  1. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) UNI beat Old Dominion who beat the 6 seed of Notre Dame. ND getting a 6 was an absolute joke. There were people who thought ND was actually going to get that 11 seed right before it was announced, not the 6.
  2. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Their seeding screw job just screwed KU. KU didn't deserve to play UNI in the 2nd round just as much as UNI didn't deserve Kansas in the 2nd round. Thats why you have to look at more then "quality wins." Because your not just screwing the team by giving them a low seed, your screwing the teams they have to play. Maybe not, but UNI is the kind of team that seems to frustrate Bill Self's teams. I seem to remember Bucknell putting up a very similar game against Kansas in 05' or so?
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Seriously? I thought that was a hoax. Any insight into their experience? From what I understand, on eharmony they just ask you all kinds of stuff about your lifestyle, interests, etc., and pair you up with people of similar tastes. I think my bro's fiance is the first woman he met through there, so maybe it was luck, maybe it's just coincidence, I don't know. But for a lot of people these days it's just finding quality single people that is most of the battle, and I guess this does that for you. When I moved out here to Vegas, I didn't hardly know anyone, so I played around with match.com. Met a lot of cougars and provided myself with fun for a few months . Then I ended up meeting my now ex through there so I quit the site. Recently joined again after the ex and I called it quits and kind of hit it off with the first girl I met from there (just this week). The main difference is eharmony pairs you themselves, while with match you do the searching and then the introduction on your own. As for whether it can work, the two dudes I used to live with here are both close to getting engaged to women they found on match. Disclaimer: Being in Vegas, the dating atmosphere is definitely a bit different here. Women here are fed up with tourist dudes and more willing to try more non-traditional methods of finding good local men (because there probably are not as many). In Chicago, my guess is match and sites like that are still a bit more frowned-upon by a lot of quality singles (just my guess)...
  4. QUOTE (The Beast @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 02:35 AM) I always wondered if any of those website worked. Yahoo! personals looks decent but I never actually tried it. Hmm...is eHarmony.com legit or bull s***? My brother met his current fiance on eharmony. From what I understand, eharmony is more for people looking for serious relationships, while match is still kind of a hookup site.
  5. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Nope, we figured everything out a little while ago. Where the hell were you? Apparently on match.com, stirring up more trouble for myself. Did meet a really cool chick this week though. Have seen here 3 times and counting already...
  6. Any of you dudes ever use match.com to pick up the ladies?
  7. What? No one has any more relationship problems now?

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:29 PM) So I think I'm going to try and accomplish what I can from this after I get back from break. Do I try to get up early and do it in the morning, or afternoon/evening after teaching..... Gotta just figure out what works best for you...I usually try to do it between 2 and 6 PM for the most part.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) So I think i've finally finished punishing myself for last weekend's drinking and eating. Today I did double plyo. Are we supposed to be impressed by this?
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 01:49 PM) nice!! You CAN do something right after all!!! Ahh, his wife did most of the work I'm sure... Congrats AHB!

Yeah, but how good did you feel this morning? I am dragging from a day of no sleep, eating crap, and not working out.

  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Yes. I do a set of 50 (with sets of leg lifts to boot) and it kills me, but when I go on the elliptical it slows me down, but I pick up speed later on during the workout. For me, I limit what I can do during a day. Before, I did squats, leg lifts, push-ups, sit-ups, running, etc.. all in one day which killed me. I would say in a normal workout day, just take the day off to rest your leg muscles which helps me at least, or take a looooong hot bath (though I'm not a bath guy) to more or less relax (or massage if you will) the muscles. Or, you can just work on your body, and do conditioning the next day/morning. I'm sure others are probably more help than I am though, but I hope I helped alittle. BTW, to keep up with my theme, I'm down to 153 the last time I checked, so hopefully I can hit my 150 goal weight, though I might be shooting for 145 since I still got alittle fat in some areas of my 5'7 frame. Nice work Ger! Keep it up broseph!

Missed my workout for the first time today in 37 days. Had a tee time for 108 and didn't want to mess with Shoulders & Arms before playing golf. Then had to go meet a girl for St Patty's Day, and I must say, I'm not going to beat myself up about it too badly. This is one of the reasons I have been busting my ass like this for 8 weeks in the first place. Going to hit it tomorrow morning before the tourney starts. Woo!
  16. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 01:25 AM) I don't post on Soxtalk that often, but I read it all day, everyday. Kalapse, you are the best this website has. Wear it proudly. He's honestly the best or one of the best on any message board I have ever seen. And I don't even want to believe all his damn facts. But he brings it with every post. And I have to grudgingly admit he is almost always correct. That being said, I think Andruw Jones and Marky Teahan are going to have great years for us this year.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) LINK Is this deja vu, or did we talk about this the other day?
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) We had no national broadband policy and we left it to private industry or whatever the hell, and look: http://gizmodo.com/5390014/internet-speeds...-shown-visually For as technologically advanced as we are, that kind of sucks. Japan and S. Korea especially are just b****-slapping everybody else and paying a fraction of the cost for it. That's where we need to be but we're kind of running in place behind everyone else. Yeah, but you have to admit that this is where our size really hurts us. If all we had to infrastructure was something the size of California, I am sure we could be much farther along the line here than we are now...

Slackers! Plyo today, woo....always love the evenings after I've done plyo that day. Went on a date afterwards with a hot chick and killed that too!
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) I love watching the Rockies. They are my second favorite team, and they got a ton of young players. Fowler, Tulowitski, Stewart, Iannetta, Morales, Jimenez, Street, Smith, etc.. etc.. Like a college type clubhouse they got over there. You haven't even mentioned that Gonzalez guy yet...
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) Not going to disagree with you on Kotsay/De Aza. One thing worth noting about De Aza's Min. stats though is that even if he's had a poor batting average in some stops, he's actually had a decent OBP due to taking a good number of walks. Starting in A ball, batting average/obp .255 .346 .286 .370 .278 .346 .300 .370 Those are his minor league stops where he's had 100+ at bats since 2004. The problem is that mlb pitchers will go right at him and force him to put the ball in play.

You can use calipers of some kind, I know that. Started phase 3 today, nailed Chest & Back pretty well. Felt great to get back to those pushups again...

QUOTE (vandy125 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Yeah, I've noticed there are a lot of those comments on Amazon.com. So, I may just stay away from that, but it is not easy to throw $140 at it. Can you order it cheaper when one of the infomercials on it is going? Not sure. My advice would be to bite the bullet and order it from beachbody. If you want, you can pay in installments, so it doesn't seem as harsh. Trust me, after week 2, you're going to be like "damn, I am glad I did this." Gooch, you have any regrets?
