From ESPN.com: Updated: Sep. 8, 2005, 3:34 PM ET Lohse's future in doubt after damaging door, self in tiradeESPN.com news services Kyle Lohse might have dented more than a door when he took out his frustration after being pulled from his last start after just two innings. Lohse dented manager Ron Gardenhire's office door, apparently with a bat, injured his finger and might have permanently fractured his already strained relationship with the Twins, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Thursday. He also might have jeopardized his place in the rotation -- and on the team's roster. Soon after leaving Tuesday night's game after giving up five runs in two innings, Lohse went into the clubhouse and damaged Gardenhire's door -- denting the metal door and breaking the doorknob -- and dented the door to the locker room next to the manager's office, according to the paper. Lohse said he was upset that the coaching staff didn't "stand behind me and say, 'We've got your back.'" "It's about winning," Gardenhire told the paper in response to the tantrum. "If you don't understand that, take a hike out of the clubhouse, because we're going to try to win whether you've got somebody's back or not. Whatever that means." Lohse, who has had a tenuous relationship with club officials over the past three years, underwent X-rays and was wearing a bandage on his right middle finger but told the paper if he missed his next scheduled start, Monday at Detroit, "it's not going to be because of" the injury to his finger. Lohse said he was still in the starting rotation "as far as I know," but Gardenhire has expressed a desire to get prospect Francisco Liriano at least one start this season. Lohse is not eligible to be traded because he didn't clear waivers; he won his arbitration hearing to earn $2.4 million this season and could become a free agent if a deal is not made this offseason, the paper said. The 26-year-old right-hander is 8-12 this season with a 4.36 ERA.

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) I like Boers and Bernstein, they make me laugh. Nothing beats second hand news and friday fung. Friday Fung is the best. Tales of laziness, Daredevil or Dumbass, bizarre sports injuries. Good stuff.

QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) Hermanson was never not the go to guy. If it wasnt for his back problems noone else would have had a shot. Anyway. Great game. wish I didnt have to see Marte tonight, but a win is a win. Caught two BP homerun balls. All is good!!! Bring on the Patio Party, and the I think you missed my point. It was because of the back injuries that there was doubt in how effective Hermy was going to be down the stretch.

Jose......... Getting it done again. This also looked to be the game that Hermanson re-established himself as the man to go to in the 9th inning should the Sox make it to next month. It also revealed that Marte established himself as the mop-up/blowout guy that will be there next month. :headshake

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Fixed it for you Doin' what I can to toe the line.

Oh that's awful. My condolences go out to you and your entire family.

Congrats AJ on the new bundle of joy. To one of the best signal callers in the game.

What I couldn't get over the weekend were the people booing Magglio every time he came up. I understood when he first came back, and it was expected. But winning is the best medicine. The Sox have gotten great production from Dye, & are likely bound for postseason play. Booing Mags at this point in time is pointless. I'm pretty sure he's enjoying his 15 million, but I'm sure the Sox are enjoying the extra 23 wins they have from individuals like Pods, Duque, AJ, Dye, & Iguchi that were bought for the same 15 million. Booing Mags at this point in the season shows pettiness IMHO. It's over, and it's time to move on.

Twinkies win! Magic number=19!
-
Punto bunted Castro to 3rd and Howry threw it away! Twinkies win 3-2! Magic number is now 20!
-
Juan Castro reaches safely on an error by Aaron Boone. Winning run on 2nd. Come on Twinkies! (I can't believe I just typed that)
-
Joe Nathan=Asshat. :finger Blew the save in the 9th, game is currently tied at 2 headed to the bottom of the 9th. Santana pitched like.........himself. :headshake

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Personal Reasons, for which are not known yet. I was listening to the game on the radio earlier and Ed Farmer said that Iguchi was suffering from blurred vision, but would be available later on in the game.

Hope your MRI went well Bull. Here's hoping to see you on the South Side soon.

Per the Score, when Pods was reactivated & Anderson sent down, Adkins was also sent down and Bajenaru was recalled.

No official terms announced yet. Press conference scheduled for tomorrow morning.

I don't try to get too much into politics, but after reading that article, I couldn't find a comparison between Fonda's Vietnam visit & Penn's Iran visit.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) No, you really don't understand what some people were saying. There were about 4 different definition for IN and OUT in this thread. Nobody was saying they're not a fan anymore. I understand some people were saying they would start following the club again come playoff time because they couldn't deal with the team having a little adversity.
-
I guess Josh Towers only knows how to pitch against the Sox. Cleveland wins 4-1, takes 2/3 from the Jays.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Most ridiculous thread in soxtalk history. I agree. Last year's In or Out thread was one thing because the Sox were trailing the Twinkies, and still had an outside shot. This year, the Sox have been up by at least 7 games and some were ready to jump ship after some adversity. :headshake

Do I still have time to vote OUT? I luv this team.

OH YEAH!!! That's 2 series in a row! And 9 up on the Indians!
