QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Since he put on a Sox uni., the guy has made me very nervpus. Seems to give up the long ball and get into a lot of jams. His numbers don't tell the whole story. C'mon Freddy. He was perfect for seattle because it was a big ball park. Here he needs to buckle down as aboz said. Meche loves pitching against the sox. this will be a long game if we don't squeek at a couple of cheap runs. -

it would be nice to get one back here, and a manufactured run is even better -

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) It works for me, quicky. Try giving it a right-click and refresh to see if that works. The chat is working as I just jumped in there with no problems. Or the problem could be with that Commodore 64 you are posting with.... funny man

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) And if you get real brave, jump in the live chat. Just a warning, have a sense of humor, it gets pretty interesting at times. I can't get into the chat part what up with that

Freddie, you really should monitor the game thread tonight, you will never see more passion in your life. there are also more topics on the main palehose thread. its well worth the reading. both for laughs and to see how serious we are as fans!

QUOTE(marinergeek @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) My opinion is it was a great trade for both teams. Mariners were doubtful that we'd be able to sign Freddy and Sox management obvioulsy had the inside track on getting him to sign an extension. We're thrilled with what we got in return, but it looks like Reed and Olivo were spare parts for you guys. We're definitely missing Freddy's presence in the rotation. The guy was a bit inconsistent, but he's always been a work horse. Freddie works very slow, too slow, the defense gets unsettled, we need him though, he needs to come on strong and act like a number 1. he is more like a number 2.

QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) your right on sexton, he is tough he killed us when he was with the tribe. the key is keeping ichiro in check, AJ is having a hard time throwing out runners.

QUOTE(FreddyPatek @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) I think Joel pitched 6 innings of one run ball in Triple A Tacoma earlier this week so hopefully he is ready. Should be a great series. Watch out for Sexson. If he gets anything to hit he is destroying the ball right now. The sweep in KC was very encouraging to M's fans. We got our ass handed to us last year, so we were ready for something good to happen. your right on sexton, he is tough he killed us when he was with the tribe.

QUOTE(FreddyPatek @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) I think Jeremy is forcing it a bit. I have been to one game at Safeco so far and it really looked like he was pressing. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as my take is that he wants very badly to make a good impression and he seems very motivated. I love this guy. He looks smooth in the outfield and takes a good path to the ball. I really hope I can watch him handle center field at Safeco for many years. I think he will settle down in the next week or so and we will see the average creep up. I wouldn't expect too much in this series, I anticipate some nervousness on his part. We'll see. I have joked with quickman for two or three years that it's all smoke and mirrors with Moyer. How does he continually get guys out throwing 75 mph? I have no clue, although his location is probably among the best I have ever seen. I thought he was done last year, but the word is that he worked hard in the off season and has looked great in his first two starts. He usually starts slow and finishes strong. Well we have not been hitting well, but its a nice night and we should be ready for Joel.

-
Freddy patek, who are you kidding? I hope to see alot of you this weekend TL.

this is great info, I have informed another mariner fan, he will jump on soon. I like this very much. The key is keeping ichiro off the bases. AJ will never be able to throw him out.
-
I have informed a few friends who are mariner fans , please welcome them kindly and tell them the sox will kick there butts this weekend!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) We were actually recently approached by some Mariner's fans from another board, who were interested in making contact during their visit to Chicago. We kicked aroud some ideas and came up with this place as an experiment to see how it would work out. This place is for visiting fans of other teams to stop by and talk baseball while their team is playing the Sox, or to talk about trades, or anything related to baseball in general. This area will give us the option of talking to visiting fans, or if posters don't have any interest, they can just stick to Pale Hose Talk, and be around their bretheran Sox fans. This forum will be decently moderated, as we don't want to have an MLB/ESPN type board, and if that happens we will pull the plug on this board. We will also not allow visiting fans to abuse any of our members or rules, or they will not be allowed to stick around. And after that intro, we welcome in the Seattle Mariners and their visiting fans from SportSpot.net. If people have questions or comments, please feel free to PM me or post them. Where do they post, in this thread? or another?

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Wrong attitude at this point, IMO. Just because you are in first NINE GAMES into the season doesn't mean there aren't problems you can fix. I agree in fact i see more problems than positives right now. Our pitching and very timely hitting is doing it right now. We need to get hot.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) I agree with much of this -- the length of the contract worries me more than the amount. Although 3 years at $8 mil would be signed in an instant by the Sox (and should be). PK is making $9 mil this year, after all. If he comes close to replicating last year, bargaining will start at $10 mil or more. If the Sox could sign him at that rate now, for a three-year extension, it could end up being a bargain. We can always trade for mienkwitzcstzt. hell we want to be the twins anyway.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) I don't know why some of you discuss with quick... he's worse than a woman with his opinions.. What do you mean? I can't believe you said that, all you do is watch baseball, i want a divorce and half your money.
