Been away for awhile, someone used to post monthly screen backgrounders with the current schedule. Is anyone doing that anymore? if so where are they located?

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) It's insane that KW is being allowed to clean up the mess he created. it is fathom, this is JR loyalty getting in the way. When you meet everyday with the same people, you tend to start agreeing with them, never looking around. I was hoping that Larussa would somehow be part of the sox org, to get some different thinking around this team and ownership. It didnt happen. this is a huge mistake. Its like letting Bob Pulford continue to run the Blackhawks after he destroyed that team. JR needs an outsider that reports only to him.

Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) Join the Club!!! The ticket rep didnt sound surprised whatsoever. me too rock, but I started when we signed ventura, that told me we would rebuild. No other reason to sign a guy who never managed anywhere. You know I am actually relieved, having these tickets and Blackhawk tickets were draining. That said, I am very curious to see what we get for these guys. Sox will always have room to jump back in. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) Just want to add, according to multiple reports, after Marlins made the insane offer... Mark and agent contacted the Sox one more time to give them a chance to make a contending bid. KW said thanks, can't do it, good luck. If the reports are true, thats nice of that damn Hypocrite. Maybe he kept his word to give the sox the last chance. I am happy Mark is going to an exciting contending team and being paid for it. Unlike what we have here. -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Nobody reads the entire thread before posting. He can do all of those things, and it's good for him. That still doesn't stop him from being a hypocrite. we all need to check ourselves a bit on the hypocrisy front. I am certain every person is a hypocrite at some point. right god? -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) Thank you. So let me get this straight, he is suppose to forego 58 million dollars because a few years ago he said he wanted to spend more time with his family? Maybe his wife said Hey mark play for as long as you want, where else can you make 58 million. Do all you people donate your time to Occupy wall street? Its money, its america, he is a baseball player, I am certian he loves his family, I am certain his kids later in life when he is 50 will love the lifestyle he provides. I am certain his grandchildren will thank the heaven above that he put aside his hypocrisy for 58 million and signed down in florida as they rebuild that franchise with a manager he knows very well. I want to spend as much time with my family, but if Microsoft doubled my pay and said I need to work in london the next 4 years and my family blessed it, I gone. Despite the fact that I want to spend more time with my family. Situations only come to you once in awhile, if you don't bit they may never come again. -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 20, 2011 -> 08:15 AM) back up plan to soldier field if the field conditions continue to deteriorate or if they need to rush in field turf there can't NFL has an attendance minimum for stadiums. That is why the bears went to champaign. -
Let me also add, Morel is a better third baseman than Gamel. This to me doesnt make sense.

I am not sure how any of this makes any sense. Why in the world would the brewers want Rios?

Adam Dunn: The Least Exciting Player Ever
quickman replied to LittleHurt05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) I just went back and looked at pictures of Dunn. His waistline is a good 2-3 inches bigger. I don't know if that's why he's not hitting but he's bigger. Look at his double chins. So you think that being fat has stopped him from hitting home runs? What about prince fielder? He is fatter and hits just fine. Cabrera is fatter today than 3 years ago.Big Papi... fat. Frank thomas got fatter still hit home runs. I agree with Rock its mental. Quite frankly the only way to find out is to play out the season. What if he hits 20 home runs in the second half. Still fat? -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) If forum members want to post constant hyperbole and talk in absolutes, you will face potential suspensions (up to indefinite suspensions). Note: No warnings will be issued, so consider this your warning. JimH sends his regards!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 19, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Let's wait until he actually hits in the majors Exactly not only that but the word out of AZ is that they really don't like him that much. Who knows maybe he will turn it on, but he is not our problem nor will he become some super talent.
-
QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) I don't think he will be the left fielder. With Pierre gone who will be Ozzie"s "leadoff" guy? You know how Ozzie likes that type at the top of the order. I don't think that person is on the team so KW will need to find him one. I do think that he will be in right unless CQ straightens himself out. yes right, I should have clarified, any outfield postion. My point was that he needs to learn to play the position, right or left and a year in the minors wokring on that is the best option, unless we trade CQ. The sox really need to make Ramirez a leadoff hitter, if mitchell cannot be ready which I assume he wont be. ( talking about next year)
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 04:18 AM) Kenny needs to work non-stop on unloading Teahen to make room for Dayan. Viciedo is gonna be the starting RF next year. I would say if he is going to be the starting left fielder next year and we have control of him for 6 more years wouldn't you want him to play everyday in triple A so he learns the position and he can become the type of player we need next year? I say he goes down and of course can be a call up if an injury occurs. Otherwise giving him 8 at bats a week as a 4th outfielder really doesnt help the kid.
-
I watched the Angels today and the announcers mentioned the AJ ticket thing, they mentioned that Ozzie twittered it and were speculating that the sox do not need that type of stuff anymore and could be a distraction if this type of thing continues. Whats wrong with people? It was a speeding ticket which everyone gets, and Ozzie was having fun with it. hearing the announcers speculate on all this really gives you a perspective on what people are saying outside the city.
-
For those who have Direct TV the sox will play the angels and will be televised by angel tv on channel 692. Anyone who has the traditional sports package will be able to watch this game.

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
quickman replied to TheChrisSamsa's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Also remember throughout spring training teams will cut guys and some will be let go because they are out of options. The whitesox may end up picking up a pitcher in this way that can make 2 or 3 starts in april then head to pen if necessary. Phil humber does not send a message of all in. We need to do better and I am hoping that KW can pick up a pitcher in spring training. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 31, 2011 -> 07:57 PM) That is a steal if he produces like he has to this point. Especially when you think of the teams that could be looking for SS's in the coming years. Hey I know this is unrelated but remember when I told you freddie would sign for 1.5 mill?

QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) I'm not defending Oney, but I can appreciate how Jenks' comments would anger everyone in the organization. Oney is not representing the organization, but his actions may affect how the players communicate with Ozzie.
-
QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) You have focused the issue on the key point. No one disclosed any of Jenks' personal problems before. This recent disclosure is a response to Jenks' criticism of management for not having confidence in him. I think that you are absolutely right about how the other players would feel. Many of them may be as miffed at Jenks as Ozzie and Kenny probably are. Jenks is being an ingrate, and deserves to be called out. He let his team down by his off field behaviour, and has a lot of "chutzpah" to criticise the organization publically, after they covered for him for so long. Who has the "chutzpah"? The guillens live on this crap. This did not need to come from ONEY. Why wouldn't kenny williams respond if its so important to "put Jenks in his place?" A simple tweet and more effective would have been" We are dissapointed in Bobbys comments, As he and his family knows, the Whitesox have stood behind Bobby and his family through some tough personal times. We wish him well and hope he succeeds in every aspect of life" Now that is a professional statement, Not a statement from a 25 year old loud mouth who road his daddys coat tails his whole life. Personally, I think this dedication to the guillens need to stop. They continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Fans constantly hear that the locker room is a sanctuary, where players can talk freely and air there issues, and concerns. If I am playing baseball or have any job and come home one day and my wife says she is leaving me with the kids, it will effect me and how I perform at work, and I would need the confidence of my manager to keep that sacred and understand that I will not be right for a certain period of time. Little baby guillen who stills lives off of mommy and daddy will one day need to understand this. For now he is an idiot.
-
Oney behaving like this, sends a signal to the rest of the whitesox. Can't go to ozzie with your problems or when Oney is around you need to shut up, because Ozzie and his idiot sons can't keep there mouths shut. They will need to find someone else to talk to, which is ashame. A player should be able to go to his manager, as a leader, mentor and coach and share an issue that maybe affecting there play. That said, I am sure Bobby is not out of his problems and these will re-surfice once again fortunately not for the whitesox.
