And that's a Corpse Ball loser!!
Did Coco Crisp have more total bases than the White Sox today? Talk about insult to injury. Ramirez and Wise are laughable right now. Thome/Dye/Konerko/AJ need to be broken up in the order. Pitching looks good thus far.......

Fans can boo whoever they want. Also I believe many fans are booing the situation not Wise per se as there really is no reason to not like Wise, he is not an MLB player but he is not going to refuse the assignment or the money.

Sox-Royals on WGN Tonight - 7:11pm CDT
I know it happens often but the White Sox seem to be very vulnerable to the type of game where absolutley no offense is generated.

Floyd should have hit Teahan. The bad blood is from the series when K.C. hit 5 Sox hitters Coco Crisp would look great on the Sox right now. This offense is going to struggle all year. The starting pitching better be lights out.

Official Opening Day Post Game Thread
QUOTE (YASNY @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) I don't say this much, but umpire was giving Meche pitches that Buerhle couldn't dream of getting. I know Mark struggled, but that was ridiculous. From where I was sitting it looked like Buerhle was getting squeezed early and that ran up his pitch count. A.J. was not moving his mitt and the pitches were called balls. Getz has great range. Thome is not clutch...oh wait...scratch that The pen looks really solid. I feel bad for Wise but they need to end that experiment sooner rather than later. Weather was great in the sun, not sure about the shady folks. Real good crowd. The team is slow 4-7 everyone knew that all along.

Sox Move Opening Day to Tuesday
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) What are the conditions supposed to be tomorrow, still cold I assume, but no chance of snow or rain? Possibly 50 and clear

Sox Move Opening Day to Tuesday
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 09:50 AM) I would think 3-5 degrees difference is nothing to the thousands that won't be able to make it, but once again, I don't blame the White Sox and actually applaude them making a decision sooner rather than later. I just think Skilling has lost his touch. He predicts extreme conditions more than anyone anymore. WGN was the weather group thinking as much as 6 inches on wet heavy snow, and there is no more than a dusting. I'm sure if they knew yesterday what they know now, there would have been a game today. Sun = 15 to 20 degrees v. today's overcast Also the snow that we got is more like an inch or two of slush. The field will be more playable tomorrow. It is unfortunate for those that can't change their days off but I think it was for the best. I also hate the off day after Opening Day.

2009 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) Really? Even if Carp and Wainy win sixteen games each, they’re going to be hard pressed to win with that offense, back-end of the rotation and pen. Cub’s hatred is fine by me, but that’s a damn good team they’ve got up in the North Side. I was more talking about ESPN and that if you think Carpenter and Wainwright are going to each throw over 200 innings, they will compete with the cub. The back of the Cards rotation to me is better than the cubs.

BEARS GET CUTLER!!!
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) When his defense gives up 21 points or less, he is 13 - 1 as a starter. The reason I do not like that stat.......how many times did the defense give up more than 21 points becasue of Cutler mistakes. 1 int resulting in 7 points can result in that stat being blown.

2009 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) With Joe Morgan? If that's true ESPN is just messing with people now. Yes and it is really bad. Anyone catch baseball tonight yesterday morning when the cub was hailed as a run away winner in the NL east but Carpenter and Wainwright were hailed as 200 inning locks. Quite simply if Carpenter and Wainwright pitch all year, I think the Cards are better than the cub and at the least shoudl kee pthe cub from running away. The Cards play the same teams as the cubs.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 07:45 PM) Do the edges of the graphic blend with the gray background of the header for you? The gray below the "S" should be the same as the gray to the left of it. Is the guy on the far right Alesi? If so, why is he wearing the wrong helmet.

BEARS GET CUTLER!!!
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Since I'm not a local guy, Hub is supposed to be well connected in terms of Bears info correct? Think Bruce Levine with better credentials and analytical knowledge.

BEARS GET CUTLER!!!
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) It seems like the edict came down from above for Denver to move Cutler for the first good offer that included two first rounders. Hub Arkush was on the Score and said the deal was practically done as Cutler for 09 1st, 09 3rd and Orton... like moments from sending in the papers. Then of course Daniel Snyder came in and offered Campbell, 09 1st, 10 1st, and for about 30 minutes, that was the deal that was going to happen. Angelo said "f*** that" and came back and added the extra 1st and the Broncos tossed in a 5th. I guess all the above happened in about an hour and it was a go from there. Yesterday morning Arkush said on the Hampton and Holmes show that the Bears were not a factor. He also chuckled at the thought of Orton starting in Denver.

BEARS GET CUTLER!!!
QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) Bottom line.. (from what I heard from multiple outlets) Denver preferred Orton over Campbell. This was on the SCORE I posted this a couple of pages back that the old Denver G.M. reported that teams were not even allowed to make an offer and others had what appeared to be better offers. McDaniels wanted Orton over Campbell. Cutler makes the defense cover 50 years of the field on every play. Orton makes them cover 20. Hester, Olsen and Forte are much better players today than they were yesterday. QB's can make receivers much better than recievers can make QB's better. Going back to the post about the Bears being in this for a few weeks. The Kevin Jones signing leads me to beleive they were prepared to give up Forte in the deal.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 04:25 PM) Gabriel? He's widely regarded as one of the best personell guys in the business. Maybe but I didn't recall knowing the guy's name. I know Gabriel but maybe. It was a great interview very pro-Bear as Sundquist drafted Cutler.

BEARS GET CUTLER!!!
QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) Clady was a Pro Bowl/2nd team ALL PRO lineman as a rookie. That was not thanks to Jay Cutlers mobility Steve. Wasn't there an argument a few pages back debunking the credability of the Pro Bowl?

BEARS GET CUTLER!!!
This morning on the radio the old G.M. from Denver (Ted Sunquist?) was explaining that the Broncos did not even return phone calls to at least 5 teams, one being the Jets and that the thought was that Denver could have gotten more. McDaniels liked Orton over Campbell............. Also the Bears pro personnel guy did all of the leg work on this and had been in contact with Denver since day one and used his connections to seal the deal, I forget his name, before other teams even sent in offers. To me it sounds like Denver is a tad confused currently.
