  1. That's why I always carry a knife to cut the line while I'm spear fishing Ridley's Turtles and giant grouper. When I die, I want it to be in a similar funny way. No way this wake and funeral can pass without a couple of his buddies cracking up at him getting his ass kicked by a grouper. I'd expect nothing less from my friends. In fact, I'd like one of them to have the fish mounted* and on display with a small plaque. Maybe next to a picture of me. *taxidermy sickos.
  2. I am going to guess, that when all the details come out, he isn't special forces or a jujitsu master.
  3. Humans are cruelest animals in the planet.
  4. Steff, you are so right. Why can't people do the right thing? Children love their parents unconditionaly at that age and to have the mother do something like that is just unbelievable.
  5. Crap. That really sucks, and nothing makes up for losing a season. I f***ed up my Junior outdoor track season doing something stupid and it haunts me to this day. I carried a 12-3 record in the half mile into the conference championship. Screwing around on the triple jump (I have zero jumping ability, there was a girl involved) I fell backwards and hit my coccyx on the take off board and bruised it. I could barely walk the next day. I wound up scratched from the two mile relay team I anchored all season, scratched from the mile relay, and finished so far back in the half mile I should have brought a broom and cleaned up. The following year JC Lang of Grant High School beat me by about a half second and I took second. That should not make you feel any better. Philosophy time. When you read that you probably were thinking, big f***ing deal, it was a long time ago. Put your injury in the same time frame. Resist the urge to be a super hero. Heal 100% before playing again. Take care of your knee for a lifetime, not just for this season, or just for soccer. Also, use the injury to get girls. A bruised coccyx adds nothing in that department, but blowing out a knee has got to get you a couple dates and an excuse to not dance.

BMags, with the Smiths, CCR, and Velvet Underground represented, you're almost there. Remember shuffling was invented by old guys, why else would they call it shuffling? If it was young guys it would be hip hopping Jim, ok, I'm in. Who's beach, yours or mine?
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 07:01 AM) Why would they have him as a risk in the first place? From what I have read, seen, heard, the g'ment had him pegged but did not communicate that info out. In reality, airlines see how many people pass their gates daily? Millions? Are they to be held responsible for knowing who possible terroists are? At some point the government has to have better communication with the airlines in nailing these people, no? Correct. And to get around this the government just figures everyone as a risk.
  8. he's 0-9 against the sox and batting .118 for the month, can anybody say walk off
  9. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) It is funny though, Ozzie doesn't realize how f***ing lucky we were that inning, and he think it is his great managing that this game is still tied, not the players bailing out his ass. Ozzie could make the popular move and a player would still have to bail out his ass. Players have top play.
  10. I have lost the ability to imagine a Sox win in a close game. Gone. Disappeared. I don't see anyway to win this game and dozens of ways to lose.
  11. I knew that lead wasn't going to last long.
  12. And we didn't give the lead right back, thank you Mark
  13. Don't think I liked running there. Not with Dye at the plate.
  14. 9 fouls, what a sequence. Get 'em Joe

  17. I wonder who made the call?
  18. What are these guys making. How can anyone make a judgement without comparing contracts. We deal Crede and take that money to buy a third baseman who can play great defense, hit for average with above average power, and as an added bonus, maybe have a propensity for walk off homeruns.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) It was (the real plane), it had to be, because he went from Florida, to about over Dallas, then went back Louisana... 15 minutes later, he did his quick bit from Louisiana, then went back on the plane to what ended up Nebraska, but they turned off the transponder after they left Louisiana and was over West Texas, turned north, and poof, it was gone. Now, none of that is available. Could have been an alien?

I have a Powerpoint Presentation I would like to make available for download. It is 200 mb, so emailing it is a pain in the ass. Does anyone know of a good file sharing site for free? I tried gigasize but for some reason it wouldn't "finish".
  22. How did she become a celebrity? I feel bad for her and the family that they can't grieve in private.
  23. Dear Tex, I remember when I was back home from Vietnam and veterans were speaking out against the Vietnam war policy, someone yelled at the vets: "You should support the troops." One of those veterans said simply: "Lady, we are the troops." With a war in Iraq gone horribly wrong and a Republican attack machine determined to smear those who speak out, there's nothing more important this fall than electing veterans to Congress who can speak out about Iraq with a special moral authority. And man, do we need them. Recently, John "Randy" Kuhl, a Republican incumbent House member from New York, returned from a visit to Iraq. He reported that things were going well. In fact, he says he almost forgot he was in a war zone. I can't tell you whether that hard-to-believe comment reflects his disconnect with reality or his refusal to level with the people he represents. But, I can tell you this: No one who knows what it really means to be in a war zone would talk like that. If you act now to support Eric Massa, the 24-year Navy veteran running against Kuhl, there will be one less Congressman in Washington next year who blindly supports the failed Republican policy in Iraq. Eric served in Desert Storm, Bosnia and Beirut. And he's telling people the truth about Iraq -- that there is no purely military solution to the problems there. He, three other proud veterans I'll tell you about in a moment, and VoteVets.org, a political action committee founded to support candidates like them, need your help right now. SUPPORT OUR "FOUR VETS, FOUR VICTORIES" CAMPAIGN Our "Four Vets, Four Victories" campaign can help change the face of Congress if you act now. Every one of these candidates has served America under fire. And every one of them can win the opportunity to serve again on November 7th if we act now. Chris Carney, a veteran of multiple military operations, is in a toss-up race against Don Sherwood, another rubber-stamp Republican incumbent who has failed to ask tough questions about the Bush administration's aimless policies in Iraq. Joe Sestak, a former three-star Admiral who served in the Navy for 31 years, is another veteran on the road to victory in Pennsylvania. He's running against Curt Weldon, a Republican incumbent in the Rick Santorum camp who believes the "jury is still out" on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, despite overwhelming and undeniable proof to the contrary. The third in our trio of Pennsylvania veterans running to change the face of Congress is Patrick Murphy. He is an Iraq War veteran, former West Point professor, and criminal prosecutor. Patrick is on the verge of victory if we give him the financial support he needs to compete in the countdown to Election Day. SUPPORT OUR "FOUR VETS, FOUR VICTORIES" CAMPAIGN Nothing would make me prouder than to know that our "Four Vets, Four Victories" campaign helped carry these impressive candidates to Congress. That's the outcome that's within reach, but only if you rush your financial support to one or more of these candidates. Every day it becomes more apparent how hard the Republican Party and its candidates will struggle to hold on to power in these elections. They'll throw everything they've got at our candidates. We've got to be there with our financial support. So, pick one candidate or donate to all four. But, whatever you do, don't stay on the sidelines. This is your opportunity to stand side-by-side with veterans who have already given so much to America and who are ready to provide the leadership we need in Washington. SUPPORT OUR "FOUR VETS, FOUR VICTORIES" CAMPAIGN Thank you for all you are doing in the critical buildup to Election Day. Sincerely, John Kerry P.S. There's one other critical way you can help veterans running for office. Support VoteVets.org, a political action committee formed by Iraq veterans to support Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who are running for Congress. VoteVets.org is providing campaigns with training and support and running TV ads critical of candidates who support the failed "stay the course" policy of the Bush administration. So, in addition to supporting our four candidates, I hope you'll consider standing with VoteVets.org.
