Senator Larry Craig convicted of lewd conduct in men's bathroom

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 08:21 AM) Tex, frame it how you want, but by writing 'who's allegations can't be disproved', you (well, the reporter, not YOU) are representing that as the truth. Bad writing? Probably, which is what I am trying to point out here. Just like people who hang nooses on their own office doors to get attention, people will make crap up to ride the publicity train. And reporters generally try very hard to discredit those people. I wonder if they decided to not print those allegations, and Craig happened to be a Dem, what you would be saying? Perhaps the liberal media protecting a Dem? And these allegations about Craig have been out there for years and years. Perhaps he's been smeared for all these years, but he was arrested,m and it is a legit news story. -
QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) oh god yeah, scotch is known as the "old man booze" in this apartment, but we love it. And at least on college campuses, I agree with you, vodka is a chick drink I think there is a lot more peer pressure on what to drink when you are in college. As you get older you drink what you like, not to proove your manhood.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 08:45 AM) /waits for Rex to point out again that Hillary has authorized the request... yet still we have seen nothing... That is a legit concern. Every President has been very guarded about what is released from the office. That protects future Presidents. I rather appreciate the consistency that every President has shown, both Dem and Rep. At some point they all seem to understand and value the traditions and needs of future office holders.

I guess Hillary didn't vote for her husband in 1992

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) Sure, there allagations can't be 'disproved', but can they be proved, or it is just he said/he said? We all know he is scum, but it seems like shoddy reporting reporting on one persons comment as fact. Just curious if any off them can prove it, other than by saying Craig can't disprove it. Must not have been anything juicy to come out of the debate other than CNN losing their credibility, so they have to go attack someone, anyone, whoever is easiest. So reporting what people are saying is wrong? So then why cover any speeches until everything that is said can be verified? It's like covering an arrest. -
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 09:58 AM) I thought it was touching. Isn't that what wakes and funerals are for?

With a few steak dinners and eating a salad each day, I'm thinking one a day and hopefully the hotel will have some decent paper. I know some people can not go when they are in unfamiliar surroundings, but I think K-Dub can handle it.

The best team I saw this year was LSU. The are the only "unbeaten in regulation" team this season. I think putting them in the title game was within the realm of right, but I understand the pissed off fans. -
I guess my long shot pick LSU has a chance.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 08:45 PM) I'm surprised that they're all these people who like Vodka this much. I guess maybe it's a regional thing, but no one (except girls, no offense. Just how it is) really drink Vodka. I'd say most of my friends drink whiskey. The only thing I like vodka in is a Bloody Mary, which happens to be one of my favorite mixed drinks. I guess I've had it with lemonade once too, and I remember that it wasn't that bad. Kinda curious to what y'all think? Is drinking whiskey just more of a Southern thing? Regional, over here you see some whiskey, but top shelf tequila also sells well. Gin and Vodka for Martinis. I also was just thinking how Pimms and soda was a great summer drink but I have not seen a bottle of Pimms since I moved.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) From rotoworld: As well as Washington's dealt with the situation overall, this strikes me as a very dumb tribute. Yes it does. Put twelve guys out there and take the penalty because it will take two to replace him.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 08:41 AM) So next time the autoworkers go on strike, they should picket the Oscars, since they are the biggest event in town? That makes no sense. I can see them picketing the movie and tv studios, but a debate? That just shows that the candidates priorities are to the unions instead of the general public. Although I guess it IS a good thing that they cacel it. With each debate comes even more promises of how much money they will spend. I thought they were striking against the networks and companies that produce TV shows. So why wouldn't they picket any event those people were putting on? So using your autoworker analogy, striking the Oscars would be silly, but picketing at an autoshow would make sense. I guess writers are not the general public. You would be a great campaign staffer, looking for ways to exploit whatever your opponent is or is not doing. I don't think this will give your guys much play. The Unions are the Dems traditional support and screwing over your friends may be* something the GOP would do, but I think supporting those that have supported you is loyal and the right thing to do. Based on the coverage the average America seems to believe that. *but I doubt they would.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) Seriously, I made that mistake and pretty soon I won't even be a top 10 poster, haha. Congrats Steve!!!!! The jury is out on that being a mistake or not.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 03:38 AM) She quit working for them in April, but she found a hidden key? When did she find it and where was this key hidden ?? I'm guessing they had an extra key stashed around the area in case someone locked themselves out. Two bad they did not have too to give her* *A special tribute to two.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) OK, NOW I read that the Dem debate in LA is being cancelled because the writers were going to picket it. OK, First, why are writers picketing a debate? They don't write the questions (the news media does that!), and if they write the answers, well then that tells us everythign we need to know about the Dems. If the writers decide to picket a Hillary townhall of an Obama fundraiser, would the candidates not show up and cross the lines out of 'respect'? If the candidates can't even stand up to a union now, how are they going to stand up to special interests if they are elected? Not one of them appears to have the testicular fortitude to point out the irrelevance of a presidential debate to the writers strike, nor the will to demonstrate their commitment to open political discourse by crossing the line and exposing it for a fraud. The Republicans couldn't have written a better PR script, even if they could hire a writer right now. Are DVD residuals now a higher political interest than the Democratic Presidential Primary elections? They are picketing the debate because it is the biggest entertainment event happening in town. High profile, brings even more attention to their strike. I guess they could picket some video store grand opening, but I doubt it would offer much bang for the buck. Unions have supported Dem candidates at a higher rate than GOP candidates. And the Dems are generally pro working class. So it would seem natural to me that they would honor the picket line. And everyone, Dem and GOP, employs speech writers, well maybe all except Thompson, and you're right, that would explain a lot. LA is an entertainment union town, makes perfect sense to me that the debate would be canceled.
