I am spending NYE at home with my pregnant wife and my parents who came in to visit. We have a fire going, the dogs are asleep on the couch, the christmas tree is lit up. I have three bottles of Rogue Hazelnut Brown, and 4 bottles of Baileys (it was on sale for half off). And of course I have my onesie. Life is good.

The point is that there was one more reason to go with the obvious choice in that situation, Arians. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 06:56 AM) Bah, not after this debacle season. I just remember last year after one of his press conferences, and having read an article in regards to how much he embraced analytics and data, thinking, wow, we've got a few very smart GMs in charge of my favorite teams finally. Boy did things go to s*** for him quickly. -

I'll admit, there is a part of me that would have preferred to keep Emery. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 28, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) I agree with you. I really didn't think it was intentional. Cmon...when you step on someone you look down to make sure you don't continue to step on them or do it again...he stepped on him and then actually stepped back on him again with his other foot. That was entirely intentional. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 28, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) Suh doesnt get the benefit of the doubt anymore. I guess I could see the first step as an accident but not the second step. his act is getting old. so glad the Bucs ended up have to "settle" on McCoy. He should be suspended for a year as far as I am concerned. Consistently and deliberately tries to injure players without any fear of reprimand. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 27, 2014 -> 07:45 PM) If he's a hard worker that puts me even more in his corner. I always despised Rios cause I perceived him as a loafer. For real? I never knew!

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 07:55 AM) Ah that makes more sense, is it actually allowed on the network (I would assume not reading the above)? Allowing personal devices on your network is scary for a few reasons: -Work documents on a personal device (confidentiality) -No control over security software (could even have nothing on it, whereas all work devices can be managed), when was the last time the device was scanned for threats? -Technically you wouldn't know whose device it is on the network, is it a contractor? A fulltime employee? An invited or uninvited guest? Could someone walk right in with a device and access the network? Lots of ways to get around those concerns, but it has to be done right. BYOD (bring your own device) is coming, because of employees like you who prefer to use their own machine because the company isn't offering a good enough option. It brings flexibility, and could be quite cost effective (pushing support back onto the manufacturer/seller) but there needs to be work done around it to limit exposure. We are allowed on the network. Guests have restricted access to the network. Your concerns are obviously good ones...very interesting.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 23, 2014 -> 07:31 AM) Is that company issued or personal? It's pretty nice if you can use a personal machine at work, though there are a ton of security questions around that. It's personal. Our company won't allow us to procure Apple laptops/desktops yet, although they do allow us to procure iPads/iPhones. So how it works is they will allow us to use personal machines, but IT does not "support" them. Basically, this means I can't tap in to the company systems, other than my email. Russ, as far as the security questions, is this specifically regarding company documents/information on a machine which may not be protected by our IT department's particular security protocols?

Been using the new MacBook Pro for about a week now. Very pleased with it overall. Very powerful machine...was able to upload my entire music library (several thousand songs) as well as hundreds of high-res photos from the wedding simultaneously and very quickly. The machine is light, fast as hell, and just feels solid overall. I turned in my work-issued Dell to IT and told them to go ahead and wipe it clean. I will never be using it again.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 21, 2014 -> 11:29 PM) Why wouldn't Dallas be ahead of Seattle? They both are 11-4, and Dallas beat Seattle this season. Arizona would hold the tiebreaker over Dallas though. Just guessing, but isn't Arizona likely to be the #1 seed, and then if Detroit wins next week, they are the #2 seed. If those 2 teams don't win, then I have no idea what will happen, but I *think* the best my Cowboys can do is the #2 seed, because whoever wins the Detroit/Packers game would get seeded better than Dallas. .....no -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) Giving up anything to trade jay would be dumb. They're not getting Mariota or Jameis and there is no other plug and play qb in the draft. Keep the pick wait a year then take the 3 mil cap hit to cut him if he still blows. Again the bears still have 29 mill, 10th most, in cap room even with Jay still around so it's not like they can't add good pieces to the d because of Jay. Yeah, this is my thinking as well. Without knowing exactly how poisonous Jay may have been to this particular roster, it's hard for us to really understand everything going into this decision. Unless they can acquire someone else with talent to step in now and displace Jay, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to give away additional assets to get him off the roster. Build with an eye towards the future, and unload Jay when his replacement will be ready. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) Weird, I know her. We aren't friends or anything (other than Facebook), but I had no idea she ever dated Andre. She's a bombshell model though. Went to IU. I'm sure you two are very close friends. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 01:08 PM) What recent trade has been better? Nobody is giving up a lot for single players anymore. That will absolutely net Longoria Well, the trade to get Upton the other day was fairly similar, although that was only for 1 year of him.

Just on my way home tonight, I heard both Bills fans and Niners fans begging for Cutler. Hopefully some GMs around the League are smoking this same dope. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 07:18 PM) We don't have the minor league talent to win that bidding war. Sure we do...whether we are willing to utilize it is a different question...
