I know I was dropped on my head a lot, but Kinky is making the most sense to me of any candidate. He's gotten past the novelty campaign.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) But what happens if the same number of body bags come out of the region with 150,000 troops in the area instead of 120,000? Or more? If we have the same death with less Troops, I could still accept that. It would allow for more Troops to be deployed elsewhere. But if Troops go down and deaths go up, we haven't gained anything in my accounting.
  3. Not quite. Cook County is 5,000,000 and Illinois is over 12,000,000. Chicago is about 3,000,000. So actually Chicago is close to 25% than 66%.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) They're old and set in their ways, what do you expect? Heck they probably still are listening to Zepplin IV on 8 track those 8-tracks were so coooool.
  5. Some that come to mind, and being lazy and just starting with your list, which btw, is pretty damn good. Joe Cocker - Feelin' Alright The Who - Baba O'Reilly The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Aerosmith - Dream On Eagles - Hotel California Chicago - Saturday in the Park Gaye - What's Goin On Springsteen - Born to Run Electric Light Orchestra - Evil Woman Van Halen - You Really Got Me AC/DC - Shook Me All Night Long But my list goes to eleven . . .
  6. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) Hey, it's ok to like ketchup on your hotdogs . . If you're SIX YEARS OLD! You are all freaks of nature and a blight upon decent hotdog loving society. That is all. Children, what will we do with them?

  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 07:43 AM) Well, if Dog somehow gets prosecuted for this, at least he got that scumbag Andrew Luster off the streets while doing it. Damn foreign countries with different laws. US law should trump any foreign law when it comes to Americans.
  9. Nice article. Kass riding the Mariotti coat tail for a few readers. The only thing better to a columnist in Chicago than being Mariotti is quoting Mariotti.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 04:31 AM) I would go somewhere else but it's right there on the way and I have no tolerance for driving around in the morning. If only they made a machine so people could make coffee in their own homes . . .
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 07:30 AM) I think historically dictators like this make the people around themselves so weak that when it comes time for succession, there ends up being an ugly brutal fight. Hopefully it at least means whoever takes over will look somewhat to the outside world for help because there are still an insane number of people dying of starvation there. NK is a mess after repeated (mostly self-imposed) famines, and terrible choices economically (way too much on military, nothing on things like food) the country is on the verge of collapse. Whoever takes over will probably have a revolution on their hands if they don't immediately and brutally make their "strength" known to the country. So Uth Si Der for ruller of Korea
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 06:49 AM) I'm trying to decide if this is more funny or stupid. Definately funny now let's all gather in a circle and pray they get back safely, just like on the show. . .
  13. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 02:58 AM) I agree - this is very hard to find. I tend to think, even though I disagree with about 70% he says, that Michael Medved is the most even-handed show. He takes a lot of calls from people that disagree with him and doesn't get defensive. I really like Ed Shultz, but man does that guy get defensive. There's a non-partisan but political show out here in LA on KFI called The Jon & Ken Show that is pretty even-handed too. They're pretty opinionated but they disagree with both Repubs & Dems. It's the shows that just toe the party line, where it seems the host does absolutely no thinking for themselves that I hate - like Hannity and Limbaugh. The whole political talk radio is party driven with a huge push to line up advertsisers. Take my area here. Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, Ingrahm, all have shows on my local radio station. This area is 90% Dems. How does that programming survive and become financially viable. The state GOP party pushed their party faithful to support the shows via advertising. Rush is like a a couple hour paid political ad.
  14. We're there. If removing some Troops from harms' way makes the other more vulnerable, than I'd rather have them there. Bottom line, I want to see zero body bags coming out of the region. If that means 150,000 troops instead of 120,000, so be it.
  15. How they self report party alegiance and how they vote is usually different. I'll bet the hardcore, straight tickets voting, party faithful hasn't changed much. A statewide Dem candidate will still have to gobble up huge numbers in Chicago, split the suburbs close to even, and hold on for his dear life and pray for a downstate tornado.
  16. the psycho we know is always somehow more comforting then the unknown psycho.
  17. Once again a Mariotti article has Sox fans crying. Not talking about a no hitter goes back decades and decades tradition is what makes baseball such a great sport. For the most part it has remained unchained for over 100 years. How can you not hear the line "there are five hits in the game and the Yankees have them all" and not see that as better than he's got a no hitter going here folks. Some announcers are better than others. Now, I will say Mariotti handled this poorly. A more tongue in cheek, humorous approach would have created a better article IMHO. What is even funnier to me is if Mariotti took 85% of the posts here the past three weeks and published them under his byline, you'd all line up calling him and idiot, doesn't know anything, jackass.

Thank God these guys knew CPR. Such a simple skill, I wish more people would take the time to attend a 1st Aid Class.
  19. I can't believe his show is still on the air. This should boost ratings, as soon as he finishes up his time as El Guapo b****o

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) Is that mine? You don't even use the band name on your iPod??? LOL!!! It actually says Kid Gleason. I let iTunes run after posting the list and a few minutes later I hear that song come on. I started laughing and knew I had to edit my post.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 11:56 AM) I have a PCI slot open. I've ordered the sound card and speakers that you suggested, hopefully all will work out fine. I'll update this thread once I get them and such, thanks for the help guys Good luck.
  22. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 11:18 AM) I think you have to have those values to begin with to even start playing a game like that. Perhaps a propensity towards that, but it will thrive in the wrong environment.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) but his nights are WIDE open Nope, School night tonight. Meet the boys during the day, meet the parents tonight.
  24. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) So...are we going to watch porn and share Vicodin anytime soon? sorry buddy, I'm leaving to spend my day encouraging young boys to join Cub Scouts and some adults to donate to the United Way.
