  1. I could not tell, does batting order matter? If the same 9 guys are on the field but they are batting in a different order, that is a different lineup correct?
  2. QUOTE(NUKE @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 12:55 PM) Doing just fine. These days we're having far more difficulty fighting off boredom than anything else. We're just trying to run out the clock at this point. Some more good news, though, I now know the exact date I'll be leaving Baghdad. That would be April 6th. If you throw in travel time and such, I fully expect to be home in the US and back at my home base in Kansas on the 10th or 11th. That's great news!
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 08:28 AM) But let's leave Tex out of this... He didn't say 215 pesos* Based on today's exchange rate of 10.758 pesos to US$1
  4. Good luck to Foulke against everyone else except us.
  5. It is a workplace, just like an office or any other place that people work at. These are adult men, being asked to act like other adult men at work. But somehow they can't be successful following the same rules as every other adult who holds a job in the US. How sad that they can't act like grownups tyhat they are stuck in some High School mode. And I can't believe that anyone would advocate for immoral behavior over moral. Practice poraility in private and immorality in public!? Wow, someone's momma raised them right. Let's, get united behind immorality!!
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) My laptop is probably 6 months old(HP Dv2000). Right now, I have the Wireless G Router at home, but want to upgrade, because recent streams have been coming in choppy. Check what card you're laptop has, you will only go as fast as the slowest component. You may also wish to tune up your sysstems. Defrag the drives, check if you have a bunch of processes running in the background, etc.

  10. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) I know I'm in the vast minority on this, but I don't think it's a great idea to borrow $200M from China to "stimulate" our economy. Having said that, I sure as hell won't turn down the check. The best part is we'll have all sorts of new Americans who will be paying back that loan and the interest, because it is a free gift for us. Where will I spend it? Same as Jim, but I'm spending it in Mexico where you're money goes farther . . . I'm going to carefully analyse which industries are the hardest hit and need the most help, factoring in US content in both labor and materials. Once I determine where I can help US industry the most I will buy a new MP3 player and wireless printer for my home network. Gotta help those that loaned us the money.

    QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 05:55 PM) Kind of like buying a more expensive more well made car....MMm hmmm Or kind of like putting $50 in an investment and buying $30 jeans MMm hmmm
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Excerpts from Obama's presidential announcement from February of 2007: Source I would do the same thing for Senator Clinton if I could but she decided not to announce her candidacy to the American people since she was the inevitable nominee. Obama to Hillary "I said change first in THIS CAMPAIGN, so you can't use it." so ok dude, whatever. If the best thing going for your candidate is he said change first, great. But in every campaign in the past 200 years, the candidates have talked about change. If that truly is Obama's theme, he's the lightest weight candidate out there. Thomas Jefferson used change as his campaign theme in 1796 (Washington ran unopposed in 1792) against former Vice President John Adams. Obama "Gore invented the Internet and I invented change!"

    QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) All y'all people wearing some cruddy jeans other than Levi's are probably the same shifty people who like ketchup on their hotdogs. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) Apparently you've never been to Texas... PA understands down here it's Wrangler, if they're good 'nuff for George Strait, they're good 'nuff for me. Slightly long so they "stack" on my boots properly.
  14. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) Chet Coppock, btw, is a Chicago radio has-been from a simpler time. Simpler time? For simpler people? Gee talking about offensive I guess us simple old folks are lucky to have y'all around to learn us something. Not all of us use a Mac . . .
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:33 PM) So let me get this straight. You would consider not voting for Obama because of some random guy on a White Sox message board? Great rationale I must say. When someone seems to be an Obama expert and all they have is a $500 unpaid bill and the use of "change", it creates an image of the candidate that is not favorable in my eyes. Using straight talk express? Sounds great to me. Converts. Same thing if they started speaking out against a border fence, guest worker program, etc. I guess the difference is if you view those as simply advertising gimmicks or positions. If you ant change, and every candidate has now agreed to that position, you win, right? Or is the slogan change just a tool to get your candidate elected and you don't want the other candidates to use that tool? But if you are just posting and not trying to convert anyone to vote for Obama, then my feedback isn't necessary.
  16. And of course, we're doing it to support our Troops!
  17. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) First she copies Obama's campaign slogan of "Change" and now it's "Yes We Can". Does she have an original thought? I guess imitation is the best form of flattery. Change is a new campaign slogan Btw, any thoughts on Obama not paying his bills on time? Did he get that idea from Hillary or did Hillary get that idea from him? I'm not even a Hillary fan, but your petty attacks is pushing me away from Obama in a hurry.
  18. I really dislike it when a campaign tries tomake the smallest misstep seem like a huge problem. A slip of the tongue, an unpaid bill, a candidate's middle name, a pin on his/her lapel. There are so many big issues, that I can give a rip about what color his socks are or which team he wants to win the Super Bowl.

  21. This is pretty funny sqwert And what partisan site did I find that gem? http://www.barackobama.com/2007/07/16/small_donors_give_big_to_obama.php
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 09:01 AM) Landlord: Clinton staff stiffed me on rent Pretty common with every campaign. The accounts payable job is huge and not really a key factor in getting someone elected. When I was Editor of my college newspaper, we only rans ads with up front money. This story will be repeated dozens and dozens of times, from local to national. What makes it fun is the partisan comments from the opponents that try and make it the BIGGEST THING EVER! Err, wait, I mean this is why we should not elect a Democrat this cycle. This is so typical of Democratic behavior. McCain '08
  23. Do your homework. I hate lazy criminals
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 08:41 AM) I've never understood the venomous hatred for Curt Schilling. Sure, he's outspoken, sure, he's crazy-religious, sure, he might speak up when not needed. But he's always been a gamer, its not his fault the media blew the bloody sock out of proportion. He's taken the right stance on many issues including steroids and that weird ass device that checks Umpires on strike zones. Again, he can be a pain, but he's always been fun to watch, he's done it the right way, and he's a solid pitcher who at one point was one of the league's best. The game would be lucky to have more like him. Pretty much sums up my feelings.
