  1. QUOTE(Beastly @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) wasn't taking it personally...I was kidding with quickman Its okay, i just hope Burke doesn't get claimed, he's pretty good for a backup Is spring break almost over, time to go back to school
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Or Baka. Or a Democrat. Yeah I forgot to ask what the wife thought about the baka thing
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 06:11 AM) Don't take things so personally there Beastly. Widger has obviously impressed the Sox enough to be given an oppurtunity, and if Davis is traded, and Widger struggles, Burke is the next in line to get called up. True, well said
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) Mad Politte = quickman's twin. Only when I am talking to you. take it easy lightening.
  5. QUOTE(Beastly @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 05:14 AM) Totally no risk move, and its a good idea on KW's part. I'm disappointed in not keeping Burke and keeping Widger... I am not Widger is a better defensive catcher and seems to handle the pitchers just fine. Good move
  6. QUOTE(Beastly @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Let me start out by saying that Cliff Politte is garbage, and I found it absolute bulls*** that the White Sox couldn't find anyone better in free agency than that piece of s***. Secondly, trade Davis, I mean yeah, he was decent when he was with us, but he's nothing overly spectacular for a back-up. I like Burke better than Davis. The reason we've been carrying 3 catchers is because of injuries and liability of cash flow on the roster. It is silly to keep Davis and send Burke down, potentially losing him. Widger sucks, let him go. If we can pry Kim from the Red Sox, I say we take him. Seriously, I don't care about Bmac right now, we can save him for later. Or is there a rule that he has to be on the 40 at the start of the year or he can't be called up? I'd think we'd be able to get rid of Politte and Davis...it might work, if we got that 40 spot for BMac and that pitcher in Kim. I am a bit hung over , but here goes, what the hell are you talking about?
  7. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) As a fan, I'm far more excited about Sweeney than Anderson. His defense is stellar, he has excellent range, and I absolutely his swing. It's gourgeous. I wonder though. If Podsednik finds a home on the Southside, what are we going to do with the OF. I know we have Dye through next year, Rowand through 2007 (a little help on this one please) and I'm unsure of Podsednik's contract. If you guys could help me out with those OF contracts I'd really appreciate it. If Podsednik can play anywhere close to the level he was playing in his rookie campaign, he's not going anywhere. I have to admit, I love watching him play. He's so exciting and I think his speed is going to lead to a ton of runs at the top of the order. Are we looking at an Anderson-Rowand-Sweeny OF down the road? I'm deeply vexed. Addison, we may not see any of them, 9 out of ten don't make it. one year at a time my friend, but I do think your right, Pods is probably not a long term player for us, for many reasons, he is older and will slow down, and many base stealers can get injured because they run and slide so much. Its nice to have these back ups, if not to play later then to trade later.
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) I thought it was a top fifty list? starting to like your pictures again, thank you very much.
  9. Ok I hate to keep this thread going, but I see alot of reds ball. I have a big client in cinci and plan all my trips around reds home games. Danny Graves, has one foot in the grave. He is on his last leg. Good pitcher that is over pitched. Willy Mo is good ballplayer but will not be traded to the sox. Wish he would be.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Most people on this site know a lot more about the minor leaguers than Bill Melton. Hell Melton doesn't know one thing. he is like that Joe Bartage on the score. That guy is the dumbest thing on the radio, Melton is giving him a run.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) Jabroni and Keith, you guys sound like me and quickman ... without the underlying friendship. what friendship
  12. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) I am buying tickets to a game and there are two possible locations that I'm considering. Both are about the same price. I've never been to a game at U.S. Cellular so I'm wondering if someone can give me their opinion on which location is better. The two options are: 1. Upper level, behind home plate (slightly toward third base), row 10 2. Lower level, well down right field line, row 30 I tend to prefer the seats behind home plate, but I've heard that the upper level at the Cell is quite far back. I appreciate any advice. what game? I have tickets and would like to sell a few games off. PM me and I would be happy to sell you some, more than likely a better seat location than what your talking about.
  13. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) ^^^^everybody just needs to look at this post to know that mark is out 4-6 weeks. let me be clear, The Man = Kenny williams. He said Fracture out 4-6 weeks. his words not mine. When he is out four to six weeks, then come back to thread.
  14. I am out need to get back to work. Figure out which of our s***ty Minor leagers are going to pitch.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) What about the 11th? Wouldn't the #1 starter in Garcia be going off 3 days rest? And also, Buerhle's not going to just come straight back into the rotation when he's healthy. He's going to have to throw some innings down at the minors to iron out the kinks first. garcia ptiches on the 4th, then pitches on the 9th (5 days later) then ptiches on the 14th. (5days later0 Please help me understand why this math doesn't work.
  16. I still don't see the probelm here, I said it was an option, the other is BMAC, the other is Diaz, the other is a trade. they are all options. I am certain they will be looking at all of these.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) They play 4/6 to 4/11, off on the 12, then 4/13 to 4/27 before another day off on 4/28. Where the hell do you get 5 days rest in there...??? Steff they would not need a fifth starter until the 18th. they are off on the fifth and the 12th. they can go with a four man rotation on five days rest until the 18th. thats where I get it from.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Still, the Sox want El Duque as fresh as possible in August and September, and having a 4 man rotation wouldn't help this, even though they'd have some off days. Also if you have a 4 man rotation, how many pitchers do you carry? Do you give someone like Cotts the emergency 5th starter role if B-Mac isn't called up. How about the bench situation? not sure I understand, they would be pitching every 5th day just like they would if they had 5 starters. they would not need a fifth starter until April 18th. i am not saying thats what they will do, but its an option. in essence the fifth starter would only make two starts until beurhle gets back. Which would be the end of april.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) A four man rotation with those two fourty year old cubans? I thought you said you knew baseball?!?! Don't be so quick, they have days off the first two weeks, they would actually be working on five days rest. now think about it.
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) Yes.. thank God. What would we do around here without your contributions.. this is true!
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) No offense to you Brandon.. but this is a mistake IMO. it maybe steff, but he is the best we have right now, they could go with a four man for the first two weeks. Bmac's has many options left, and the free agaent clsock starts ticking when he comes north. Also he is very young. They may just try a four man. We will know later.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) So which is it.. your opinion.. or he is coming..? Both, my opinion was first and levine just said Bmac is now in the rotation. I am so glad I know baseball.
  23. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) Well then, I hope BMac is truly ready. Then when Buehrle comes back, and Bmac has been dazzling, they can send Contreras to the pen or trade him. Actaully I agree with this statement.
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) FWIW, the score just reported that he has ligament damage near his big toe on his foot, I think were definitely in the wait and see stage of this injury since NO ONE KNOWS what the injury even is!!!! No we are not, just heard Williams on ESPN 1000- Its a break and he said he is out 4-6 weeks. From the man.
  25. nope BMAC will come north and be the fifth pitcher. In my opiinion thats why he pitched 6 innings yesterday. they new this yesterday.
