I can't decide if that movie looks funny or not.
  2. Yeah, I don't use iTunes that frequently but I don't notice any difference in that pic and what I've been using for years. NSS, as for your Vista comment, I used that OS for the first time this week. I've been using XP for years and have had W7 on my work computer and laptop at home since January. There's so many half-figured out things in Vista and stuff that doesn't work nearly as well as it should (and does in W7). I'm glad I pretty much skipped over that OS as it seems like a poor bridge between what XP and W7 are.
  3. More from CNN: "Jindal said that Mariner has told him that all seven wells have been closed off and that what is burning now is from fuel in storage, and not from an active leak." Hopefully they're correct.
  4. LOL. Yep, they will use this guy to prove AGW is just a big fraud. You've already got enough fringe thinking eco-terrorists blew up the oil rigs.
  5. Ah s***. [updated at 2:08 p.m.] U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Elizabeth Bordelon tells CNN there is a sheen at the site of the production platform that measures approximately 1 mile by 100 feet. This information comes after Gov. Bobby Jindal who said there were reports of a mile-long sheen.
  6. from the same link: [Posted at 11:43 a.m.] U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Bill Colclough tells CNN that all 13 workers involved in the rig explosion are accounted for, but one person is injured. Coast Choppers are on the way to the site 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay. I'm not a petro engineer. Hopefully this is just some sort of accident on the rig and not another blowout.

  8. Yeah, white male Christian privilege disappearing isn't exactly a bad thing. I'm not sure why a self-described agnostic would support the religious right and their theocratic motives, but I haven't read anything she's written so I don't know what her argument is beyond Hannity supporting her. eta: going to have to disagree on the "smart, wity" description of Cupp based on this. She's right about the former, wrong about the later. Very, very, very wrong. Back on topic, this guy's ideas on population control are pretty abhorrent, but I think the discussion of "hey, maybe having 5, 6+ kids in a developed country with low infant mortality isn't the best idea" is a good one.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) We won all 3 games which means they were well managed games. We lose they are poorly managed games. Jesus Christ please go take an introductory class in logic and statistics before I have a meltdown.
  10. There are so many awesome things about that Hannity quote there.
  11. Chris Sale, I wish to express my appreciation. Regards, StrangeSox
  12. Over/under on hours until he's used to tarnish all environmentalists? 2?
  13. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 11:11 AM) If this is true, What Y2HH said.
  14. The biggest points imo are Angelo/Lovie's fetish for the DL and complete neglect for the OL.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) It's like having the right answer to a math question but no work shown. You might have gotten lucky with the result, but you didn't prove that you know what you're talking about. I did that once way back in grade school for long division. Stumbling into the right answer doesn't mean you actually know what you're doing.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) That is what I don't get. We won the game. We didn't need Manny. We have a day game after a night game. Manny is no spring chicken. Ozzie made the right call. We WON and now he's rested. Why can't some people give the manager credit for his decision? Winning the game proved it was the correct decision. When we lose, he made wrong decisions because the scoreboard says we LOST. Now, Manny, who was on a plane all day, is allegedly refreshed and ready. It's like some people think they will get an electric shock if they praise Ozzie when his moves work. Being on a plane is not tiring. Winning the game didn't prove it was the correct decision, just as bringing in your worst reliever in the pen in a 1 run game with bases loaded and still getting out of it doesn't make it the "correct" decision. It is not as simple as "win=correct decisions made, lose=wrong decisions made" because the game still relies on players performing. It's not an intellectual exercise over which managers can make competent lineups or bull pen calls. You can make the wrong choice statistically and still wind up winning. Think of playing the lottery: the odds are stacked so heavily against you that it doesn't make financial sense to play, yet sometimes people do win.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) Good. I'm glad we won't have to hear anyone say that, because it doesn't matter now. We won. Now Manny is rested for the day game. Oz made the right call, again. You can reach correct conclusions through poor reasoning and illogical decisions.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) James Cameron goes all b****y diva on Piranha 3D Avatar, on the other hand, was one of the most creative and best-told stories of our time and not a shiny knock-off of a story done over and over.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Just thought I'd list the highlights of the game thread. I just got in and read it now. My favorite: fat f*** after Bobby gave up a hit. That last one wasn't a rip. Fathom was being nice. He was just concerned at Jenks' heavy work load of late.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Getting a little ridiculous with this now. A.J. deserves 99.99999% of the credit for that bomb. Come on. I'm intentionally trying to out-do the Beckham love from last year.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) his ERA + was very good for the Cubs, but it topped at like 130, 30% better than an average pitcher, Edwin coming into tonight with 4 starts was 454, 354% better than an average pitcher... comparing apples to oranges... not sure if this was meant to be in green, but who cares, I wanted to post how freaky EJax has been, even before tonight! I am a fan of this stat. I am also a fan of Manny having 3 RBI for the Sox without a plate appearance.
  22. First call to the Ranger asked about The Manny Effect.
  23. Thank you for keeping baseball relevant for me in September, AJ, Edwin and MANNY!!!!!!!
