blackhawks #Sabres #NHL http://www.truehockey.com/articles/Picture...r-in-Chicago-01 I wouldn't do a Kane for Miller swap though.. no way. The guy that wrote that was on the SCORE this morning. He said that Miller is miserable and could be had. At 31 he is not young but also has a few good years left and thinks Chicago could revitalize him. He said that Miller with waive the NTC for the Hawks as they are as highly thought of as any franchise in hockey. He felt Kane was way to much to give up Miller. He also thought that while Kane's stock is down other GM's know what he is, so moving him for prime return is an option.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 08:40 AM) On average, when a country is playing a world cup soccer game, stock trading volume in that country falls ~45%. That'll explain the poor economic situation in regard to the EU, pay attention to the important s***. Wanna release bad economic news wait for the day before you have a WC match....does this cover qualifiers?
  16. As a novelty if the ISFA bought Wrigley Field would you go see the White Sox play a team like the Twins at Wrigley if the cub organization did not profit? I think I would.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 14, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) My only issue would be Cubs fans defacing the decorations around the park or stealing souvenirs. Like killing the ivy in center field. Still a great move to this day.
  18. I have never liked Kane I am not sure why I just haven't. The off ice things rub me the wrong way. He is on the first team PP so his points should always be high and he has benefited from Toews. He always seems to be injured as well.
  19. cubs fans must scour the internet to make certain every baseball conversation revolves around them.
  20. I don't think the SOx will get the concession or ticket money but I think JR owns the parking and gets that money does he not.
  21. Does the large Cuban population in South Florida have the disposable income to attend Marlin baseball games that they are using this readily disposable income on now?
  22. Saw PJ20 last summer. The thing I dislike about them is with their library of music they seem to strive to play s*** people do not know. Then Cornell comes out for what seemed like an eternity.... Yield is a great album. AiC would have been just as big as PJ if they could have stayed around. Kind of like the GnR although I hear GnR is actually very good in concert nowadays if you can stay awake until 2 in the morning for the start of the show.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 09:20 AM) They have got to stand up for each other. You can't let you captain be the teams punching bag They had to put Mayers on the first line to try and stop it. That is not a recipe for success. Kruger looked good on the second line. Stahlberg gets great opportunities but just can not finish. They lack toughness and goaltending. Cory Crawford is a trainwreck at this point.
