You gotta remember though, Ozzie uses "his guys" too much, and Zambrano would undoubtedly be one of "his guys," good or bad.
-
This is in the hands of KW right now. If anything, it seems like his job is in more jeopardy then Ozzie's (if any of those reports about JR's loyalty to Ozzie are even half true). I don't think KW will be afraid to add a big bat, regardless of what Ozzie says, especially if this ball club loses more than a couple games in a row and loses ground in the race now that we are facing the AL again. If we revert back to the first 1/3 of the season Sox and fall out of the race, which is still possible considering the main reason we have won is because of superb pitching, the offense still is extremely inconsistent, there is gonna be a ton of heat on Kenny.

The only way I would even think about it is if the Cubs offered him and his entire contract for Linebrink or some s*** like that. Zambrano is a nutcase and not a good teammate. You think he'd be happy in a bullpen role? Yeah, he wants to win, but he's got more than a few screws loose in his head. He could only hurt the clubhouse.

I don't care how much he costs, I'd be willing to give up my left nut for a 3-4-5-6 of Rios, PK, Prince, and Quentin (if Quentin keeps hitting like he has a pair). -
I gotta go with the BCS National Championship Trophy, mainly because there are 120 FBS schools, yet only about a 1/10 of those schools has any snowballs chance in hell to even sniff the championship. But honestly though, its not that tough for the most talented team to win it, they usually do (Florida, Alabama). It's just the only a fraction of the teams have any chance of even making it to a BCS bowl. Thus, making it the toughest trophy to win. Look at Boise St., its virtually impossible for them to get a shot at it, and all they do is dominate.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Heh. Here's the closest looking to the ones I have. Mine are laced with vegan, breathable materials and a much goofier color scheme. Are you sure you aren't offending the other animals by wearing a shoe named after an animal that eats other animals?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) Konerko has to be on the team since Teixeira is still hitting like s***. You can take 3 extra 1B. considering the game will have the DH, an extra 1B can be considered the "reserve" DH. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) This is a random question, but how is the following play scored: Runner on 3rd, less than 2 outs. Deep fly that is an easy SF. Outfielder drops the ball allowing the batter to reach on an error. Does it still go into the scorebook for the batter as a SF RBI and no official at bat? I'm pretty sure it does but I had this debate with my friends last night and they said I was wrong and that it just went down as an error and thus cost the batter an out at bat. I believe you are correct, but it could go either way. However, the SF is one of the stupidest rules in baseball. I'm sure the batter wanted to fly out, not get a basehit... give me a break. If they have a sacrifice fly, they should also have a sacrifice grounder then.

The idea that since we are on a hot streak, we shouldn't try and improve this team is silly. Sure, we are on an incredible tear right now and playing great, but the offense as a whole is still wildly inconsistent. In fact, this would be the best time to make moves to improve the team. Don't forget that 2 weeks ago this was a god awful team. A 2 week hot streak shouldn't wipe the slate clean for everyone. We should take this opportunity now, grab it by the horns, and make sure we don't let it slip away by being complacent.

The only option out there that makes sense is David DeJesus, but as of now it seems the Royals are asking for a lot for him. But he'd be a huge upgrade in left field leading off for us.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) This WHAT I THINK happens here: Hinrich a done deal, Deng to Kings to shed salary. Bulls are going for Joe Johnson who said will take a discount to play with Bron, LeBron and Bosh get max contracts. Rose/JJ/Noah/Bosh/LeBron I know very little about basketball, yet I know that wouldn't even be fair.

For Beckham's sake, I really hope there is some strong, swirling winds playing tricks tonight, because he has been getting twisted up going back for pop ups like none other tonight. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:16 PM) And people weren't willing to give him up for Agon last year. If we only had a crystal ball. I know its easy to say now, but I never understood why everyone labeled him as a sure thing, cant miss superstar right from the beginning. I guess it was because we really haven't had any elite prospects since the early 90's. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) Beckham with just a horrific defensive game so far. Be nice if Quentin ever made a plus defensive play. I don't know if his bat is effecting his glove or what, but there has been 3 balls hit in Beckham's vicinity today, and he should have made at least 2 of the 3 plays, and he hasn't made a single one. And Quentin's gotta make that throw. If he throws it anywhere near home plate, he's got the out. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Well said...I'm more shocked at how infrequently Rios has K'd. I don't know this for a fact, but I gotta assume we are at the top or near the top for least amount of strikeouts as a total offense. I think Beckham leads the team with around 50. -

If we could somehow get Prince on this team, I would finally consider this team a legit threat. -

Someone tell Beckham to grow out a beard. -
The idea that you need 2 lefties in the pen is one of the most ridiculous and stupid ideas out there in baseball and by Ozzie. Having 2 good lefties is a luxury, not a necessity. First and foremost, you want someone who can get people out. You want at least 1 lefty who can get lefties out, but otherwise, you want pitchers to get outs. The fact that Randy Williams is only on the team because he is a lefty is one of the biggest jokes in baseball. He's not even good enough for mop up duty.
