  1. Mariners lineup looks so much better after adding Suarez and Naylor
  2. You love setting yourself up for disappointment
  3. There’s nothing to celebrate until Ishbia starts throwing $ into this team
  4. No doubt but funny we’re celebrating a month in which they played a game under .500. The team as currently constructed with a few minor offseason additions is still a 90-95 loss team imo. It feels great for many because the bar was set so low after losing 121.
  5. Bad math
  6. Sure but they won’t play .500 ball the rest of the season.
  7. The last rebuild effort and complete lack of trying to sign any significant free agent in recent years really soured me. The bottom line is if they aren’t going to spend money on anything other than one year gap fills, they are destined for mediocrity at best. The only hope is that Ishbia’s involvement changes things but that’s likely several years away still.
  8. They won’t play .500 ball the rest of the way
  9. If we’ve learned anything, there’s no guarantee that the young guys will improve as they age. In fact, most of the last young core was better in their early years than their later years, Robert included. It’s fine to be optimistic but without significant free agent additions I don’t see this team sniffing .500 next season let alone competing for a playoff spot.
  10. Not necessarily. They could see improvement from some of the young guys but then see a step back from others as well as some of the old guys like Tauchman, Wilson, Houser (was the team’s leader in WAR so whoever replaces him), etc.
  11. Well, they’re a 100+ loss team this season so 90 something losses next season would be “better.”
  12. Honestly, without significant additions, it looks like another 90+ loss season.
  13. Obviously, Getz listened to that poster about not tearing it down and striving for 63 wins this season
  14. Crochet and Cease were relatively short lived. Robert has been on the trading block for almost two years.
  15. So we get to do this all over again in another 5 months? Great
  16. I wanted the Sox to trade Robert last winter and sign Santander, Bader, Alonso, and Kim. You’re not going to hit on every free agent signing, I know, but for every bad signing like Santander there’s a good one like Bader or Alonso.
  17. Possibly. I don’t think Cease will return much either at this point.
  18. Padres system after the top 2 is terrible. Maybe they can put together a volume package with Hightower and others.
  19. Even if they plan on being somewhat competitive, finding 1 WAR outfielders to replace Robert via free agency isn’t that hard to do.
  20. Slides in as #14 Sox prospect on mlb pipeline list. Higher than I expected.
  21. Hopefully it means the Sox actually want Clifford and not Vientos as the headliner.
