  1. well, for starters, the Marlins lineup isn't as slow as molasses. Secondly, it seems like the majority of our 2 baggers are down the line. The Marlins hit them into the gaps, which means more time to round the bases.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) I was at the game. Fields was pissed at himself. The CF was camping under the ball until it started going 100 feet over his head. The wind was gusting, and he hit it very high. Yeah, I meant to ask that. So the wind was blowing out? That was a MAJOR league flyball by Fields though.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) He's either scored or driven in 11 of the 34 runs the last week. He was pretty fortunate last night's 3 run homer caught a jet stream. That was a can of corn. or was it shear power by Fields?
  4. when I was a kid, I used to love kauffman stadium. I loved seeing the water falls they had.
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) My dislike for the cub has Barrett at the top of my list of guys I want to get red hot. I hate(d) barret with a passsion by the way. I wonder who the cub is targeting as their next catcher. Coye Hill has been their catcher, and Bowen is a decent catcher. Maybe Pudge in the offseason?
  6. Minor trade idea... Brian Anderson for Brad Lillibridge.
  7. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 07:55 AM) I read somewhere in spring training that the Sox were having him develop a 2 seamer. Is he still working on this and does anyone know how he's making out with it? IIRC, KW was saying that in the offseason, his 2-seamer developed really well and resembled Garland's... But as we learned, KW was a lot of talk this offseason (Massett a "tic" below Jenks)
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 08:47 AM) Yep, but they said he reinjured it last week. It's to the point where we should really consider trading him. 3 words for ya... No Trade Clause.
  9. I agree with Phil Rogers with this one. PREDICTION: Buehrle gets traded to the Cardinals where he signs an extension with them worth 6-7 years between 100-115 million
  10. yep, he is defiantly a grinder in the mold of someone like Ryan Theriot, IMO.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 05:33 PM) It's not a probably not, there's absolutely a 0 percent chance the Mets trade David Wright. It's not even worth mentioning. Well, I'm not a big fan of David Wright's swing, and I don't think he is going to be dominating the national league for years to come like the hype in New York is making it sound like. With that being said, yeah, no way the Mets trade him. I'm just an amateur scout, so what do I know? I think I even spelt amateur wrong.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) I definitely cheated and was quite surprised. LIAR! QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 05:32 PM) Cause I know all.
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 11:33 PM) Can anyone guess who this is? Don't cheat.. Just hope that a high draft pick can rediscover his talent, even if it means going all the way back to A ball. sadly, I cheated. I drew a complete blank. I am sure the answer will surprise many though.
  14. If the White Sox do go into fire-sale mode, or at least mini-fire sale mode, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hall shipped off to a contender as he has really wanted to be on a contending team for a while now, I think.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) It would be interesting watching Ozzie and Dusty breaking s*** down on BBTN. Ozzie would finally be able to let loose whenever he wants, it would be some great tv. I really like Dusty on BBTN. He is very good on analysis. Same goes for Eric Young, but I can't stand his voice.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) The end of his press conference was very interesting. He backed himself, KW and JR while throwing his players under the bus. The losing is starting to get to Ozzie. I'm watching him on Comcast right now, he looks like s***. I really think Ozzie might just end up quiting. I'd hope he'd take Joey Cora with him. I doubt either would be much different, if any, as managers. Razor Shines for 08!
  17. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) I'm not even concerned with getting much more than ridding ourselves of the contract. true that.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) I really can't disagree with much of what Ozzie said. Good managers have good players, and it's clear Ozzie doesn't have many at his disposal. I would get tired of seeing the same old s*** over and over again to. one could say that he his also hinting to his GM and saying give me some f***ing players that don't suck.
  19. It is the players fault for not preforming, but is it their fault for aging and degressing? Maybe in some cases...
  20. Ozzie agrees with Fathom... he is a bad manager.
  21. I think we could probably get more for Contreras in the offseason rather then at the break. If Contreras finishes off this season around .500 with an ERA under 4.5, I think we could probably get a pretty good prospect for him.
  22. : Farmer on the postgame show is just laughable. Is he senile yet?
  23. I read your comments from the offseason on how you felt the Phillies made you too mechanical instead of just letting you pitch. Being with the White Sox organization now, do you feel that has changed at all? Has your mechanics and/or approach on the mound changed at all? Of the Charlotte pitching staff, besides yourself, who do you think has the best stuff? What are some of the other players like down at Charlotte and who do you hang out with? How do you like it in Charlotte compared to some of your other minor league stops? ------- Also, great work on being able to set up an interview like this Jason!
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) Billingsley isn't out of the question. The Dodgers could now look to add another starter plus they still have Hendrickson and Tomko as options. Basically put it makes it a little less likely but definitely not out of the possibility. Plus you now have the potential for a larger deal involving Contreras and Dye. You know what, we should really stop blinding ourselves with this false hope, IMO. Contreras has a full ntc, and he likes Chicago. Maybe we could convince him to waive, but maybe not. And call me crazy, but I don't see even Colletti trading someone like Billingsley for Dye. Just my point of view, I'm not saying you're wrong or anything though.
  25. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) Can we please just disband the idea of bunting? It is killing our team. Who is teaching the hitters how to bunt? Because for as long as I can remember, even dating back to 05, this team can't bunt if their life depended on it. The only guy on this team that can bunt is Garland.
