League 1 here.

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) I do know from staying at team hotels on the road that most folks are autograph hounds so he wasn't far off. It's not worth making an issue though. I do think that doing it at the park is best though. They are very accomidating with handicap folks, and it dimishes the risk of having to fight for an autograph in an uncontrolled situation such as at the hotel. Agreed. Nice talking to you.

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) Everyone, eh...? And the story doesn't matter. Opinions don't need justification. OK, I guess I was a little broad with the use of "everyone" but you (you as in most rational people) know what I meant. The story does matter. He was calling this guy out as an adult autograph hound when all he wanted to do was make his handicapped nephew's day.

QUOTE(WhiteSox3333 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Actually, I want to take my disabled nephew who is 8 years old to get a few autographs. I live in San Francisco, and at the ballpark, it's hard getting him down near the dugouts in his wheelchair, so the hotel is the easiest option. He loves the White Sox, and in the past, they've been great with signing autographs for him at their hotel. Everyone is always so quick to rip on people when they don't even know the story. I don't know the hotel, but good luck finding it and I hope your nephew gets some good autographs and has a good time.

So what you guys are saying is if I show up with the original ticket that clearly states on the bottom that "This card admits one guest" I will be turned away? Even with a copy of my RSVP email? I don't understand what the hell is going on here.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) Check this spiff out. I RSVP'ed before the date, and now they have no record of it. I was expecting the tickets in the mail this week, and since I didnt get them I called. Now they tell me tough spiff. More beer for me! Seriously though, that is BS.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) remember when a 3 run dficit in the eighth still meant you had a realistic shot at winning the game? Like two months ago? That's what they need, a good old fashioned come from behind victory. Not going to happen against Nathan.

QUOTE(Sam @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Yeah, I've been in there. Sweet place. Reasonable prices too. http://tattoofactory.com/ Yeah, they just moved into a new building accross the street too. The owner ran for Mayor of River Grove, but lost because it got out that they did vaginal piercings.

QUOTE(SoxFanInDallas @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) I said before the WS that if they won, I would get a Sox tattoo and name my first kid Tadahito. Well, I'm going to forget the second one, but will getting a tattoo of the current logo. Any recommendations of where to go? People who have done Sox logo's that have done a good job? Thanks! They do a nice job at the Tattoo Factory on Broadway.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Ha. My idea was laughed at, but look who was right. Love the pick up. Love it!

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) So how is that any different then what has occurred so far this year? I guess it's not.
-
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) I find that hard to believe. Don't we have a stretch of 20 straight games coming up? Ozzie would be an idiot if he didn't give AJ an occasional day off. I would bet AJ plays about 17-18 of those. He said "Just about every" not every.

Here is a possibility for a back up catcher to replace Widger: Alomar Headed Out? Sandy Alomar Jr. has just two at-bats since the Dodgers acquired Toby Hall from Tampa Bay on June 27, and Manager Grady Little indicated that should the club make a deal before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, Alomar could be the odd man out. "When the time comes when we could better ourselves, that's a possibility," Little said.

A friend of mine just gave me a couple of tickets to the "Grinder Bash". Does anyone know what this is all about? Mainly, is the beer included?
-
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) We are actually at .500 when he plays in a game. 13-13 Right, they are 13-13 when Widger plays, but they have lost the last 5 times he's played. AJ said on Mike North's show this morning that he will most likely play just about every day the rest of the season. Looks like Widger will have to get the old softball team back together after this season.

QUOTE(GreenSox @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) We don't need andru jones. Anderson is better defensely and Jones delives power, but nothing else....no obp, no speed. Better defense? You are talking about Adruw Jones here. Get off of Andersons jock.

Rowand is nothing more than a decent 4th outfielder. Have you looked at his stats? less than impressive, especially in June and July so far. I appreciate what Rowand did to help this team win a championship last year, but the fact is he is not that good.
-
They just said on the score that it would either be Buehrle or Jenks replaced by Liriano.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) I really dont have any problem with moving Mac at the right price. But if they were to move BOTH of them in one package, the player we get back better be named Albert, Johan or Roy..... Talk about overvaluing your prospects.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) I'm behind the plate after the game today and this lady comes up to me and says "can i take a picture of your jersey?" Somewhat confused, i say sure...Steff says "Are you Brandon's mom?" "Yes" Her and what must have been his aunt take pictures of my jersey, saying it's the first one they've seen, and they were quite impressed. I felt like a celebrity. Brandon's mom was very nice and says she reads here sometimes...she recognized "steff" from the board, which gave us a laugh. She also thought i was her son, which gave us another laugh. Anyway, the McCarthy's were very nice people, kind of cool to meet them in that fashion. Speaking of player's mom's, I was at a Sox/O's game a couple of years ago. I was in section 159 and Larry Bigbie's family was out there. His borther (i'm guessing) was wearing a Bigbie jersey and a couple of assholes started giving him s*** and eventually splashed a beer on him. So he walked away without getting into a fight, but his mom came over there yelled at the guys and spilled a beer right over their heads. It was very amusing.

I play a lot of online poker and was wondering where any of you guys play. I play on poker.com and won a solid $500 playing $1-$2 blinds last night.

Why the hell didn't Ozzie pinch hit Gload for Pauly there?
-
What the hell is wrong with Ozzie today? How do you not pinch hit for Widger there?
-
A-Row got himself two nominations with his catch.

QUOTE(jfbrens @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) Having trouble finding the Hotel Coral Essex on the internet..... are you sure that is the name? Or is it in the suburbs of pittsburgh? No on 15!
