I think Buehrle for Milledge and Pelfry would be a very fair trade. The Mets get Buehrle for 2-3 months and first dibs on him, or 2 draft picks. We get a talented OF and a SP with some good stuff.

QUOTE(lord chas @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) i predict 3 strikeouts followed by a 460 ft dinger sounds pretty reasonable. On a side note, I always liked JoBo.
-
I have been talking to some Met fans, and they think Pelfry and Milledge would be too much.
-
I like him as a hitter, so if we could get him, I wouldn't mind.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) Well, sometimes situations do change...like the recent collapse of the Mets which has helped the Braves move up to the point where they're breathing down their necks. Andruw Jones gets hot at some point, and perhaps the Braves start thinking they're one player away. I hope so, cause I really want Salty.

This thread is to depressing.

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) But those picks would be 3 years at best from impacting the major league team, and carry a lot more risk of flaming out/injury than a guy already at Aa or AAA. Plus, 2 more picks means 2 more signing bonuses to pay out, and the Sox don't seem to like doing that. The Richar trade makes it look like KW is shopping for "prospects" at AA and AAA that can play in the bigs in 2008. So, I really doubt the Sox keep Dye and hoard picks. That's not their philosophy. Well, but someone like Scott Hairston isn't going to make a big difference. He is really only a bench/platoon player, at best. We could find people in free agency similar to him, and not give up anything.

I don't know, but when I was just flipping by, I think I saw Elisha Cuthbert. Is it her? If so, I might have to watch more of it

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:22 AM) Pure speculation, but if Dye hits well I think Williams goes close to the deadline before realizing that he can only get a B prospect for Dye and sends him packing for someone like Hairston or Brooks Brown. That would be incredibly stupid because no matter what, we would receive type A compensation for Dye in free agency.

Aaron Cunningham Traded to Zona for IF Danny Richar

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 08:35 PM) Not to mention some pretty good sources from this site said his stuff is back to being pretty damn good. Floyd intrigues me more than anyone else in our system right now to be honest. IIRC, Floyd was one of the guys that Phillie didn't want to trade and keep. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) Carlos Lee and Magglio Ordonez turned out alright. Please, quit the nonsense. This is the nature of the game and the nature of prospects. Every team has more players flop than those that turn out to be good. Well, to be fair, neither Lee or Ordonez were brought in here in the KW reign as GM. -
QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) I can't wait for Pods and Erstad to come back because these AAA players are miserable. (With the exception of Fields) like those two are much better, if any!

QUOTE(beautox @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) i was under the impression that jose has a ntc until after this season, isn't that correct? Yes, that is why I only see the Mets as a possible trading partner with him. With El Duque there, he might be willing to waive his ntc to be back with his friend and fellow cuban. The only problem with my theory is that he'd be back in the spot light in New York, but he handled the spotlight pretty well in 05 and for the first half of 06 before his injury. Another team I could see him waiving his ntc is Arizona. Livan Hernandez is there and he is Duque's brother, so maybe he and Contreras have a relationship. Also, Arizona is a good warm spot for older players.

QUOTE(Chet Lemon @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 10:49 AM) I never knew this about Iguchi and my respect for him will drop if it is true. actually, for someone like me who would be sad to see Iguchi go (mainly because of 05), this makes it easier. I really want 2B Matt Antonelli from the San Diego organization. He has been raking in AA, and could be ready as soon as this september. -
I don't know about you guys, but I "tivo" watch these games. I just pause the game for 10-15 minutes and watch something else for that time, and then I just fast forward through the game. It has gotten so predictable what will happen. I make a fun little game out of it. And then when I run out of time, I just repeat the pausing and watching something else. I usually only did this for games I had to record since I was out or something, but I just give up. Might as well clean some stuff off of the tivo while I skim through the game.

Lance striking out 8 people today, nice. Sounds like his curve was really biting today, and only one walk. I know he has been struggling with his control this season. I know a lot of people aren't to high on him, but he has produced at every level he's been at. He sounds like what Hawk would call a true pitcher, otherwise known as a pitcher that is very grindy. Sweeney with 2 more hits. I really want to see him up and starting in LF.
-
I think Ankiel could make a pretty good bench player. Sure, his numbers are a bit inflated because he does play in the PCL, but he could provide a lefty bat off the bench with some pop and speed. It is ironic how as a pitcher, he walked everyone, but as a hitter, he never walks. Also, if the team ever needs a pitcher due to overwork or whatever, he'd be a good option to throw out there.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) His on-base is so high because he stands on the plate almost literally. It's bulls*** to be honest. I'm just going to say it right now that this is one guy I will not be rooting for due to bitterness. Don't blame the person for crowding the plate. If any pitchers now-a-days were smart, they knock him down everytime. And if you say he'll just let it hit him, well, he'd have to have some big stones to stand there and let a fastball hit him right in the chin.

who was that guy who was absolutely nuts for the DBacks in spring training? Collaspo I think it was. -

Not a fan of the trade, but then again, I've never seen either play before, and Richar is more MLB ready, I guess. Seems to me he could be more of a utility guy and not so much of an everyday player. -
Carter is ridiculous, and he should have been up to, at least, High A Ball yesterday. Floyd being Floyd, and it's nice to see Sisco really working on that control . Sweeney is a stud.

Hahaha! So, was Zambrainless yelling at the ump for "squeezing" the plate? I wonder why Soriano didn't moonwalk back to the dugout on that out... ahahahahahahahaha!
-
"they'll never prove that we took illegal performance enhancing drugs! hahahaha!"
-
After what Soriano did yesterday, a message needed to be sent. That is garbage what he did, and if I was a pitcher, next time Soriano came up to bat, he would be eating dirt. what inning did the fight happen? So when the game is achieved, I could go directly to the fight.

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/mlb/minorl...rt.jsp?c_id=cws Is this new? I never noticed this before, and when I was looking around the site, under "Rosters" they had a column named as "Prospect Report" I thought I'd just throw this out there for everyone.
