6-3 Rox 2 possible errors on a ground ball to 3rd Oh wait no 7-3, Sisco getting hit but they are throwing the ball around. Sounds pretty ugly. Men Left on Base is really sad. Farmio saying the guys on the field right now can not play.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 12:57 PM) So...2CMT is 1 Chicago time...right? I only ask because that friggin' idiot Murphy is still rambling on about something. How the hell did that idiot ever get a job? Ah, nevermind, I read the title poorly. I see 2 CENTRAL time. I still have an hour. Good, I'll shut the idiot off. Is there pre-game? Screw the water table. Wanna torture people.....make them listen non-stop to that dolt. 29 minutes to Farmio the smile on face face continues to grow.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...mpton.comeback/ Hope he gets his want. Because I'm rooting for the Braves and because he's really working unlike, say, a Carl Pavano. If he is healthy the NL is really going to be tough as the Mets, D'Backs, Dodgers, and Reds are all vastly improved.

Has the Internet taken some fun out of baseball?
It is not the Internet it message boards. In 1999 I believed the Sox had a chance to win because I wanted to. Now Soxtalk and PECOTA has told me my team sucks and may win 50 wins so there is no hope.

2007-2008 NHL Catch All Thread
QUOTE(JFields27 @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) can we actually see a line of Ladd-Toews-Kane .. in the future ... that be nuts I mean Ladd is a former top 5 pick and a true LWinger. I dig that trade more and more ... theres like 45 minutes left in the deadline ... it would be nice to see another trade With the way Savard changes lines it is almost guaranteed he will play with Toew and Kane at some point. Will they play consistently together......maybe for a game or two.

2007-2008 NHL Catch All Thread
Sounds like Ladd can score in the slot which is what this team desperatly needs. If he can camp in fron of the net and do some dirty work then this could be a really good move. Of course he could end up on a line with Adams and Eager and really see what he is made of.

2007-2008 NHL Catch All Thread
I thought the Hawks were going for the cup. I believe this season is over but why trade away guys for crap. Ruutu and Williams should have been resigned or traded for soemthing and while Lapointe is useless so is a 6th round pick as comapred to the hope that maybe something could still happen this year while not likely at least keep them together. Why just give players away? I guess some things never change.

I'd like for them to resign Jason Williams.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) I find that completely illogical. On a personality level, you find a candidate distasteful, but if her platform and views are so much more in line with those of the person you are supporting, how can you just shrug and be ok with someone with a radically different ideology winning in November? In the various conservative circles, you can bet there's a lot of talk about holding your nose and pulling the handle for McCain even if he's not an ideal candidate in a lot of people's minds. The Democrats and liberal-leaning independents need to be able to do the same thing if it comes to it. What this race is bringing out are peolpe like me. I have a passsing interest in politics but think platforms are pretty stupid as I believe hardly anything is ever accomplished and other than the Fed f***ing around, everything is business as ususal and dicated by lobbyists. What was Bush's platform in 2000 and Clinton's in 1992? Sure I think Bush undermined the entire process by bowing down to big oil but the American people could care less until gas prices soared. Will Clinton get universal healthcare, no. How is that Social Security reform coming along......... Obama seems different and those of us that are jaded by politics and if Clinton who is as seedy as it comes trashes him and brings him down, I will than vote for the person who can beat her and hope Obama is back in 2012. May sound dumb but I trust Hillary much less than every other candidate. They are all phony but she takes it to another level. She loves whoever it is that can get her into the White House and cares nothing about the country other than for her personla gain. I think Big Bill was riding the economic boom and she will drag this country into depths never seen before. I can not stand her and feel she is the female version of GWB.

Sox' Lack of Focus "Unacceptable"
Anyone think Brett Tomko may have been right.

Your official Cub predictions for '08?
The cubs were swept by the D'Backs without Hudson, Haren and Johnson. The D'Backs add Haren and if RJ is healthy they are the best team in baseball. The Mets could make a push as well. Some of the NL rotations are much better as after Big Z the other guys are all average. Any injury issue to the cub and it could be along year. I also think the Indians are really overrated by the way.

LOST!!!!
The problem with the recap spolier info is that the person in the coffin may not even be revealed to us as of yet and could cause Jack to turn into the Season 3 finale Jack. The assumption you make is a good one and leaves only one person. Why a funeral in Caifornia then?

LOST!!!!
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 11:33 AM) Stop the Aaron vs. Eric argument. Even the episode with captions on confirms its "Aaron." I thought my explanation of Jack & Aaron would have sufficed in clearing up that it sounded like Eric but we both agreed it was Aaron and why Jack may not want to see Aaron and why Jack wants to get back to the island to get Claire.

LOST!!!!
QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 09:37 AM) Kate is very soft as a whole as you now see at the end of last night's episode. You also see why she can not go back to the island. The Season 3 finale with Kate is a whole lot more understandable. The best thing about this show is it progresses in real time thus we really see the strugggles to figure what to do by the characters and this do not pass as qucikly as on other shows/movies. Locke really is not sure what to do. I do though find it funny that they feel safe in the little village. Unless the fence is protecting them why do they feel they can not be reached by the harm of the freighter folks.

LOST!!!!
Me and my wife were arguing about the Aaron v. Eric. I thought it was Eric but there would be no drama to that. The prevailing thought is you are suppossed to believe Claire is now dead. My own belief is that Aaron gets sick and is let off of the island and Claire gives him uo to Kate for his own good. I thought the baby was Sawyer's that is why Jack will not see him but it is possible that Jack feels bad for not being able to cure AAron on the island and then falls of fthe deep in in the finale of season 3 as he wants ot get back and get Claire while Kate wants to stay safe in a good life with a baby. The "he" at the end of the season 3 finale I believe is the baby as well. Scantily clad Kate in bed with Sawyer was hot.

LOST!!!!
I have watched since Day 1. I also got seasons 1 and 2 over the summer and watched them. I am DVR'ing this season and will watch season 3 and this season again over the summer and fall. It is amazing the thigns that are missed (ie Libby is seen in the institution with Hurley at the end of an episode, she also gave Desmond her boat). If you have not wathced this from the onset your are only seeing a small piece of what the show is really about. The inside stuff on the show is what I really like. There are websites all over that will help you out.

Jerry Owens goal 65 SBs
QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Haven't really seen Swisher, mostly because the A's rarely played him there (for a reason). There aren't many guys who are projected to be First-basemen playing Center. Yes I've seen Owens. He is no Torii Hunter but he's better than anything we have. Forget Anderson, he is done with this organization. And he is way more a liability at the plate than Owens. He can barely make contact. Owens batting 9th should be no problem at all. Bottom line, defense up the middle is, you know, kind of important. Didn't the Red Sox have Coco playing CF for most of the season until Ellsbury eventually came up? Coco's not much of a hitter but that team did pretty well with him in there. We'll see what happens with Swisher in CF every day. I'm not looking forward to it. The only thing that Jerry Owens is better than Brian Anderson at is stealing bases. The inexplainable infatuation with a speed guy batting leadoff will kill this team.

DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 11:02 AM) When a candidate's supporters say I will support this candidate and no other, it does not sound like they are Democrats at all. These are flash in the pan voters who will go jump to some third party candidate or similar. They will get the level of respect they give the party. My way or the highway supporters come and go in every election. Obama is reaching the people that do not vote and are not affiliated with a party and believe politics to be a waste of time as everyone is corrupt or full of s***. These people, of which I am one of, if they stay engaged after their respective primary and stay informed and are lead to believe that Hillary plowed her way and backroomed into a nomination could flock to McCain, I know I will. The hilalry backers and true Dems will back Obama because he is Dem. In Novemebr this could beat McCain. I tilt toward the right normally but I think Obama could be a different sort of presence in the White House. I voted for Bush in 2000 because I liked the people that he surrounded himself with, mostly Powell. I sat out 2004. Oh and as far as policies go, I believe none of them actually accomplish much of anything unless Congress backs them. I have more faith in the system of Checks and Balances than I do in a trustworthy politican.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 12:08 AM) The decision has already been made, I can guarantee you that. Baring injury Buehrle will take the ball on March 31st in Cleveland. If Vazquez starts the season opener, Buerhle will start the home opener and vise versa. I get the feeling Guillen will give Buerhle the choice.
