QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) Man, it is going to suck to be a NYN fan next year. No LeBron, No Bosh, and now no Joe Johnson. @WojYahooNBA - Joe Johnson is thinking through several scenarios before taking Hawks offer of $119 million, but sources insist Knicks unappealing to him. The Knicks best course of action is probably to take their best shot at LeBron, and if that fails, then to sign at least one tier-two FA and the pound the trade market hard...it's possible they could get Melo and come out in decent shape.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) I just got fired. ? What happened Caff?

Gee, one can only imagine what that link is...

We need to convince Bosh to just tell the Raptors to take Deng in a sign and trade or get nothing in return. Then hope they say fine, we'll take nothing.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) I'm assuming that the rumors of Toronto not wanting Deng are true. I guess that's just speculation though. I think Sacramento would take him though.
-
By the way, that replica Bulls LeBron jersey is no longer listed at the Bulls store.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) No, they can't. Bosh is going to have to take just a little less if Lebron signs (or vice versa) http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/di...ap-room-summary They do not presently. They would need to move Deng.
-
They can get to two max contracts. The problem remains that if you do a sign and trade for Bosh, he'll make more money than LeBron, which isn't going to fly. I wonder if they can put that delicately enough to Bosh to make it clear to him.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) Since May 22nd, Beckham is 27/109 (.248/.261/.431/.692) with 7 doubles, 1 triple and 1 homer. Not entirely horrible...for all the hemming and hawing about him seemingly having it and losing it, that resembles an actual major league line for a little over a month. He's not really walking anymore at all, which frightens me a bit. Not sure how much of that is the pitchers going right at him and he just isn't punishing them for it, or if he has indeed been swinging at everything even marginally close.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:03 AM) Now stop for a moment and imagine D1 in their rotation and Masset in their bullpen. Anyway...yes, Guerrero is an MVP candidate, in the sense that he should finish in the top 10 if he continues at this pace. But there are 5 guys ahead of him in OPS. Morneau is nearly 100 points higher. He's not even leading his own team right now; Hamilton is. And some of the guys ahead of him, like Hamilton and Cano, play important defensive positions as well. The guys behind him haven't been too shabby with the glove either (Konerko and Beltre). Masset has been terrible again this year.

ENOUGH.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 12:02 AM) Toronto doesn't want Deng, so there would be no sign and trade with them if we get Bosh Why not? I am sure they could send him along to the Kings for something. I dunno, maybe Bosh passes on the extra money if he has a chance to play with LeBron, but I don't see him as that type of guy...

The Tiger Woods Marriage Saga Thread
iamshack replied to Heads22's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) Tiger's divorce is about to be official. Elin Nordegren gets $750 million dollars, sole physical custody of the kids, but she can never come out in public and talk about Tiger's flings when they were married. Tiger has to keep all girlfriends away from the kids, can only bring them around if they get married. WOW, $750 million f***ing dollars! http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2010/...-woods-divorce/ Good for you, Elin! -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) There is no way LBJ would be the least paid. There is no way LBJ would be the 2nd fiddle and quite frankly, LBJ will always be 2nd fiddle to Wade if it is in Miami. I can't even go on how stupid those rumors really were, imo. Do I get nervous, sure, but all sensible logic tells me it makes zero sense from LBJ's perspective. I still think the Bulls get one of the following: LBJ/Bosh, LBJ/Johnson, Bosh/Johnson But if Bosh comes as a sign and trade, and LeBron just as a FA, than Bosh will be more highly paid.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) The Bulls could do a sign and trade relativeily easily with Toronto and find a way to get Bosh at a max deal. It would be easy if they wanted Deng, a little harder if they didn't. The reason they don't think it would work for Miami is that Chicago has better assets to offer Toronto. That said, at the end of the day, Bosh holds all hte leverage, not Toronto, so at the end of the day, I think Toronto for the most part will take what they can get (albeit, I don't know if it would be just Deng, but Deng/Taj would be something they'd at least think about). And it frees up enough money for the Bulls to possibly go LBJ/Bosh/Ray Allen. The point I am trying to make is how is LeBron going to play with Bosh if Bosh is making more money than him? I agree with Bucher that it just is not happening.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) Actually ESPN said why Bosh, Wade and Lebron would work. You can sign unlimited minimum contracts, meaning that the other players would all be minimum guys. But if you saw Bucher, he explained why it would not work. In theory, the numbers add up, but you have to find NINE other guys willing to sign for nothing. He then went on to say that LeBron is not going to want to play with Bosh if Bosh is making more money because he came as a sign and trade.
-
So is Bosh definitely going to go as a sign and trade? If so, I just don't see any way that Bosh and LeBron end up on the same team. And yet, Bucher seems to think the two could go to Chicago, but not to Miami with Wade. I don't get that.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) When any opposing fans say, "Who's your daddy?" to Lebron, West can stand up and wave. Maybe you should quit while you're ahead...

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) "Yo LeBron. Don't forget to take out the garbage when we get home." well played, Mauer.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Three quality starts - two losses to KC. Kenny has gotta be working the phones like an NBA GM these days. Well, you win 2 of 3 if your pen doesn't give up 5 tonight. Of course, I doubt Greinke comes out unfocused if he didn't have that 6 run lead.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Jonah Hill's movie character. Well that's even less believable, because his character is probably not rich in the movie!

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) Flowers' upside is crashing fast. I think you have to be a bit more patient with catchers than other position players. I dunno if he'll ever turn into what he looked like he might a year ago, but he has the ability to be the best catcher we've had since Carlton Fisk.
