  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 22, 2016 -> 11:07 PM) I may or may not have shed a tear or two at that. And f*** you Bran, could've not gone through all that s*** of you just had some patience. The children creating the nights watch is a heck of a twist, need to digest that. The Blood Raven could have prevented that with a simple "hey, when we go back to the time the CoF created the white walkers, don't let this guy touch you!"
  2. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ May 19, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) Well, it's official. I'm going to Maui. Can't believe I never really researched it. I was too focused on Kauai. Thanks to Steve and Kevo Mama's. Fish. House. Make reservations.
  3. QUOTE (Tex @ May 19, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) Right after this election we need to have a national discussion on how we can reward better candidates. Get rid of cable news and get rid of the 3 year election cycle. I'm almost to the point where I wish people would have more apathy towards federal politics. If people stopped caring no one would watch political TV, the media wouldn't cover politics 24/7/365 like it does, and the election cycle would be more reasonable (6 months, max). If political coverage was more C-Span than Fox/MSNBC, we'd all be better off.
  4. Finished up Uncharted 4 last night. I'll go with 8.5 out of 10. Very solid, very fun, but the amount of climbing was a real drag. If this had been the first game in the series it would have been an easy 10 out of 10 and the issue of climbing wouldn't have been a thought. But after 3 games i've had enough. That's really the only negative I can think of though. The game is gorgeous, the writing is good, the story is good, and the game play is really smooth.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Teams get enamored with players. Niko plays a style of stretch 4 that a lot of teams are looking to go and while he has his flaws, he is still young and absolutely talented, so I could see where a team gets enamored enough with Niko plus the 14 (and maybe something else) to allow the Bulls to move up a bit (not sure if we'd get into the top 5 or not). He's also a proven NBA player. Is he an all-star? No. Can he contribute? Yes. But you're not guaranteed to get that picking anywhere outside the top 2. Everyone is basically a project with potential after Simmons and Ingram.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 18, 2016 -> 11:26 AM) Kendrick Nunn pleads guilty to battery. He'll get 18 mos. court supervision, 100 hours community service, write apology letter. IMO, he should be off the team. He may not have any jail time but guilty to battery is still guilty and we shouldn't EVER allow that. Agreed. Though if they're allowing a player back that took a knife to someone's throat, not sure domestic violence is much worse.
  7. The guy on WGN this morning said the Bulls were considering hiring Butler's strength coach for the team.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ May 18, 2016 -> 10:32 AM) Um, yeah I don't think that's the message here. That message has already been sent out. Why else have Butler at the draft? He's the face of the franchise now.
  9. Also if you guys don't already, check out dansdeals.com. He occasionally throws up deals on shirts and business attire. A month ago I got a $300 Kenneth Cole blazer for $50, collared shirts for $15-16 a piece, etc.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ May 18, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) You guys have opened my eyes to getting my shirts custom tailored. That really is my main issue, they never fit right and I am always feeling uncomfortable in some different kind of way with each one. Have you tried slim fit shirts? If you know your neck and arm length size accurately, slim fit are basically custom shirts anyway, unless you have an abnormal body shape. They're tighter in the shoulders, chest and sides compared to traditional fit shirts which are more baggy. I was always hesitant to buy anything slim, but I lost a little bit of weight and now they're perfect. I had two sets of custom shirts made and they fit just the same but were way more expensive.
  11. And Dee Brown officially part of the Illinois Bball program, becoming their Director of Player Development.
  12. I own 10 but only wear 4-5. I've transitioned more into sport coats and a nice pair of slacks in the last year.
  13. Has Lebron ever beaten a good team on his way to the Finals? It's pathetic that Toronto is in the ECF.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:56 AM) You are an insane (and lucky) man. Birdie is 15 months now and we're out and about and doing awesome things and she's running around. I couldn't imagine hitting the reset button on caring for a newb. To each his own, go get em! You're in the golden era. 12-24 months. They're cute, learning and exploring new things. Then they find themselves and start to become more independent. The "no's" start. Tantrums start. Then you start dreaming about having a little baby/toddler again. Just wait.
  15. Has anyone found out why this suddenly became an issue in the last 7 days? Were there massive layoffs or something? I haven't had an issue at either airport in years.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 12, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) You really should play the first 3 first. It'd be nice to get all the references in 4, but you should play them just because they're also awesome and really fun. And you would never be able to go back and play them after 4 I don't think. The controls are just so much better through each game. I tried going back to 1 a few years ago and it was really tough after just playing 3.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) How many people had been sued before the RFRA push? I don't know, but the RFRA was equally unnecessary.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 13, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) 1) The federal government is responding to NC's law. 2) The federal government is actually capable of doing more than one thing at a time. For example, they can prosecute both minor crimes and major multi-state terrorism conspiracy charges. 3) What you said does not actually validate your "both sides" attempt. 4) You seem to have completely ignored that the basis for your argument, that these laws didn't change anything, is actually completely wrong. (1) The White House felt compelled to draft a letter and send it out to every school district stating the DoJ's position on trans rights. Yes, indirectly it's responding to NC, but its doing so nationally, not locally and specifically to NC and the law. (2) Sure it is, but it's still spending time/money/resources on an issue that affects so few people. Looking at this in the big picture, it's ridiculous our government is debating an issue like bathroom rights. That's my point. It's 20-f***ing-16. And we're arguing about bathroom rights. Not voting rights. Not property rights. Not employment rights. Where to go to the god damn bathroom. (3) Sorry you think that. (4) What did they change? Where did trans people go to the bathroom before? Yes, the NC law has now made it a mandate that they use their birth-gender associated bathroom, but you yourself earlier in this thread acknowledged that trans people have been going to those bathrooms unnoticed for years. It's embarrassing that a state passed a law mandating where someone goes to the bathroom and it's embarrassing that the federal government has to now basically campaign for the rights of people to go to a bathroom.
  19. But legally do you HAVE to get those cars repaired? I wouldn't be selling this thing, I'd just drive it until it dies.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 13, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) No, it's embarrassing for the bigots, and there's nothing to actually back up the "status quo" you claimed. Transgendered people who present as the gender they identify with (e.g. someone born a male but who now looks and acts female) did not go to the bathroom of the sex listed on their birth certificate as you seem to think they would. There's no dumb "both sides" going on here, there's one side being s***ty bigots. Yeah you're right. It's important for the federal government to spend time on something that affects so few people. Great use of resources. We don't have bigger and more important problems in this country. Bathroom rights is clearly the top priority.
  21. Anyone buy a car with a salvage title? I saw a listing online for an 2002 Tahoe that only has 100k miles on it. Looks great from the pictures and it's less than $4k. I'm thinking it'd be great as a family vacation vehicle that can tow something (like a pop-up camper) at a very, very minimal expense. But I have little to no idea what a salvage title entails when it comes to future repair work, insurance, any sec of state issues, etc.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 13, 2016 -> 10:46 AM) Weird how an issue that exploded thanks to several regressive states passing anti-trans laws is a "waste of time" for people to push back against, and that the federal government shouldn't be concerned about enforcing civil rights I guess. The status quo has not changed, even with the passing of that law. 6 months ago this was a non-issue and trans people went to the bathroom that the NC law is now just mandating they go to. A few sparse examples have popped up where trans people have complained about not being able to go to a certain bathroom, and now, 6 months later, it's a top story and priority in Washington. It's a typical American "problem." We got outraged about black people being shot (good job team!), now lets get outraged about 1000 people in the entire country not being able to go to the bathroom they want to go in. The whole thing is absolutely embarrassing, on both sides.
  23. I cannot believe this country, and specifically the federal government, is wasting this much time, effort, money and attention on this issue.
  24. We have a "mid size" SUV, a Ford Escape, and it's not really big enough for 2 car seats and a dog. Was ok with 1, but not 2.
