Well, I guess it all depends on your prerogative. I can see why some like him because of his stats, and who can blame them.

I just realized that if Porcello doesn't sign with the Tigers and goes to college, there would be a good chance of us passing him again in 3 years, since it is very likely this team will be picking in the top 15 at least, with the direction this organization is going. I can't stand watching Owens play anymore. He is nothing short of atrocious at the plate. I know some might disagree with this and rightfully so, but I'd like to see a Owens and Sweeney swap right. Also, how much longer until Wing and Vazquez get called up?

I just got home... The Griffith pick in the 2nd makes me happier. Fathom, you called the Ely pick (just not in the right round though ). Ely looks to have a live arm though. He really gives it all on the mound though, kinda like MacDougal... From watching Hunt's video, I'm to impressed. He has a 3/4-sidearm delivery so that could help fool some hitters (possible roogy?). He has two different fastballs it seems. One that runs in on righties and another that has some sinking action. He also has a decent curve/slider (couldn't really tell which one it was). Not to bad of a pick, I guess. Why did we pass up on the somewhat local kid with Crosby? He could have been a steal. I won't say much about Nathan Jones as they don't have a video on him (but that should tell you something if they don't have a scouting video on him though). IIRC, the used to be a WWE wrestler with the name Nathan Jones

You know what, if Porcello was off the board or announced that he was going to go to college, I wouldn't be so opposed to the pick. But passing on Porcello makes me hate Poreda.
