QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) I'm not. If there is a possibility my life or the life of my family could be ruined, there isn't a chance. You have mentioned that a couple times, could you elaborate? I think I know what you are driving at, and frankly if this law doesn't offer you some comfort, I'm even more confused about the law. You clearly are a get involved kind of guy, or else you would not have placed your name on a ballot. Are you more concerned about retaliation through the courts, or retaliation through intimidation or worse?

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) What are you trying to do - see how many kids you can scar for life in one sitting?!?!! Yes we are. My program directorm who happens to be a sweet third grade teacher with grown children has an evil streak I really enjoy. She's waiting until Thursday to show the movie so at least most of their week is over, they leave on Saturday. I have a pretty good Fender PA system coming and may add a sub woofer just for the dum dum dum of the movie. I think the realism of being out there on the water and all the sounds will add something, And finally, the coolest part are all the dolphins that are seen swimming in our waters, Or are those great whites

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) And now you tell me how "tired out" makes ANY sense in the context of the statement. It doesn't. He's lying through his teeth and for some unknown reason people are going right along with it even though it doesn't fit. Like I said, I could really care less if he's using the word 'f**' to mean 'wuss' but to lie about it in this way just makes him look like a complete fool. And "you always homosexual out on me" makes sense to you?? Must be a generational thing but his version makes a hell of a lot more sense to me than yours. Why would you use a sexual term in that place? -
Help settle a bet. Was Jaws (the original) a horror movie or something else, perhaps a scary action/suspense? We are planning on showing it this summer at my Camp. Midnight movie, out under the pavillion, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico. Sounds like fun to me,.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) Cheater! You changed your guess--it was substantially lower earlier today! I think you are thinking the sub title in his self congratulatory 20,000 post thread,.This wasn't edited at all.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) No,Tex just chooses to ignore what refutes his argument. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=1380223 I listed the section of the bill that specifically refers to what Tex claims, and it makes provisions to take care of people who knowingly submit false reports. Oh, and if they are wearing that black, oversized hooded sweatsuit when it is 90 degrees out, I am gonna report it. The problem becomes proving it was a false claim. Think OJ. His only punishment was in civil not criminal court. I am not ignoring it, but it is a very weak provision. Anyway you slice it, this takes away the innocent person's day in court. That is who is being punished by this law, that is who's rights are being tossed aside. Second part, report it. But remember, down here we see people getting off planes with big heavy jackets and it's 80 degrees here. It's an airport, you have to know where they are going to where they came from.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) Ok, now I'm convinced you haven't even read what this law does. The law stops people who report suspicious activities from being sued. These lawsuits would be brought by INNOCENT people who are the subject of those reports. So this law stops innocent Americans from their day in court. Instead of a Judge or jury determining if that specific situation has merit, these lawmakers have decided in advance that there are no grounds ever for someone being sued. Clearing the way for people to report anyone for any reason. Someone wearing a black, oversizes, hooded sweat suit, damn, that's suspicious, better report it. I believe that innocent Americans always deserve their day in court. This law takes the rights of innocent Americans to seek compensation in a court of law. So we take away their rights and give it to people who may or may not have committed slander.

If the kid is the courtesy runner and then enters the game, what are the team's options?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 12:58 AM) I think I'm going to die. I play in a weekly soccer league (pretty competitive league but in the end its still for fun) but with our busy season just ending we were down a few players (no subs plus 2 short) and I now feel like I want to vomit. To make matters worse all our players that were there stepped up and played our best games only to lose near the end. Grow up, get fat, and stop that s***.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 06:17 PM) Here's another black helicopter thought for you on this subject. Syria is credited with the back channel diplomacy that got the 15 UK sailors and marines sent back home this week. Notice how that was timed with Pelosi's visit? Kind of like the hostages getting released as Reagan was sworn into office?

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) There are two ways to look at this. 1) Nice walking around feeding people 2) Guy sets up shop in high rent / highly visable area that attracts destitute people where business suffers because of type of crowd. Sorry but homeless people do not attract the crowd which spends money. This is all about business. If the guy wants to feed the homeless, follow the laws set in place. So true, and I am certain you wouldn't mind if they set up in an area where business wouldn't suffer, like in front of your house. If you are going to help someone, especially the homeless, it is so wrong to go to them. They need to get off their lazy asses and get in their cars and SUVs and drive to the help. D'Oh.

I am worried about that kid. His dad is making America safe, killing terrorists. I hope the kid is crying because p**** liberals made his dad come home, instead of staying there and killing more terrorists. If not, he's a terrorist sympathizer and we need a new law against him. I had tears each time I watched it. Nice they called the biased media before telling the kid,

Of course the best response to above is to write a new law. Each time something happens, we will write a new law. Laws for everyone

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 07:37 AM) in my experiences with my dad as a softball coach for my sister and whatnot typically when there are 2 outs then you can substitute the person who made the last out for the catched to allow him/her to put the gear on to make the half inning changes faster; this has happened for at least 5 years I think They used a kid off the bench and IIRC it was with less than two outs. Seems as if it is anytime. Strange rule to me, but it does have some logic. This seven inning game went 2:45

This is one of those really stupid ideas that no one ever supports, yet somehow get passed. It doesn't reflect the values of any Americans.

That's old school. I haven't heard the word used that way since the early 70s. And then it was by older people. -
I watched my buddy's son pitch last night. Kids good. Sophomore playing Varsity for a really good program. He had been out for a couple weeks so it took a couple innings to settle himself down, but after giving up 2 and 1 runs the first two innings he cruised the rest of the night in a 13-3 complete game win. Now the question, what the hell is a "courtesy runner" for the catcher? Basically whenever the catcher got on base, and he was always on base it seemed, they could bring in a courtesy runner. The reasoning was to speed up the game by having the catcher ready with his gear on. Is this national? When did it start? And, while I really like the DH at the mlb level, I am against it in High School, College, and Minors.

That is the one thing that bothers me is when these laws are used to move these guys to other cities.

MIAMI, Florida (Reuters) -- Police have arrested an activist for feeding the homeless in downtown Orlando, Florida. Eric Montanez, 21, of the charity group Food Not Bombs was charged with violating a controversial law against feeding large groups of destitute people in the city center, police said Thursday. Montanez was filmed by undercover officers Wednesday as he served "30 unidentified persons food from a large pot utilizing a ladle," according to an arrest affidavit. The Orlando area is home to Disney World and Universal Studios Florida. The Orlando law, which is supported by local business owners who say the homeless drive away customers but has been challenged in court by civil rights groups, allows charities to feed more than 25 people at a time within two miles (3.2 kilometers) of Orlando City Hall only if they have a special permit. They can get two permits a year. Police collected a vial of the stew Montanez was serving as evidence. Police spokeswoman Barbara Jones said in an e-mail it was the first time anyone had been arrested under the feeding ban. Montanez was charged with a misdemeanor.
