  1. Dave Martinez played with the Sox for three years. That is a guy I would give a shot to with Hahn.
  2. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) Why wait till the end of the season? Just fire him now. Let the players each take a game to manage, hell, let Hermy manage one game, who cares at this point? Seriously though, there shouldn't even be a gap between the end of the season and the Division Series. That pink slip should be delivered September 29th. They won't fire him they will trade him to Florida and you can not trade players until after the World Series. If they fire him and Florida hires him I believe the Sox do not owe him anything.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) True. How about Daryl Boston? Loved his power. If Daryl Boston's catch was in NY it would start every high-lite show ever.
  4. Having Ramirez bunt was about the umpteenth time that ozzie played right into the hands of the opposing manger that right folks is why he should be shown the door. He was absolutely owned that inning the manger's job is to put players in a position to succeed. He failed miserably once again in both the top and bottom of that inning.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) Ozzie is the chess player who moves the pieces. Sale and Sergio are nothing but mere pawns. who is playing chess but isn't qualified to play checkers.
  6. Ozeroo wanted to do the old 9th inning musical chairs closer scenario one last time before getting canned.
  7. The obvious question to me is how do you live in a house for nearly six decades and not pay it off? Rhetorical question I assume somebody got over their skis refinancing.
  8. Couple of things. The fact Guillen thinks he can work anywhere and get away with s*** he pulled here speaks volumes of either his ego or his ignorance. Anyone that watches the Sox because of guillen is a moron. I am referring to the irrelevance crack from joltin joe The actual press the Sox receive from guillen's antics is not a positive thing. I like guillen but am not certain he really cares to want to work for the job any longer.
  9. Assuming the kid was ok and we all know it was an accident. How f***ing cool would it be to say you were checked and run over by John Toews.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 08:32 AM) So much for the new rules ruining the KO return game, I guess. This was also Urlacher's first game in which he recorded an INT, a fumble recovery and a TD How many touchbacks were there compared to last year that is the question. The new rules did not impact punts.
  11. The stress of not having an offense for almost 2 years is taking its toll. When every inning of every game is high stress, something usually will give.
  12. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 10:00 AM) Good Lord this is scary. I'm surprised the Sox are above .500. I don't if the Sox can afford to have Morel in the line up with the rest of these guys. and walker keeps his job
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) That's the 702nd ball that Rios has broke the wrong way on. maybe guillen was right last spring when he said jones was the better CF
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) That's gonna take a few months, not a few games. At least a full season and start to another.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) I don't get this. No reason to play Rios over Lillibridge and De Aza until next spring. Nobody needs protecting and matchups mean nothing. Rios is not doing anything either of those two have not already done tenfold this season. The 8th inning at-bat last night continued to show how embarrassing Rios is right now.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 07:43 AM) Buster_ESPN Buster Olney There is a sense in FLA front office that Jeffrey Loria and David Samson will be taking a greater role in making player personnel decisions. throw the ozeroo in that mix and that franchise will be epic......careful what you ask for oz I see a 100 loss season being an annual thing down there
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Because the flat out cut AJ in the middle of a contract because they hated him so much there. Yeah, exactly. they were getting nothing for him from SF. I thought he was a non-tender?
  18. So the platoon is De Aza and Lillibridge. Got it. I would hate to be able to judge if Lillilbridge could hit RHP and De Aza LHP consistently because we would hate for them to be overmatched in September and give an indication for 2012. Maybe Rios will hurt himself looking a fool against a 88 MPH "heater" down the middle again
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 07:36 AM) No, it's not. The people in Torotno criticized him for failing to give effort or work hard all the time. He really looked like he was going to cry after that at-bat.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) There's even a clause in Lillibridge's contract which states he must ride the bench at least 5 days per week when Alex Rios is healthy. of all the crap in the last few weeks this is what gets me What the hell, bat him second and play him in CF. What is the worst thing that can happen?
  21. Ok so you know Dunn, Peavy and Rios will not need to show who does that leave....... They are going to have to get some good older players in. Thomas, Ventura, Dick Allen, Thome, etc. They really killed a great event. When was the last time we heard from Brooks Boyer?
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) Dear God what a start. That episode was amazing. I hope like hell the DVR taped it.
  23. Great games by Stewart and Humber today. f*** Danny Valencia
  24. Real interesting offseason coming up for management choices as well as players
