Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 12:25 PM) I don't know what a "verticle" is, but it sounds gross. I'm just giving you crap. There is a sliding scale. I agree, but I picture some guy in 1957 hearing that someone lost $140 mil and will spend two years in jail and he'd probably think it was crazy. So what will we think is crazy in 50 years, besides Mike's 10,000,000 post -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) The Royals....they may just beat out the Sox in the cellar battle

Brian Anderson w00t why spend more?

The lineup I fear the most is Chicago's, by a wide margin. I do not worry about what the other teams have going in.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 10:31 AM) There's slippery slope... and then there is Tex's 5.13 vertical drop. 50 years would not be a 5.13, but wouldn't that be the same vertical drop that took down Vick? -
QUOTE(Soxy @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) Spot the professor with tenure (or ABD graduate student)!

When every single CF signs and is "over paid" guess what? That's the market. That isn't overpaid, that is the current price. Anderson and count the money! Rest easy we're in fourth place but haven't signed any bad contracts

4.75 of 5 completed. Part of my Lit final was outside of class. About an hour of class left for this semester, then four weeks of break. I'm also taking two weeks vacation, so they next couple of weeks should be sweet.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 08:56 AM) That's the key. He didn't just kill dogs, though to do so for no good reason would be bad enough. This was the systematic abuse and torture of the animals. My original comment was, as a society, we have changed in the past 50 years. Is this where it ends, with dogs and cats, or does it get expanded? If two dogs are naturally fighting in your neighborhood, will we someday be held responsible if we do not try and stop it? Again someone worrying about the a-bomb getting dropped from Russia With Love, would find it unbelievable that a guy would lose $140 million dollars and spend two months in prison over dogs. -

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 02:09 AM) you now have the right to do any or all of the following 1. b**** as much as possible (I'd expect way more than this) 2. Freak out on your teacher for being a meanie/inconsiderate asshole (whichever suits the situation better) 3. Get as drunk as possible (and then come posting on here) 4. pretty much anything else I am waiting for him to post grades and see if he reconsidered one of my papers.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) Comparing dog fighting to mouse traps? Fifty years ago dogs did not have much standing. We have extended legal protection to animals, I wonder how far it will go. You can shoot some animals for sport some of the year but not others. We can shoot some birds for sport some of the year, but not others and still other birds may never be shot. You may catch some fish during some of the year, but not others. So mammals, birds, fish, are being protected with jail a possible outcome. Why not rodents? I'm with most of y'all around here that it is a despicable act, but thinking about the carnage we inflict on animals, why are dogs singles out for extra protection? Dairy cows are bulldozed into the ground when their milk output declines to where it costs too much to feed them. We do not process sick or injured animals for market, so many are killed and never used. It just seems all too random and inconsistent. -
Come on have a heart, it's the best I could do . . .

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) A healthy right knee. You can't always get what you want, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you knee'd

It's sad when you're at a baseball game and realize that you'll never have the money, status or talent that the guys on the field take for granted. And it gets even worse when the grounds crew gives way to the players. (Anthony Myers) http://www.sedatedape.com -=++=- I don't know how it would work exactly, but to be on the safe side, if I ever get sent to prison I would definitely select the "Maximum Cavity Protection" toothpaste. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) Being your own boss is amazing. I'm the only one at my client site this week so while I'll be working a lot of hours I also have full flexibility in the sense I can work those hours in whatever fashion I want (if i want a 2 hr lunch or to come in super early and in return leave early I can). And truly being your own boss, as in owning your own company, you can come in super early leave super later and pay yourself waaaaay under minimum wage, at least in the beginning I know a few around here will recognize that. There is something to be said for someone else worrying about making payroll, etc.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 02:52 PM) Clothing and shoes will always do well in brick and mortar - online only works so well for fitting. Also anything that tends to be bought with a need for expertise. For example, Tex, if some guy decided he wanted to start backpacking, he's probably going to want to go to REI or something to ask some advice. And the clerks at REI will tell you a lot of people will ask questions, try on, set up, aply and then walk out, log on, and buy on-line. There was a very cantankerous argument at backpacker.com's about that subject. Some said if you ain't gonna buy, never walk in and bother the clerks. Others, myself included, said walk in and at least give them a chance to sell you something. Maybe you'll buy the sleeping bag at campmore, but you may buy some other stuff at their store.

Kenny not worried about Danks & Floyd as #4 & 5
Texsox replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Kenny has to talk to the media. the ticket office is begging him to give the fans good news and help them sell tickets. Who could have predicted E-Lo shooting up, or crashing down? Same with those three. We could have a twenty game winner in that crowd. Or they may combine for twenty. If they were on Detroit, we'd be shivering in our boots, calling them the greatest back end rotation in baseball, but they're ours so they potentially suck. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Lol, I worked at a Michaels arts and crafts store.... and I have no clue what you two are talking about. Good classes over there. Come on, you have to have some beautiful women walking in?!
