  1. Are you disputing that the overall production from Mullins is much different than Robert over the course of their careers? As far as I can tell, both rate (objectively) very similarly across offense, defense, and base running. In fact, it’s probably hard to find an active CF that compares as closely to Robert as Mullins does. Neither is a “power” hitter unless your definition of power hitter is different than mine.
  2. I don’t consider either a “power” hitter. Pete Alonso (Homer every 13.9 AB) and Aaron Judge (Homer every 11.3 AB) are power hitters. At the end of the day, Mullins and Robert have been pretty much equal at the plate over their careers - 109 vs 114 career wRC+. Above average hitters but nothing special.
  3. The interesting thing is Robert has only hit more than 14 homers in a season one time. I don’t know, the power surge in 2023 sure looks fluky to me when you look at his career numbers.
  4. You said Mullins is a “speed-based player” implying that most of his value comes from his speed. He has the same number of career homers as Robert, albeit in more PAs because he’s been healthier, and a similar career wRC+. If Mullins is a speed-based player then I suppose Robert is too but I don’t consider either that. Their speed allows them to be solid defenders in CF but when I think of speed-based players I think of Juan Pierre or Scotty Pods.
  5. Truly awful and the result of one idiot driver trying to save a few minutes I guess. Insane.
  6. What a heartbreaking story. Prayers for his friends and family as well as the others involved. 7 fatalities over a senseless driving act is just terrible. I didn’t know Heads but always seemed like a really good guy. RIP
  7. Mullins isn’t exactly Juan Pierre. He’s hit more homers than Robert since the start of the 2024 season along with a higher wRC+ by a sizable margin.
  8. Depends. If the asking price is considerably lower for Mullins then more teams will be involved. Also worth noting that Mullins has achieved a higher single season WAR (6.0) than Robert ever has so I would say the ceilings for both is debatable.
  9. Arroyo alone would be a great return for Robert. I’ll be surprised if they get a prospect that good in return for him.
  10. Has Korey Lee ever had a 3.9 fWAR season? Because Friedl has. Friedl has accumulated 4.4 fWAR since 2023. Robert has accumulated 5.6 fWAR since 2023. Robert has been the more productive player but not by a lot and appears to be a minimal upgrade in CF (and he’s a lot more expensive in salary terms). I guess they could move Robert to RF but then his bat plays down much more than it does in CF.
  11. That’s fair but if I can get a steady, consistent player like Mullins for a couple 40/45 FV prospects vs the package noted above for Robert, I’m definitely going with Mullins. Unless, of course, Robert returns to 2023 form, which to me looks like the outlier not the norm at this point.
  12. Orioles are 5 games back from a playoff spot and need to pass many teams along the way. It’s only May but if they’re 10+ games back two months from now Elias will have no choice but to sell - Mullins, Sugano, O’Hearn, Mountcastle, Eflin, etc
  13. 2 around T50 + 2 more around T200-250 isn’t THAT far off from 1 around T50 + 2 more around T150. Not when the piece going out is Crochet vs Robert whose values are very far apart.
  14. I mean, their starting CF has a better fWAR than Robert (barely) so I don’t know what this is meant to prove exactly. I don’t know if the O’s are quite ready to sell but if things get much worse for them they certainly will and Credic Mullins will be the hottest CF TDL candidate available as he wouldn’t cost much to acquire and has been a consistent 2+ WAR producer in CF over the past 5 seasons.
  15. Wow, I think you’re going to be very disappointed by the return if this is your line of thinking. The package you mention is close to what the Sox got for Crochet and he was far more valuable.
  16. Not every significant free agent signing is going to be a home run but that’s why you need to sign multiple. Adding Alonso and Santander (even for as bad as Santander has been) would move the Sox fWAR production out of their batters from second to last in mlb to just ahead of the Guardians.
  17. Dude, you’re totally going to jinx him. Watch him go 0-10 after this post.
  18. I want him off the team, yes. I would love for him to return to form over the next two months so they can get him off the roster and actually get something more than a bag of balls in return.
  19. Yea, I think it’s too much even in a one for one trade. I don’t think Robert returns a T100 MLB prospect at this point. Just not enough surplus value there as the option years at $20M per aren’t a bargain by any means if he isn’t better than a 2 WAR player now.
  20. He truly is fulfilling his destiny as Nicky 2.0. Can’t hit and apparently a dummy on the basepaths too.
  21. Oh I know but even having half a lineup that can maybe put up a .700 OPS is an improvement from last year. Would be great if Teel and Montgomery were solid pieces in the future as well. They really do need to start spending some money in FA though because they’ll never build a decent lineup organically.
  22. I will be very pleasantly surprised if Vargas turns into a legit mlb starter. It’s not much but stacking him with guys like quero, meidroth, Baldwin, and Sosa has the makings of a lineup that’s at least somewhat interesting.
