  1. Impressive. I think they have a great shot of 400 losses across 4 seasons. And people wonder why I turned negative on this club. They’re testing uncharted territory levels of futility.
  2. On pace for 105 losses now. They’d need to go 18-17 from here on out to avoid 100 losses again. Seems highly doubtful to me.
  3. 3-13 over last 16 games. I thought this was supposed to be a different and better team than the one from April?
  4. Moral of the story? Forget Stearns, forget Arnold. Hire Doug Melvin as a senior advisor to the White Sox. Back up the truck, whatever it takes.
  5. I’m not defending Getz. Simply pointing out that the Stearns hype is overblown imo.
  6. Brewers have been a solid organization for two decades, even before Stearns. I thought that 2011 team was going to the World Series.
  7. Ironically, Milwaukee has had more success than the Mets with a fraction of the payroll since Stearns departed.
  8. @WestEddy was singing the praises of this team on August 1. Saying stuff like he thought this was a new and improved team that could finish their remaining games close to .500. I laughed at the idea that this team could finish out the last two months of this season around .500. I guess time will tell but all I see is more of the same. Yes, the team is younger but that doesn’t mean they’re any good either. 4-11 since the TDL.
  9. Good point but it might be another 2 years before the Sox even sniff .500 let alone win 85 games
  10. That’s the dream at least
  11. It took Hahn until his 8th season as GM to make the playoffs. Low bar I know but that’s how long I expect this thread to last. You taking the over or under on Getz beating that?
  12. Oh yea, $20M next season for a weak side platoon player. Great
  13. Can we get an update on that fun graphic after like 5 games post TDL where it showed contenders missed out big time on trading for Robert? His OPS in August now sits at .648
  14. Payroll is certainly a factor but then again Miami is on pace for 19 more wins than the Sox with a lower payroll.
  15. Just before the last 10 games I was told Sox have a good shot of finishing their remaining games .500 because this was a new team. Uh huh
  16. Still on pace for 103 losses. Gonna have to get hot to avoid another 100 loss season.
  17. Quero 3 for last 21 Montgomery 2 for last 16 Teel 2 for last 19 ^If this keeps up combined with the starting rotation falling apart, it’s certainly possible
  18. I’m not saying how Stearns valued Robert was right or wrong, just that he clearly didn’t value him highly. If the best they were offering was something like Morabito, it’s easier to understand why Getz didn’t make a trade.
  19. https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/mets-refused-to-part-with-these-players-in-potential-luis-robert-trade-grant9 not even worth Acura in the Mets’ eyes yikes
  20. This is true but the one constant is it’s the same organization. I know, I know, Getz is transforming and modernizing the organization. I’ll believe it when I see it.
  21. Which is why I chuckled when posters last weekend were questioning my line of thinking that it’s not a foregone conclusion the young guys will continue to improve. Were these fans not around for the last rebuild??
  22. On pace for 103 losses with 47 games to go.
  23. On pace for 103 losses with 47 games to go.
  24. I’m still not convinced they avoid 100 losses this season. We’ll see.
