  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 12:12 PM) New electrical work, good plumbing/pipes, efficient windows (keeps energy costs down), non creaky floors. There are a lot of major perks to having a new house as opposed to one built in 1900. The downside is character. There is something special about old homes. Of course the infrastructure should be solid or big problems can erupt. I love creaky floors and stairs. I love old worn wood on hand rails and other surfaces. I dislike the too small closets, tiny kitchens, etc.

  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 10:45 AM) Because the only thing I trust more than the government in their ability to design an effective system is Microsoft...
  4. It is too damn cold here today. I've been waiting for it to warm up before venturing to the store and it hasn't moved past 39 degrees. That's not why I moved here dammit.
  5. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 10:05 AM) maybe Iraq should switch to the gas chamber, shooting range, etc. This hanging thing just ain't working out. also, tex is throwin some burn sauce in this thread. I wish it was someone other than Nuke taking that stand. I respect that he's in a war zone. The thirst for revenge would be high if I learned that something had happened to him, but I believe I would be firm in my leave them in prison to rot view. Their society created rules and laws and violating those laws resulted in torture and death. Our society created rules and laws and violating those laws resulted in torture and death. I just don't see how we are leading by example. Anyone see the irony in this topic title?
  6. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 09:20 AM) I thought KW's assistant, I can't remember his name, handled the dealings with Boras. Dammit, remember to include the Rally Crede
  7. I was the only Sox fan in my family, suffered through channel 44 and snowy pictures. I can't really remember ever not being a Sox fan, but I also have some great memories at Wrigley as a kid. Walking up the ramp, seeing the sunshine and ivy, Getting Ernie Bank's autograph. I could have easily gone to the dark side but, what cemented the relationship was getting my driver's license during the Southside Hit Men era. Flat out fun, winning or losing.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 01:25 AM) That's easy. The Ocean. What does a music legend have to do with this?
  9. Seems like we need a Soxtalk clan . . .

    Best Song Covers

Every Dread Zepplin tune . . . Black Dog is particularly sweet.
  11. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 11:44 PM) I never thought I'd be made fun of for not having a level 60 in the game while I've only played for 2 months. Not even one?? After two months?? Do you like have a life or something? What character are you building?
  12. All this comes at a time when the Sox have one of the highest payrolls in baseball. I can't imagine how even smaller payrolls manage this. It's cut off your nuts time every year.
  13. I'm glad Ken is out of these negotiations. His history with Boras isn't all that hot.
  14. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) If you're talking about the Wii picture, it's not an ad. There is a networking ad that shows a flood of water, at least when I viewed the page.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 06:14 AM) Greatest years of your life, my ass. God I hated HS, and people like that were exactly why. Along with a bunch of other stuff, I lettered in four sports, was Treasurer of the Varsity Club, and President of the Chess Club. I hung with everyone. It wasn't until later I discovered one clique had tossed me out and I didn't even know it. I'm very much a move over and allow someone else to join the group. FInally a device that fits what I think of an iPod
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 08:35 PM) So today I started my final semester of high school and had my first day of Media Arts. I got seated across from an extremely preppy "cool" girl. After looking around and seeing who was in the class she said to her cool friend, "Ugh, there are only three people in this class"....inferring that anyone in the class who was not cool could not be recognized as a human being. There were roughly 25 other kids in the classroom, but they don't count for anything in her eyes. I just chuckled to myself and smiled when I heard her say that because it was so ridiculous that it was funny. What a b****.
  17. Bob Dylan bores me to tears -- Simon Cowell idiot
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) Nice ad placement on the link. OMG
  19. In Nukes case, we have spent thousands of dollars to make him believe killing solves all problems and that you have to be a macho, broad banging, sob to be a soldier. The culture has been there forever. Perhaps it is necessary, but I doubt it.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Anybody know if a video of this exists? Yes. I saw a link but didn't follow it. Now I think it was only a story about it, not the actual execution.
  21. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 06:35 PM) "Thanks, but I'm gonna need more than $20. I've got standards" There you go again, making us all nervous,
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) It was Thumbs Up Woman's idea. And women shouldn't be allowed in either. Ahh, no it wasn't Lynndie England's idea. The technique of humiliation was from higher up, complete with fun games like this to play.
  23. QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) I hear plenty about how crazy people are about this game. Is this going to cause a stampede at the local Best Buy or something? They are doubling the territories and adding some more characters. No stampede, but I expect my local game stop to be busy at midnight tonight.
