I think JD could go to any of the Padres, Dodgers, or DBacks. They all could use someone like him. The guy I want most from any of those teams though is Billingsley.
-
That's why the Dodgers have a good chance to be compete year in and year out. They have a good management that isn't scared to make a big move, to go along with a good scouting department. Wish we had that.

If I were to deal one player on this team...

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 06:45 AM) If we could get a lot for him I wouldn't have a problem with it. His loss of velocity coupled with his weight worries me. Not to mention he has a history of injuries. -
well, if you want to get drunk and have some crazy fun and pick fights, Wrigley is the place to be.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 11:46 PM) Wow. It just set in for me. I think I might seriously shed a tear if Buehrle is dealt. No joke. you woman.

from looking at things, it doesn't look like the Mariners have the right pieces for a trade if they aren't willing to depart from Jones.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) If there was some possible way of prying Salty away from the Braves that would be wonderful. That would be a dream come true, but I only see that happening if we involve the man in your sig, sadly.

While I love Thome as everyone does, it would be wisest to move him. The only problem is that Thome wanted to come "home" as well win a championship. But to be perfectly honest though, I don't see it happening.

How about Clement, Morrow, and another B prospect for Buehrle? I'd do that.
-
I assume Clement would be involved with any trade with them. Ohh, what about Morrow...

looking at some of those scores from 02 and 03, I forgot how good of a combo Schilling and Johnson were.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 08:55 PM) This is not the NFL combine. they do the 40 there

Dukes has what, 12 kids already and is only 23? And that .193 average is hot right now. He will likely do what NSS72 said, but I'd like to add to the fact that we'd probably here about him later on for being arrested for the murder of one of his girlfriends.

Also, I'm in favor of keeping Iguchi, especially if it will give us a better chance of signing Ichiro.

I've heard good things about the new command and conquer and I used to love that game back in the n64 days. I thought about buying it, but decided to save my money for different games. Also, if you like RTS games, Sierra has one coming out in September for the PC, World in Conflict, and Tom Clancy has one coming out sometime in 2007 in EndWar for the next gen systems and PC.

I actually like Jenkins, and he could be signed to a decent contract, and as long as he isn't a type A free agent, I'd be in favor of bringing him in. I like Terrero as well, but he is more of a platoon/backup player. He and Jenkins could make a pretty good platoon as Jenkins struggles against left handed pitching. Jenkins could get around 400 AB's, and Terrero around 300 as he would also fill in at CF and LF here and there.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) Then what do you say of his 1 triple from last season? You got me there... but I'm not about to call him slow or lacking of speed unless I see some 60 times.
-
I don't think you should rate someone's speed by how many bases they attempt to steal. Just because Cano doesn't steal a lot doesn't mean he's not fast but rather that he is just ins't good at getting reads and jumps. I think he is pretty fast guy as he does have 4 triples this season. That's how I'll judge his speed.
-
I think you have to let whoever is your pitcher pitch in that situation, rookie or not...

QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) The Red Sox and A's don't have much at 2B. Not sure if Tad is enough to get anything back of value, though. What is wrong with Peroria for the Red Sox, something wrong with a .300 average from your rookie SS? And when he isn't playing, Alex Cora has done an excellent job filling in. And Ellis for the A's has put up pretty identical stats expcept he plays MUCH better D. EDIT: Ellis' numbers are actually quite a bit better.

Realistic Best/Worst Case Scenerios for 2007?

when will rookie ball begin?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Abbott first came up, didn't he show some nice power potential. Didn't he hit something like 10-13 homers in around 200 AB's? Also, Sweeney's homer was the RF, so hopefully that meant he turned on a fastball on the inner part. I am ready to call Sweeney back up and Owens down.
