  1. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Ah, the Catholic Channel is on Sirius. Came with a car I bought. And to help entertain you Look at her tits!! Wow. Blow me!! Does your son jack off?
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 12:09 PM) Who is trying to racially balance a church? I'm saying I could care less if I'm the only white guy there, or they are all white. It really makes no difference. That's the way I think it should be. If happenstance dictates some particular mix, then so be it. I misunderstood. Sorry.
  3. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) if it didnt cost $1 billion to put a satelitte in orbit, he might have just done that. 25% only bought for him, he made the market legit. I'm not certain where you got that number. But with 3,000,000 people all wanting just him, that's only about $333 per person. Plus, he makes the market legit, so the others would fail, leaving him as the only satellite radio option. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) This would better be debated at siriusbackstage.com...check it out. Do you own xm or sirius? If not, why am I arguing you. Both actually.
  4. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) Disprove the numbers the I posted. He brought legitimacy to the industry and brought the light on XM and Sirius. Disprove that the increase in listeners was due to installs in new cars, poor local programming in key markets and the increase in intensity of sun spots which made regular radio tough to listen to. Yes, he drove some buyers. Legitimacy to the industry?
  5. It would seem he wants out of his current contract and into a new one with the Bears.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 11:03 AM) That was great POTM
  7. QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) I've got 20/10 as well, Soxy. But hers in in two eyes, making it twice as good
  8. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) You guys have been missing me haven't you. I have been talking more Sirius than Sox lately, so siriusbackstage has been my board of choice. However, you are wrong. I am happy about this. I am a stockholder, a disgruntled one at that, and want to make some money. hopefully this will do it. As for content, Sirius has everything I need, so XM content doesn't interest me, not even MLB. But I think it should be good for everyone to have some more options. I could see paying a little extra to get some of their channels. Are you sirius? Ha. Come on man. Since Stern joined, they went from 600,000 to 6 million. They would have caught XM. For 6 straight quarters now, Sirius has outgained XM, and has shifted the retail market from 60-40 XM, to 60-40 Sirius. Stern kept Sirius from going under, and if XM had signed him, game over. Sirius would be gone. We can debate all day about kind of numbers Stern brought. We can quote Rex's ridiculous number of 1 million or mine, which is about 3 million. NO OTHER RADIO GUY COULD DO THAT. Not even Rush. People love Rush (morons), but are not going to follow him in droves like us Stern morons. *breathing* I am done. So why doesn't Stern start his own satellite venture? With all those subscribers, just wanting his show, cut the expense of all those other channels and have an all Stern channel. If he is responsible for almost 1/4 of all satellite subscribers, he could single handily shut down the industry.

    QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) It's oddly cool though.. The carnival side show never goes out of style. Beard Clubs!!
  10. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) And even more odd that a Flaxx would allow so many spelling errors in his post. You feeling O.K.??? I assumed it was his new Mack komputre
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 10:28 AM) I really don't know where to ask this question, so I'll do it here. Does anyone know how to use invisible font on AIM? I've tried making the color of the words and the background white, but it just comes out grey. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) Sure I know how to use the invisible font. Thew details are provided below: Did you get all that?
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) Wow. Illness conveniently forces here to stop performing in public, and eventually here entire recoreded catalog is going to be uncovered as being stolen recordings of othefr musicians. Interesting it took a computer to catch the alleged hoax.
  13. It finally happened, I was having a problem reading and it looks like I need correction for distance (been nearsighted and wearing glasses or contacts for 35 years) -and- this is new, for reading. The options are bifocals, correcting one eye for distance and the other for reading (monovision), or correcting via contacts for distance and carrying a pair of "reading glasses". After y'all stop laughing at Tex, does anyone have experience with these options? I am currently trying the monovision contact option and hear that driving at night may be a challenge.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) There is so much more to this story, we will wait and see. It keeps getting worse. But you are correct, canceling a season, a la Duke Lacrosse, is always risky.

    Should I have placed this next to the Official NASCAR thread?
  16. Teenagers and young adults make errors in judgement. Some of those errors result in embarrasment, some ruin their lives. This is in the ruin their and other's lives range. Unlike Baylor, thankfully no one died. Sad for the players not involved, the fans, and school but call it a season, cut everyone lose and start over.

  19. Today is the birthday of Boy Scout founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell (World Chief Scout) and Lady Olave Baden-Powell (World Chief Guide). Let us also remember The Boy Scouts of America is part of a world wide movement with 28 million members in 216 countries and territories. Our ideals are those of Baden-Powell who worked tirelessly to spread the message that nothing is impossible for those who are prepared to play their part in creating a better world.
  20. Something is wrong when a coach makes more than all those Nobel winners combined. The team should bring prestige and entertainment to a campus. But, today, it only needs to bring money. Nobody would like the solution. Take all college athletics off TV. Give up the revenues. Remove the money and you remove the entitlement and cheating that goes on in the name of Amateur Athletics.

    Roomba

    QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) Such a great picture. "Help me!" I have a dream where every Roomba is free . . .
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 09:53 AM) A church for Baptists is just that, by nature, and that is their service base. But most churches allow people of other religions to attend as well, yes? There is also a big difference between blindness and race. Someone who is blind requires certain resources and tools to do certain things. No race needs such things. Backpacking for the blind? Hm. Might be kind of problematic. You'd need to be escorting them nearly everywhere they go. Novel thought, though. The escorting would depend on the terrain and the trail conditions. Once you are attending, you are a member, aren't you? While the needs are similar for Polish and Italian immigrants, aren't there differences and advantages of being with Poles and Italians? If a Church is offering Polish to English lessons, why fault them for not serving Italians? Isn't there a great motivation when someone stands up and says, I came here from Italy, just like you. I spoke only Italian, just like you. I received an education, just like you can. I found a job, just like you can. I was exactly like you, became successful, and you can to. Churches are made up of dozens to hundreds of families and largely reflect the town/city/neighborhood they are in. To try and racially balance every Church is impossible.
  23. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 09:35 AM) Which is fine, but I think that if you do that only for a specific race or people, you are ultimately making things worse for everyone. Worse for everyone not of that race, and worse for that race later due to a continued artificial barrier. I don't see how that is doable. There are limited resources in every group. Why should Baptist be criticized for offering programs strictly for their members? Why shouldn't a Church be allowed to help Polish speakers learn English and not French, German, and Spanish? If you and I ban together to take blind kids backpacking, why should we be expected to open it up to sighted? (Hey, that actually sounds like a great idea.) Again, I agree in the extreme it is a bad thing. But everything is like that.
