2014-2015 NFL Football thread

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) I imagine it as a ball pumped all the way up to the point where it feels like it can explode compared to a ball that's pumped up but you can tell there's room for a bit more air. I think it's akin to that. Having played with both, the latter is way easier to catch and throw, even if your spirals are a little wobbly at times. I really don't know...I think that is a personal thing...and it certainly might be affected by weather conditions. Also keep in mind the Pats short passing game and the velocity at which those passes are being thrown from short distances. -

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) Adam Gase will be in Chicago tomorrow interviewing for the OC job per Ian Rapoport on twitter. Would complete a pretty badass staff, if you ask me. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 07:03 PM) It's #2 preset behind Howard. They do play the same stuff a lot but it reminds me of high school. My wife listens to it quite a bit; I usually switch to a sports station or throw in my iPod, but I've been given it a listen lately and it's brilliant. Caught Spacehog's In the Meantime followed by Fell on Black Days on my way home from work tonight and was jamming out.

Any of you thirty somethings listen to the Lithium channel on SiriusXM? I'm addicted.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 12:07 PM) With the hard-on the media had about the government's response to Katrina, you don't think someone would have written a story about 20-30 bodies found with bullet holes from rifles shot at great distances? I mean that one is totally implausible. Edit: not to mention you'd have thousands of people in and around the superdome that would be hearing those gunshots, and helicopters circling the city almost nonstop that probably would have seen him. Perhaps I've been watching too much Madam Secretary and State of Affairs recently

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) Then we have a case of the Federal government sending in the US military to kill dozens of US citizens extrajudicially on US soil. I think it's more likely that the man who appeared to be a pathological liar was telling another self-aggrandizing lie than the alternative. Yeah, I don't doubt it...I was just thinking even if that was true, it doesn't seem like something that would be very easily corroborated in the first place.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) It's not like the top of the Superdome is some inconspicuous place. Plus there'd be the matter of a few dozen dead bodies shot with high-powered rifles. Amidst all that chaos though? I dunno, I wasn't there, but I seem to remember pandemonium for a few days there. These guys make a living of being unseen. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

Just curious...how or who would collaborate these Katrina stories, tbh?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) Yea, I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you here. You don't stick your dick in drama, and don't stick your dick in cray, there are ALWAYS better options. IF something out of the ordinary happens and you impregnate Miss Drama or Miss Cray, you'll get to spend the rest of your life wishing for that 2-20 minutes back. Well he didn't seem to like that advice.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 10:15 AM) Thank you all for your lack of help. Ha How about you just bone her and be done with it...

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 08:34 AM) Vic Fangio has to move into Elmwood Park And get some Johnny's Beef -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 06:59 AM) I thought it was good and Cooper was amazing Moore doesn't know the difference between WW2 and today's wars apparently so maybe we should send him out into an urban warfare area. It's pretty clear in the movie that Kyles duty was to protect his frontline guys. Nothing cowardly about that. Yeah, I thought the acting was the bright spot. Didn't love the movie otherwise.

I ordered the 6+ for work, love it (agree about the tablet replacement) but still not sure if I'd want to be lugging it around as my personal. I usually throw it in my back pocket...I don't like having it in my front pocket...too big. Will probably go with the 6 when I upgrade my personal in May.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) Hey shack where do you recommend for sports betting on/near the strip? I'll be there with a group of friends for the sweet 16/elite 8 rounds and last time we bet at Caesars and New York New York, so wondering if there are better places you know of. Ahh, depends what you like. They are all fairly similar. Caesars and the SuperBook are really large. If you are in to being able to bet as many different possible things as you can, those are good venues. If you like more of a hip scene, I like the Hard Rock, or the Palms. The new SLS is actually where I bet at and watch games at, since it's conveniently located for me and I have an online account with William Hill. SLS also has a pretty sweet strip-side outdoor bar, which not many people get to since it is on the north end of the Strip. A place some of the locals go to, which has some pretty good deals and some really nice waitresses is the M, at the 32 degrees sports bar, but that's a good 20 minutes off the Strip. I took some of my friends there for a Sunday during the NFL season, and they loved it. The good thing is you'll be here for the NCAA tournament, which is a really fun time. You'll be good no matter where you go. Tell me where you guys stay though and I can probably help you out with some other stuff too.

QUOTE (lord chas @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 06:26 AM) I will be in Vegas for the Super Bowl. Anyone know which casino has the best Super Bowl prop bets? Yes. The SuperBook located within the Westgate. The Westgate is the old Las Vegas Hilton.

QUOTE (South Sider @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 08:45 AM) MONDAY 10:40am: Scherzer will receive $210MM for seven years of work, but the contract has a very unusual structure, with Scherzer receiving $15MM per season for the next 14 years, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweets. That means the Nationals will be paying Scherzer through 2028. Also, Yahoo! Sports’ Jeff Passan tweets that the deal includes a $50MM signing bonus that will be paid out “over a portion of time” for tax reasons. That bonus would, presumably, be included in the $210MM total. Oh my...that is horrendous.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) If the Packers dont score it looks like basically everyone in this thread managed to lose. Talk about jinxing yourself. Good thing is at least the tie pushes the game to the over...have GB + 8.5 and over 44.5, but losing the prop bet sucks.
-
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) Hope anyone who took GB is enjoying their 24 point cushion. I had a strong feeling all week that GB would play them tough, and then this morning decided I would bet GB ml. Actually went further and bet GB -3.5 on a prop bet.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 06:28 AM) John Fox seems like a safe pick. Not very exciting, but little chance it ends in total disaster. Which is probably what the Bears are looking for. I actually do find it kind of exciting. His willingness to adapt to his personnel is at the very least an exciting quality for me. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) @ProFootballTalk: Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase will indeed be a candidate for the head-coaching job there, per source. Was going to say, Peyton is as good as gone if the entire staff has been dismissed. -
So if Mariota falls to the Bears somehow, do they take him?

Wow, very surprised in regards to the BMarshall stuff. Nary a soul complained about the guy for the last few years. Now all the sudden he's back to a woman beater and a whack job. Honestly, with as much of a mess that this locker room has been recently, I'm not comfortable judging anyone as a "cancer" because the entire damn team seemed dysfunctional. -

Lovie basically said the same thing in his opening press conference.
