BOOM. Brandon f***ing Paul. I said it'd take a career type game. I loved that look by him too. Nice to have Illinois with some attitude. Been about 5 years since we've had that.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) You know the defender can be moving and it can still be a charge, right? Not sideways like that. He moved into him. That's a blocking foul.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) Seriously, complaining with how this game's been called? It's been a joke. Of all the questionable calls tonight, that was one of the more obvious ones. What are you talking about? This has been a great game for the officials. They can actually f***ing play instead of going possession for possession with a foul. Just saying Dakich is an idiot for saying that was a good charge call. The guy was totally moving.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) they never faced a great D this season. And San Fran never faced an offense like NO. Maybe the Lions, but they're really not on the same level. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against San Fran. I just think they're more a product of their schedule than anything else. They lost to the Ravens and pulled out a win against the Lions. Otherwise the schedule was pretty weak (Steelers were banged up the 2nd half of the season).

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) those games were at home.. How did the mighty Saints get beat by the Rams and Bucs? The same way the 49ers lost to the Cowboys and Cardinals, the Packers lost to KC and the Pats lost to the Bills. s*** happens in a 16 game season in the NFL.

NO has put up 40+ in 4 of its last 6 and have won 8 in a row. They're the best offense in the league right now. San Fran's strength is a good D and a running game. If they get down early, like the will, it's gonna be a looooooong game. 30-13 N.O.

Republican 2012 Nomination Thread
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) Change for change's sake isn't always a good plan. Not saying Obama deserves it, but I don't think any of these GOP candidates are what this country needs. What I DO think this country needs is Campaign Obama...not President Obama. If he does win a second term, I think you are going to see more of Campaign Obama. Because as was said so eloquently in the movie The American President, "...I was so busy keeping my job I forgot to do my job." And I think pretty much every president since Reagan probably falls into this category...and maybe even before. Eh, I think Bush I wasn't like that. He destroyed his reelection chances by raising taxes, which was the right move even though it was unpopular.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:01 AM) It may not seem like it, but he's shooting 50% from 3 on the season and 44% from the field overall (his career marks are 41% from 3 and 43% from the field). Yeah, I guess you're right after looking at his stats. Must be the wide open ones he misses at the most critical times (normally to break open a game or to close the gap and take momentum)

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) Jacksonville could be LA in a few years, that job could easily become a very desirable position. Rams I will give you, but Fisher seems to want the coach job pretty bad so he must see something he likes. I'm hoping that with a Univ of Illinois guy buying the team he'll bring them to Chicago. I don't know that I'll be a fan (right away), but I sure as hell would like the Bears to be a little nervous and have to work for a better product.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 08:50 AM) But the defense has to respect him because he can get hot at any time. He's also been shooting pretty darn good so far to start the season. Eh, the last game or two maybe. He was brutal the first week of the season.

So Rock what do you think the odds are that Illinois pulls off the upset tonight? I think it's going to take a career game from Leonard and either Brandon Paul or DJ Richardson. They also need to get the typical Big Ten home crowd officiating. I'm going with 72-57 OSU. One of those games where OSU is up 6-10 pts consistently, so I'll be teased for 2.5 hours into thinking that Illinois might make a run that never happens.
