  1. Linked Earlier the family faced this . . . They received a repreave from Texas lawmakers. So who decides if someone should live or die? Lawmakers? Judges? Doctors? Family? Some combination?
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:42 PM) It is a slang term. The most common definition would probably be wimp. So 'f**' meaning wuss or wimp used as verb. "To show timidity or cowardice; chicken out." (from dictionary.com) You always f** out on me. You always 'wuss' out on me. You always 'wimp' out on me. You always 'chicken out' on me. Seems about right to me. So then homosexual = wuss, wimp, chicken out, etc? Again, it doesn't make sense to me, but I guess I am old

    Is Vista that bad?

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) That's odd that everyone is mentioning the difficulties with the wireless internet connection. For me, it was pretty damn easy. Much easier, in fact, than what I had to go through with my sister's computer which runs XP. As far as drivers, I only had to download 1 from a 3rd party, that being my HP printer. Everything else, from speakers, externals hard drive, external burner, and wireless PCI card have all been a snap. Even my iPod and iTunes was easy. Maybe I'm just lucky... That's been my experience. The only problem I've been having is with Firefox and Windows Media Player and CNN video.

    Hipster Bingo!

Wait, I clicked the link. Miller High Life is my cheap guzzling beer
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) First off, that courtesy runner cannot enter the game during that half inning. If he enters the game later on they can use a different courtesy runner, using the same original rules. By half inning I assume that means he can not be used as a pitch batter.
  6. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) It seems the defenders of the Goracle go for the intellectual insults rather that the lowbrow ones when confronting those that dare expose the Goracle to the light. NOT. http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.cfm?acti...URDOCK-04-05-07 Ironic isn't it

    Hipster Bingo!

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:58 AM) Next hipster beer: Hamm's. Book it. It was Stroh's pounders for a while when I was in college. Returnable bottles.
  8. Impossible to read that without thinking of M*A*S*H. I love that book. I am reading Arthur Ransoms' Swallows and Amazons, my Sailing Director recomended it so that I would have an idea of his inspirations for the program he will be running for me this summer. So far very cool.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:29 AM) I just find it funny that they've managed to try to copy Mac OS but still came up short. Since both companies are designing for the same human form, there should be similarities. I like it. There is a learning curve.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) When did they do the league wide retirement of 42 anyway? 1997 50th Anniversary.
  11. "IN GREEN ZONE, SCOUTINGS MERITS REBUILDING" BAGHDAD: Karar Smilee has a friend in Canada. The 12-year-old Iraqui boy doesn't know his friend's name and hasn't seen his face, but he's a friend, nonetheless, Krar said. "I met him on the Internet. I like the Internet," he said Thursday after receiving a patch for his participation in the Internet jamboree in October along with other Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from around the world. U.S. forces and Iraqis are working to rebuild the once robust Scouting organization in Iraq, starting with a group of elementary puplis in the heavily protected Green Zone of Baghdad. "The Iraqis are going through a very difficult time and want to see the light at the end of the tunnel," said Nima Motashar, president of the Green Zone Council of Iraqi Scouts. "There are more than 6 million students in Iraqi. We know how active kids can be, so we are trying to teach them first, Scout values," from being trustworthy to friendly, brave, clean and loyal to Iraq and not to its sects, he said. "Second, we neeed to keep these kids away from troubles and teach them some good things for their future during their summer holiday through Scout camps," Motashar said. "So our objective is that to build a free and secure nation, we need to put the future generation onto the right track." Iraq once was a leader in Middle Eastern Scouting, U.S. officials said. An orginization was created in 1921 by British military personnel stationed here, and Iraqi Scouts became members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1922. Under former President Saddam Hussein, the program faltered and eventually disappeared. It was resurrected in 2004 under the old Coalition Provisional Authority. The Green Zone Council of Iraqi Scouts is branching out to all of Iraq's 18 provinces and working to regain admission into the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) I understand if you live in a small market and want to hear some sports talk he might be your only option. I get that. I just don't see why anyone would choose to listen to him with much better shows out there. There's just nothing appealing about him or the s*** that comes out of his mouth. That's my take anyway. A lot of people enjoy his show. But I can see why some people don't like him.
  13. Being that most of the time the only way I can follow the team is via press accounts the press is more important to me than to y'all.
  14. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 06:28 PM) I'm sorry.. but so what? I'm just not a Bonds fan and think he is a disgrace to baseball.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) No, I mean that he knows nothing. And he admits as much. I'm not talking about basic ideas and stories taken from blogs I mean reading entire entries from them and not giving any credit. He's pretty well known for this. Since I don't read many blogs, it's new to me. Also, keep in mind I'm in a small market without any choices.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) "f**" has been a slain term for "wuss" for quite a while now, at least it is where I grew up. I'm surprised you've never heard it. And what is your definition of wuss? Isn't wuss a slang term?
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) And what exactly do you like about his show? The fact that he knows absolutely nothing about sports and the small amount of sports knowledge he displays is taken directly from Blogs? First off, there are absolutely nothing on radio or tv today that can't also be found in blogs and on message boards, so the fact that with hundreds of thousands of people all communicating, that most are saying things that can be found elsewhere, isn't that big of a deal. I am certain that I just thought that up, but someone could find a blog somewhere that also said it, did I plagiarize? I like his guests, I like the pace of his show, I like that he will take the unpopular positions at times. And if you really think he knows absolutely nothing about sports, you probably mean his doesn't agree with you.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) Aside from Dan Patrick, he's my favorite sports show on the radio. I guess that makes it just the two of us. I like his show.

    Happy Easter!

I just received this through one of my Scouting lists. My prayers to everyone whose life is less than a peaceful ideal. The nurse's name and position was deleted before I received it.
  20. QUOTE(shipps @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 07:26 PM) After spending 5 hours of my Saturday night at Buzz,I just want to reiterate how much I hate going to clubs.Spending the hole night talking to people 2 inchs away from your face with their breath smelling like crap and JackDaniels. And those who you would call good dancers are really just drunken body movers who wax their eyebrows twice a week and wear pointy shoes from Aldo.I dont get why would anybody enjoy being around a bunch of people like that every weekend. That pretty much sums it up. I enjoyed them a lot more when I switched to be the designated driver and would just make certain all my buddies embarrassing moments would not be forgotten and would be safe. I also met some nicer ladies that way.
  21. Most teams seem to have a few guys wearing the uniform.
  22. Please tell me that Bonds will be wearing 24. Crap, he will be wearing it. I'd rather have any honest player wear the number before him. The Cubs have 4 players wearing the number. I wonder if Thomas will be wearing it for the Blue Jays.
  23. Go Frank!! I am so glad he gave the Sox a couple "home town discounts" to stay in a Sox jersey.
