  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 05:16 PM) I heard it, you can download it on their podcast on the CBS website. A few weeks ago in crosstalk all of them were discussing Brandon Marshall and whether the Bears would keep him or not. Mannelly started to say he thought the Bears would keep him but Bernstein interrupted him and told him "agree with me and you will look smarter in a few months." Mannelly kind of stopped and said "well ok then" but you could tell Spiegel didn't like it. Today Spiegel blasted him for walking back his strong conviction that the Bears won't have him on the team. OOOHHHH. Bernstein can really be a jagoff sometimes. Like I have said before lately he has been so overwhelmingly annoying with this idea that he is the one who holds all knowledge in Chicago sports. He pretends to have these excellent inside sources that feed him this information and he goes all in with it like its absolute gold and then later when it turns out different you hear nothing from him. I am starting to hate the man. Like a lot, and I have listened to their show for years. Thanks Kyle.
  2. I asked this in catch-all but I dont want to wait on an answer. Did anyone listen to the transition of Spieg's and Bernstein today on the Score? Reading comments on Speig's FB page he really gave it to Bernstein but no one says what happened. I am curious to know what went down.
  3. Did anyone listen to the Spiegs and Bernstein transition on the Score today? What happened? People are congratulating Spiegs for given it to Bernstein on Spiegal's FB page but I don't know what it was for.
  4. OMG you guys are killing me talking about these deflated balls. I am deleting all your comments in here. Any mention of Brady and shriveled balls are being deleted!
  5. I know its fun to talk about for most people it seems but I have zero interest in "Deflate Gate". Nothing about it leads me to want to know more about it or follow another second of the story. I usually find myself getting sucked into these stories but this one is just plain boring.
  6. Okay so it appears on so many different levels the Bears have hit it out of the park this off season. I think I am more impressed with this off season than maybe any other that I can remember. They have established the strongest foundation we have seen probably ever to put this team in he right direction for years to come. This is how you build a team. From the ground up and not just bringing in a "draft guy" and hiring what you think is the next genius coach. Thank you Ernie and thank you Bear's for not f***ing this up.
  7. I really do not want Weiss because he is an egomaniac and a prick but right now I have to trust Fox. If he didn't feel that Weiss was the best man for the job he wouldn't hire him. Putting together a staff is one thing I am sure Fox will do well in.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 11:27 AM) Martz considers Gase one of the top 3 offensive minds in the league and I figure Gase has had an opportunity to learn from Manning and Martz as well as Mike McCoy (all well respected offensive minds). Martz might be a little insane but he flat out knows offense and he was the best OC we have had in Chicago during my lifetime (followed by Turner). I always wonder what would have been had Jay not gotten hurt that year cause that team was rolling at the right time. If we do in fact hire Gase (which is what I expect will happen), it will be a major coup. What will be better is if we can retain him for a few years before he gets his next job. For all I care, hopefully he is amazing and we can give him top money to stay on and be groomed to be Fox's replacement in 5-6 years. This is a big reason why other teams didnt bite on giving him an OC job. They dont want to bring in a guy that is going to bolt at the first opportunity next year for a HC position.
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) @AdamSchefter Bears considering handful of OC candidates, including Charlie Weis, SF's Geep Chryst, DET's Jim Bob Cooter, DEN's Adam Gase. Weis intriguing Give me any of those except for good ol Jim Bob.
  10. I am still shocked that Trestman was able to land the OC job with the Ravens. LOL I thought at best he would land a QB coach job or be right back in the CFL.
  11. Brian you into the more heftier women? I have plenty of those at my job if you are interested I could hook you up.
  12. QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 03:45 PM) It sounds a bit more like a Panda Express. This is wrong...but its absolute gold of a post.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Gase did not take the Jacksonville job. Does that point to him coming to the Bears? What else is out there for him at this point?
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) He was an absolute bust as a free agent signing for the Bucs. Werent all of their FA signings busts? Nothing worked for them last year in TB and I would bet under Fox and Fangio, Gholson could play well again.
  15. Yeah Brian you have to run from that one dude. That will certainly not be a happily ever after situation for you.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 11:50 AM) Good read on Fangio from MMQB and a quote from Harbaugh (this is a yr old). http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/17/vic-fangio-s...ve-coordinator/ The thing is Harbaugh is a freaking nut job and I have no idea if I can take what he is saying about him that seriously. He often says things just to get a rise out of people or over state something emphatically to get the point across just for s***s and giggles.
  17. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) This team might not look great next year (or the year after for that matter) but I'm insanely excited about where the organization is headed after the last 3 hires. Its going to be at least interesting with consistent improvement instead of constant embarrassment. It will be fun for sure to see how this team evolves.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) Presume with Fangio coming on board, it means we will not be spending money on Paea. Can't imagine he's a fit in a 3-4. I am fine with that. He had a career year in a contract year. He had never been healthy any other year before that that I recall. And you drafted two DT the year previously (albeit it was Emery, good lord).
  19. You guys confused the hell out of me. Is it confirmed to who is coming as DB and DL coach? Or did Laconfora misreport?
  20. Does this effect the next Samardijza contract in any way good or bad?
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) Night and Day. When he dodged specific answers, it didnt sound like he draped an English PHD over his words in order to distract people. And no men were grown, or will be grown. There must not be any systems of football to build the man with synergy in leadership.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) Why do I feel like that's a huge underpay for Fowler? I thought that too at first but if you look at his numbers the past couple of years they aren't overwhelming IMO. And the fact that Houston looked to deal him right away after a year isnt very promising. Do they have a loaded outfield to push him out?
  23. How does MLB even approve that kind of contract? To pay him into 2028? Seriously people.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 09:25 AM) Competent, not amazing. Welp, it appears that is the bar thats been set for next year. Just be competent across the board. LOL I guess I am fine with that after last years absolute mess.
