This is one of those really stupid ideas that no one ever supports, yet somehow get passed. It doesn't reflect the values of any Americans.

That's old school. I haven't heard the word used that way since the early 70s. And then it was by older people.

I watched my buddy's son pitch last night. Kids good. Sophomore playing Varsity for a really good program. He had been out for a couple weeks so it took a couple innings to settle himself down, but after giving up 2 and 1 runs the first two innings he cruised the rest of the night in a 13-3 complete game win. Now the question, what the hell is a "courtesy runner" for the catcher? Basically whenever the catcher got on base, and he was always on base it seemed, they could bring in a courtesy runner. The reasoning was to speed up the game by having the catcher ready with his gear on. Is this national? When did it start? And, while I really like the DH at the mlb level, I am against it in High School, College, and Minors.

That is the one thing that bothers me is when these laws are used to move these guys to other cities.

Eric Montanez, 21, of the charity group Food Not Bombs was charged with violating a controversial law against feeding large groups of destitute people in the city center, police said Thursday. Montanez was filmed by undercover officers Wednesday as he served "30 unidentified persons food from a large pot utilizing a ladle," according to an arrest affidavit. The Orlando area is home to Disney World and Universal Studios Florida. The Orlando law, which is supported by local business owners who say the homeless drive away customers but has been challenged in court by civil rights groups, allows charities to feed more than 25 people at a time within two miles (3.2 kilometers) of Orlando City Hall only if they have a special permit. They can get two permits a year. Police collected a vial of the stew Montanez was serving as evidence. Police spokeswoman Barbara Jones said in an e-mail it was the first time anyone had been arrested under the feeding ban. Montanez was charged with a misdemeanor.

Budgeting is a huge part of their jobs and if we are spending money on it, I want the officials to know what is going on.
