  1. Crawford Vizquel Konerko Thome Ichiro Baldelli Pierzynski Randa Durham The All-Trade Rumor/I-Bust-a-nut over guys we won't get lineup And yes, I've heard people asking for Durham over on the other site.
  2. I'm very surprised by these answers. I was going to say baseball, but if it is football, it's not by much. The city was just buzzing so much more when the Sox made the playoffs than the Bears. And that's in a city with TWO baseball teams. Ratings and **attendance say the White Sox are more popular, but I'd still say the Cubs top us because they are owned by the media. But the gap is shrinking by the day. Bears-Cubs-White Sox-Bulls-Wolves-Blackhawks **Correct me if I'm wrong, but the AL counts people through the turnstyles, not tickets paid, and the NL is the opposite? Or do I have those mixed up. Turnstyle counts would lower overall attendance numbers, that's why I'm asking. If this is true the attendance numbers are virtually the same.
  3. I'm a few days late on this, but I finally caught Smackdown on Friday. I was impressed. That tag team match with Kendrick/London and Regal/Taylor was pretty darn good. THe first time I've really felt suspense in a WWE match in a long time.
  4. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) 16mil, wow. Free agency is getting crazy, the guy is 42. Bonds has made the Giants a lot of money. I really don't have a problem with HIS salary, "extra-curricular activites" aside.
  5. Last night's Raw was maybe the 5th or 6th I've seen in the last 8 months. But that stuff with DX and the bounty was hilarious. You crapped a masterpiece? That's pure 12 year old comedic gold! Which coincidentally is right down my alley! Sure, it can't compare to what Raw was 5 years ago, but this is what we got, so I guess I'll make the most of it. Women's matches, I'm sorry, but they could never happen again and I wouldn't be that upset. Roddy Piper needs to never come back as well unless he's strictly doing Piper's Pit segments. Ric Flair needs to stricly be in a managerial role, Crime Time has the look--but I've never seen them wrestle. Big Show needs to drop about 100 pounds right now. He looks horrendous. Viscera needs to never be on television again. But to talk about the positives, Orton is a bad ass. He's got that look where you just want to punch him in the face. You KNOW he's a dick behind the scenes, and it comes off on screen as well. He could become one of the greatest heels of all time if they use him properly. Unfortunately, I wasn't lying. He truly is a dick head behind the scenes, and that could be his downfall. Edge is still a bad ass. Enough said. And Mickie James is freakin hot.

    The Office

Speaking of Jim/Dwight, my favorite episode is during Season 2 when Michael steals the box from Toby with all the complains in it. They go over every prank Jim has pulled on Dwight. Today I hit myself in the head with my phone. That one took a little work. Every day I'd put more nickels in the phone and then finally I took them all out. This season has implemented more of a storyline than the last 2 seasons. The only real shocker last season was the last episode (the casino night). But I cannot wait until Thursday. I think Jim gets with the girl from Stanford, which will then piss off Pam. And I don't believe that other guy from Stanford is going to Scranton. They showed him in the break room freaking out when he found out the Stanford branch was closing. I'll miss the creator of Big Tuna. haha
  7. Alex Rodriguez should have won, but this is good news. Joe Crede is becoming a very well known name in baseball. A Gold Glove is in his future, no doubt.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 07:54 AM) A spot on The Surreal Life is guaranteed. haha! I think he needs to be out of the spotlight for at least 6 years before he's on the Surreal Life. Or sometimes longer if you're Dave Coulier, Flava Flav, or that guy from NKOTB.
  9. QUOTE(shoota @ Nov 4, 2006 -> 06:35 PM) I don't understand the disbelief that Crede didn't win the Gold Glove. Must be a homer-based emotional reaction, because Crede's certainly not worthy of a Gold Glove. haha give it up already.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Very well? We can say he improved over his dreadful first half, but he was far too inconsistent with the bat, and really wasn't a factor on offense the entire year. In July and August he hit .313 and .296 respectively, before having a dreaful September/October. I ain't trying to say he carried the team, but those are good signs from a rookie who started out hitting well below the Mendoza (or Uecker) line. As time progresses, he will start doing that for more than 2 months a season. It's a growing process most rookies go through unless you're Ryan Howard or Albert Pujols. To be hitting .170 for a lot of the season and manage to get your average up to .225...all things considered, that's pretty good.
  11. QUOTE(BainesHOF @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) Crede is a great fielder, but he's not the best third baseman in the American League. Apparently it's a good thing Sox fans don't vote for the award because the winners would be worse than they are now. You could make a case though. I think his 2005 season was much better. This year he made a lot more flashy plays, but last year he was just so consistent. Rarely threw the ball away, which he seemed to do alot more in 06. 2005 Uribe and Crede should have won a GG. No doubt about it. Oh, and where's the love for Paul Konerko? Probably the most underrated defensive 1B in baseball. Sure, he doesn't have the range, but he plays 1st. And how many times have we seen him pick one out of the dirt in crucial situations? Cases could also be made for Garland and Buehrle, but the mediots would actually have to watch BASEBALL (not Baseball Tonight) to realize these things. (Oh, I'm not asking for an all White Sox GG team, I'm just saying cases could be made. That is all. )

    The Office

Famous Indians: Apu from the Simpsons. Me and my roommate were literally yelling at Jim to answer his phone when Pam texted him. We were like 2 girls watching Laguna Beach. haha "What are you doing?" "What are YOU doing?" "Rejecting your kiss." "Can I get a ride home." "Only if you sit in back." And for the record, the lady Jim works with now is pretty hot, but I'd still take Pam. She's got that cute personality.
  13. They sure are quick to give Anderson the 'ol heave-ho. Like many have said already, there must be something we don't know. The man hit very well in the 2nd half, and the only reason his average was so low was because of his dreadful first half. As for the low power numbers, it was his first full season! Give me a break. The White Sox are usually good about sticking with young players, so there HAS to be something else to this story. And for that little blurb about McCarthy's relief role, he wasn't as bad as they made him sound. He's the Ben Gordon of the White Sox bullpen: when he's hot he's not. When he's not....he's f'ing ice cold! Bomb after bomb. Really not worth getting worked up over, as he'll be in the rotation in '07, but that comment (from the article) surprised me a bit.
  14. QUOTE(ptatc @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) If you watched Thomas this year you would've noticed that he wasn't healthy. He did play a full season but not at a healthy level. He still cannot run on that foot. He limped and hobbled his way through the year to get a good contract and a ring I think. If you look at his stats they show it as well. He scored only 77 runs and had only 11 doubles. Both of which are significantly lower than any season where he had 500 at bats. This tells me he couldn't run to stretch doubles and couldn't score from 2nd where he could if he could run. Thomas will always hit but his days of being able to run and do other things he should are over. I wouldn't sign him to a multi-year dwal as who knows how he will be able to handle it. That being said I'm a huge Thomas fan and can't wait to see that 500th HR no matter what uniform it's in (as long as it's not against the Sox) Healthy is the wrong word I suppose. I was referring to the fact that he played a full season, something he hasn't done since 2004.
  15. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) I'd say the chances are few and far between that Frank stays healthy two years in a row. I'd say the chances are very high that he has 2 healthy years in a row. This is a guy who was never really injured until late in his career. I say after this off season he will be in better shape than the past 2 years, because if you ask me he wasn't fully healed even in 2006. Yet he still put up massive numbers. Just look at him run...and while Frank is far from the athlete he used to be, he should be looking better on the base paths in 07. I'm a Frank Thomas homer, I admit it. But I think he will have another great year in 2007. wherever that may be.
  16. This is great news. Now hopefully I don't have to hear Cardinals fans say in that smug tone that Buerhle will leave as soon as he gets the opportunity to play for his beloved Cardinals. And like most, I also have no problem with Buerhle supporting the Cardinals. Because we all know who he is supporting when he has to choose between the White Sox and Cardinals.
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) Willie Harris>Jackie Robinson It doesn't need to be said. It is implied.
  18. I see what you're sayin, but they still need to sell the merchandise.
  19. I see more pointless CFB games than anything. It would be nice to see more games from the Bulls dynasty, no hitters/perfect games like someone else said, stuff like that.
  20. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Oct 24, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) Just a guess but I assume they have no clue who anyone is if they either aren't or never were Cubs. Girardi was a Cub, "I remember him, let's bring him in!" That's pretty much what it comes down to. I wonder how many Cub fans know who Trammell is. Not many.
  21. I'm another one who wouldn't mind if the rotation stayed as it is. The only reason someone should be dealt is to put McCarthy into the rotation and free up some serious money. I have faith that 3-5 SP will rebound and lead us to another WS Championship.
  22. Happy 1 year Sox fans. That was my first thought waking up this morning.
  23. What's new with Casey James? His sister is a friend of mine, so it was pretty cool to see his debut...like a couple months ago.

    The Office

The first episode of Season 3 was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. Last night's was pretty funny, nothing special though. "Take the beet seed." (He misses, then grabs it) "Dammit"
  25. I wouldn't be so quick to quit on Vazquez. He had 2 horrible months, June and July, with a 7.50 and 6.82 ERAs (respectively). Every other month he was under 4.
