QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) Isn't he already like 25 years old? Around there, but I'd still take him...

I personally am a big fan of Reyes and would want him with any trade involving the Cards. He struggled this year, but he has a big time change up. I didn't get to see any of his outings this year, but last year after he practically whooped the White Sox (except Thome) I watched a couple more of his outings. I think he is going to be a stud with some more work.

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) Terrero is signed to a one year deal, which is one reason why he shouldn't be considered prospect. If you want to see him in the OF next season, the Sox will have to sign him again. Which shouldn't be a problem. The term prospect is mainly given to guys in the minors and such, but it actually mean the possibility of something, so IMO, anyone could be considered a prospect.

Verlander, Miller, and Porcello are gonna make one hell of a young trio... I hate the tigers more then anything right now. But hey, let me know when and if they win a world series anytime soon. At least I have something!

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 11:45 PM) BULL! (Maybe I'm an idiot, or misreading, but I see Buehrle's game as the top game there. Correct me if I'm wrong.) They didn't update the list yet. Buehrle's ranked as a 94, and the ranking for Verlander's tonight was a 95.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) Or be stuck with JD for the rest of the season... That is why it is good for Dye to break out in games we get rocked. Hopefully if we continue to lose and him raise those stats a little bit, we could get more in return. I really hope that Dye pads his stats a little bit for the next week and a half, and by the end of Interleague play, the Dye rumors start to really heat up, and he is trade by July. But if the Sox get within the 4-5 mark of the Wild Card and Dye starts to hit, false hope might set in and then the Sox bomb once again vs. the tougher AL. -
Whenever you face only 27 batters and only allow ONE baserunner, that is a better game. Strikeouts are cool and all, but an out is an out. Plus, ESPN just hates the White Sox.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) I'll blow my brains if Jenks is dealt this season. I don't know... Jenks has a TON of value. And I don't think we will ever see him be an elite closer in this league with his fastball only sitting in the 94-96 range. But then again, general managers aren't pounding on my door and trying to hire me as a scout... -
nice.

I watched a little of the game Saturday or Sunday night, forget which day, but I saw Curtis put a nice swing on a pitch and rip a single to RF...

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) Nope -- you only forfeit it if the pick is #16 or lower (ie 16-30). We might lose our second rounder, but not our first. ahh gotcha. I thought so, but I was reading some stuff and I got confused. I was reading about the new rules in the draft for next year though, and I really like them. I just thought I'd throw that in there Also, we have to give props to Verlander. Throwing a no-no, especially this early in his career must be something else for him. But Buerhle's no-no > Verlander's

What about a combo of Buehrle and Jenks for Salty, Lillibridge/Escobar, and Devine? -

When I got home to watch the game on Tivo, I got a little surprise when I saw the back-to-back homers and felt kinda excited to watch the rest of the game. That feeling quickly changed midway through the bottom of the first. Hey, at least if Dye keeps hitting like that, we could possibly get Billingsley. -
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) And will be for the forseeable future. I'll say right now, if losing enough games to select #2 overall allows us to draft a pitcher of Justin Verlander's calibur I'd support it. The season is over. It doesn't matter whether we finish with 70 or 81 wins. If we would sign someone like Ichiro, we would have to forfiet that pick to the Mariners though, correct?

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) And your crazy. And this is comming from probably the biggest Hamels fan. I love Hamels but over Santana and even a heartbeat? I'll have what your smoking. Not quite yet even though I had him in my top 5 and Santana was left off cause I wanted to change it up a bit. The reasoning behind my pick is because he is what, 23-24? He is young, from what I have seen, it doesn't like he should ever have any arm problems, and will only get better within the next 2-3 years. I think if I am going to build a rotation around a guy, Hamels is that guy. And to think, the White Sox came within 1 pick of drafting him, but instead got Royce Ring. But then again, he still would have probably been traded for Robby Alomar. -
interesting article.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) I assume none of you will be watching the game tonight since the outcome is already certain. Be sure to post later on and tell us what happened on "America's Got Talent" or the Cubs game tonight. Oh, I'm gonna watch, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Best case scenerio, the Sox pull out a great win and my day becomes a little better. Worst case scenerio, the Sox suck once again and I don't get pissed because I knew that was gonna happen. I like to keep my standards low. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) Unless you get 1 really, really good player. Yeah, but IIRC, Jon Adkins wasn't considered to be top of the line talent... -

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) The Sox weren't going to get Billingsley for Dye anyway. There are a lot more attractive options for LA out there (like Dunn) that aren't hitting .216 with a bad knee. I think the Sox will hold onto to Dye till the deadline in vain hope of turining things around and you'll see a Jon Adkins-like return for him. It would be asinine to trade Dye for anything less then 2 good prospects/young ML players because it is a guarante that we get the 2 draft picks in free agency anyway. -

So, it looks like the odds of us getting shut out two straight days is a very good possibility. To go along with the fact that Hamels is a filthy SOB, we've never seen him before. This has the makings of a rough night of baseball, once again. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) can someone explain to me when cole hamels became the greatest pitcher ever to live? yes he is a fantastic young pitcher, and i know our offense is struggling, but please lets give his nutsack a little air...its not like hes santana yet If I could choose between Hamels, Santana, and Peavy, I'd take Hamels in a heart beat. -
Paul Konerko: "No matter what happens from here on out, we'll always have this in our pocket." So true.

If the Reds get Salty, I'm going to be more pissed then if they got Billingsley. -
We'll make your pitcher look like Cy Young.
