Ken Rosenthal Talks Offseason Moves
QUOTE(bad at best @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 01:31 AM) I completely agree. Garcia could blow out his arm this year and Gio could win 20 games but i call that luck, not KW being a prophet. Baseball is too random to only judge a trade based on how it works out in the end. I personally judge a trade on the value that KW got for someone. If you consistantly get value in a trade, your chances of "winning" the trade in the end are better. I edited out one statement so I could agree 100%. But one caveat. Value varies by team. Trying to not bring any single trade into this, but if your team needs a closer and you have someone rated a F and can land a B, that is huge value to you. If the other team has two closers, an A and a B and can trade it for a C where they have an F, perhaps both team win, even though a C was traded for a B? Perhaps I am needlessly complicating this, but a player's value can shoot up dramatically by switching teams.

Southern Rock
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 12:54 AM) I'll take Shania Twain. As an example of Southern Rock?? I always thought of Southern Rock as being well, rock. Loud and obnoxious like the General Lee with the Dukes boys jumpin' out the windows. Blaring out of open truck windows by guys with Confederate battle flag bumper stickers. I don't hear Eagles, Little River Band, etc. To me, Sweet Home Alabama is the quintessential southern rock tune. Gives an old man a tear in his eye and young guys an excuse to re fight the civil war. I've been listening to Urge's Southern Rock station and hearing a lot of Dylan as well. And Charlie Daniels, when he was good.

Glad it worked. When anyone asks about upgrading any programs I always ask why? If the previous version is working fine, and you are happy, why change? There are all sorts of potential problems with hardware, conflicts with other programs, etc. It just isn't always worth the hassle. When it is my machine, I always update. I usually like being the crash test dummy for new releases. Beta? Doesn't scare me, send me the alpha release.

Southern Rock
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 06:56 PM) Incorrect. Limp Bizkit spent several years chewing Faith No More's worn jock. They were no more southern than they were good. PS. George Thorogood = southern rock. Period. The choice was Shania Twain or Limp Bizkit, I'll take Limp Bizkit

There are a couple really good PC Medics around here who can probably help. Basically IIRC a Codec basically decodes the files. So instead of having a MP3 program, a WMV program, etc. you can have one program that can play multiple formats. My guess would be that your codecs are somehow lost, so Media Player no longer knows how to translate a given extension to something it can play. Why it happened now is another guess. Perhaps it is looking for them here and you have them stored over there Google the error.

Political Jokes
Candidate Biden claims Candidate Obama is "clean". Sounds... nice. But can there be too much of a good thing? The Top 8 Signs a Presidential Candidate Is Too Clean 8> Never went to law school. Enough said. 7> Forget shaking hands; he insists you sanitize your knuckle before he'll give you a fist bump. 6> Her record? A blank piece of paper. 5> His dirty laundry is sorted into neatly stacked misdemeanor, felony and treasonous piles. 4> Constantly refers to Adrian Monk as "that disgusting slob". 3> You can see his teeth sparkling. From 100 yards away. With his mouth closed. 2> His Secretary of State squeaks. and the Number 1 Sign a Presidential Candidate Is Too Clean... 1> Can't score you any weed. funniest devorice letter ever written
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) Ooooh, how I wish I had the cojones or lack of self-respect to have sent something like that to my ex. I don't know if Tex or Soxy have been left for another which ended in a divorce, but "Dan" but down every broken and bitter man's dream to paper. I had to laugh. Actually, I was the one that left, perhaps I might be receiving that letter

How young is too young?
QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) She hasn't asked. I don't know if she even know we're going. She knows about wakes and funerals, though. (We live next to a funeral home) I think she can handle it. I guess the reason I ask is I don't want to be looked at funny by taking her. If it was her grandfather or someone closer I don't think people would think twice about it, but someone that's not a blood relative... I always try to think what is the proper behavior and is my child capable of that behavior on an average day. Which is why I thought of the questions or comments she may make that others might not believe are appropriate. As long as she has the maturity to handle the experience, only someone without a clue would complain or look at you funny. If it seems like you are taking her for some less respectful reason, then maybe.

How young is too young?
I'd bring her but watch how she handles it. Hopefully the crowd will be understanding of any questions that someone her age might ask. Some questions may even be shocking or inappropriate. Which later will be a hilarious family story. Has she asked to go? How did this become a decision? I would consider skipping it if she hasn't asked.

Zambrano: Sign me before the season starts or I'm out
QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) If they don't do it they are more stupid than they appear to be. They have the money, and I'd bet their scalping office makes MORE $ on tickets to the games he pitches. Wish he pitched for us... When the owners stop giving in. You sure can't fault the guy for wanting to get paid what the market backs up as his worth right now.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:40 AM) He wasn't a guest -- he was just in the audience. ? He is so whipped. If he used his name to get tickets, he's even more whipped. If it was his idea, there is no hope.

Zambrano: Sign me before the season starts or I'm out
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) there's only a handful of teams that could/will ink this guy. 1. NYY 2. NYM 3. Bos 4. LAD 5. LAA 6. Cubs 7. Poss Tex?? not any specific order. I can't imagine Cubs letting him walk, Hendry/Tribune will have to pay up. I believe Texas has learned their lesson well and wouldn't be on that list. But then again, I believe every large payroll team will be interested, so toss them back in the mix. The question will be, who's willing to gamble the gonads. I believe he is correct that no matter what he is likely to do this season, his value will not be much higher and pushing a deal now is in his best interest. The opposite for a guy like Buerhle who has a huge opportunity to increase his value to teams.

Southern Rock
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:56 AM) I never would have picked CCR for "Southern Rock". Where, may I ask, are The Outlaws??? "Green Grass and High Tides" is a classic. Georgia Satellites, Outlaws (also their Ghost Riders ), Stevie Ray, Thorogood, Molly Hatchet, Elvin Bishop, Blackfoot, OMD, April Wine Lots that I didn't add. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 11:02 AM) Shania Twain has been on a pop rock station. Do you really consider her a rock performer? Do we agree there is a difference between southern and country?

Southern Rock
QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rock_...roll_performers Country Rock IS Southern Rock and vice-versa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagles_%28band%29 Nope. There is a lot of crossover, but there are major differences. Southern Rock is Rock with a southern feel. Country rock is rock with country influences. You won't hear .38 Special on a country station, but you will hear the Eagles. You won't hear Shania Twain on a rock station. Read through the southern rock links, very little cross over to country and western charts. Southern does not equal country. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) John Fogerty was born in California y'know Tex. The Band is from Canada, yet are considered southern rock.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:43 AM) Peaceful Easy Feeling (SSSS 1/2)* Lyin' Eyes (SSSS) Already Gone (SSSS) Take It To The Limit (SSS 1/2) Desparado (SSS) *Southerns If you consider that rock, then I have to agree. But I don't really consider those rock tunes. They are more country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Southern_rock_bands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_rock http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country_Rock There is a lot of cross over there.
