QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 02:14 AM) It's the public address announcer, not just a random fan I know, but he is probably a baseball fan on top of it.

Hopefully Carter leaving early meant he was getting promoted to W-S.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/11/07 (L)

Even though Eaton is crap, he did one thing right and that was pitching around the only real hitter in the lineup right now, in PK. -
So, Cy Eaton is looking like a lock for the Cy Young and MVP awards, right? Also, is it likely that he starts the all-star game?

QUOTE(Wanne @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 06:50 PM) The whole thing is friggin stupid. Eject him...fine. They want to "protect the integrity of the game"...but put a completely inexperienced person out there to ump. How goddamn ridiculous is that?!? Friggin oversensitive rabbit ears. What if it was a completely crap call the ump made?!? It's all about money, and the fact that just a random baseball fan gets to be ump for one inning might sell more tickets then usual.

I don't want to rule anything out, but it seems more then likely the people who accused Uribe of shooting them were just con artists looking for money. I also hear that is a very common in the Dominican and places such as that. Oh well, that is barely pocket change to Uribe.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) why do u people say "chris who?" when talking about javy? what does that mean? It is something I do whenever Javy pitches, because people don't like the fact we gave up Chris Young for Javy. -

Javy will make Sox fans around the world at simultaneous times say "Chris Who?" Who will play first tonight? -
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) terrero and gonzalez looked awesome yesterday. gonzalaz is huge, is he a big time spect or just crap?

Damn... looks like Salty is gonna be a brave and be a waste at 1B. He is such a good defense catcher with a canon arm. I doubt Count would get him...

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) And honestly I don't mind that, although you'll get the pissimists like quickman saying we'll waste the draft picks or something. Well, if someone thinks that, they should think that KW would have traded whoever for "overrated prospects" anyway...

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) On a sidenote....f*** trading Jermaine Dye for a reliever. That would be assinine unless we are talking about getting some sort of absolute stud reliever that is super young and amazing (and at that point we would be talking about a closer, something this squad already has). Billingsley would be a starter for us, and if he failed at that, he has potential to be a dynamite reliever.
-
How about we look at it from a Padres point of view because they could use a the potential of a bat like Dye's as well. From looking at their prospects, they don't have much (well, compared to the Dodgers), but they have Matt Antonelli down in AA at 2B. He has been raking as well with a .313 average with 9 homers and 35 rbi's with 16 swipes (caught twice). He'd be nice to have as a real 2B prospect. Don't laugh when I mention this guy, but Royce Ring. He has been unhittable at AAA. He has a .68 ERA with 36 K's in 26 innings. As for major league talent, instead of Linebrink, I'd be more interested in Cla Meredith. He isn't the best reliever, but he is tough on righties. He could be our "ROOGY". Thoughts?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) Well consider that Ned Colletti traded Joel Guzman for Mark Hendrickson last season, so he's definitely shown he's not gun shy when it comes to trading his best prospects to help win now. Anything is possible with Colletti and KW dealing with each other. lol, when you put it that way...
-
Don't laugh at me... but WHY IN THE WORLD would the Dodgers trade Billingsley for anyone, especially Jermaine Dye? I was just watching some video of his starts last year and a few outings of his this year, and he has fantastic stuff. A GM would be brain dead to trade him. With that said, fi the Dodgers offered him straight up for Dye I'd except right there without a second thought. Call me crazy, but I don't think Colletti is even considering trading him for anything.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) Actually I could hear the sarcasm in the text. Well, you can hear sarcasm from text and I can see dead people. We all have our gifts.

Ryan Sweeney prospect of the month for July... bank on it
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Probably better than your ability to deal with sarcasm. lol, I had a feeling you were being sarcastic. But it is tough to tell if a person is being sarcastic on a message board.
-
Well, would his pinch hitting translate over to the AL where he would be starting everyday (at 2B) and rarely used as a pinch hitter where he would face tougher pitching?
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) I saw Dante Bichette hit for the cycle in person. So there. Nice.

Speaking of Ribs, and going to RibFest this year? I go every year for the 4th of July and have some of the best Ribs in the world. I usually eat a whole family of pigs when I go there.
-
what's the love-fest for Betemit about? I like him as well, but he has just been bad since the second half of last year. And why do you think he could automatically play 2B? He has played a total of maybe 10 games there. Also, I seriously question his work ethic and what his range would be like at 2B as has looked fat and slow. He is listed at 6'3" and 230 lbs. Sounds more like a corner infielder to me. The only intriguing thing about him his that he has drawn 23 walks in 96 AB's. But I am not sure what to think about that as he has never been a walk man to begin with.
-
How about Dye, Crede and maybe a decent prospect for Broxton and Kemp?
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) am i the only one who would rather have broxton? I retract this statement.

Well a few positives I noticed at the yard yesterday...

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) Really? I didn't see the game but it would seem like Triple-A Day didn't do all that well. It was me who mentioned Day...
