Scott was a pretty good starter in 2001, and he has complained about not given the chance to start this year, especially since the majority of their starters have struggled. This might just be a "just in case" trade if we don't trade for another starter. Otherwise, he is great long relief.

Other, meaning Jake Peavy if he's not part of the Giles/Kendall deal. It looks like the Padres will give up O. Perez and Nady for those two or nothing. If that's the case, they might trade the Jakester for a Carlos Lee or Carl Everett for next season's big opening in the new ballpark. Add possibly Tejada to the mix and boy I'm excited as sh1t about my local team next year.

Jarvis has won his last 4 decisions, which we 2 against the D'Backs (one against the Unit) and 2 against the Giants, on Saturday he handed them their only loss on a 9-game homestand. He is currently being talked about in a deal for JD Drew, but if that deal doesn't go down, KW ought to be watching closely and make a late call Thursday night to Kevin Towers.
