QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Well as a part of the Lamazze class, we got to see what the birthing suites look like, and thank God they have a nice 32 inch TV in there, so if baby decides to come early and during one of the World Series games, the wife won't have to figure out how to drive to the hospital while in labor. I'll take her, I've done everything else

True story. Dr. Falls in Lake Forest and I were discussing the Bulls, he also had season tickets, a nurse interrupted to tell us to get back to business. Mike, you will discover you cannot count correctly to ten. one, two, three "dammit Mike faster it huuuuuuuurts" fourfivesox "Slow down Mr. Southsider" she needs to push s e v e n, e i g h t, n i n e "dammit Mike faster" I bought Rose a watch after my first son was born, I figured it would be a memento of my poor counting and a reminder that basically all I really did was watch!

Congratulations to the Soxtalk 2005 Hall of Famers
Wow, I am seriously surprised by this. Thank you. I was humbled to be on the same ballot with, and very humbled to go in along side of, some of my favorite posters and old farts. Crap, are they thinking we're so old we could be dead soon?

Baseball value?
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) That would be Garcia's daughter's name. Damn breeders, I can't keep them straight I mean, if he is so concerned about buying the ball he doesn't even know he has a son and not a daughter, I'd would have to give him a discount . . .

Baseball value?
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) His new son would probably be pissed about that.. Damn, I thought he had a daughter? I thought Garcia, Crede, and Konerko all had daughters?

Astros GM once loved the White Sox
He can't sit with the rest of the family. I love that family! That's a true baseball family. They understand that blood is thicker than water, but pine tar and chew is thicker than blood.

Baseball value?
Now I am a softy and if Konerko said he wanted to give it to his new baby daughter, I may be inclined to to not sell it to the high bidder. But if he's wearing an Angels uniform in 2006, the highest bidder not named Konerko is the winner

Baseball value?
QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) there's no way I would ever sell it. The only people to ever get thier hands on those balls would be the guys who hit them. People charging althetes to get thier balls back sucks, even more so when it's the sox. I am really happy the two guys who caught the Konerko/Pods balls were real fans who glady gave them back to those guys. All I would ask for is to maybe get another ball signed by a few guys. They charge me to watch them play? I'd sell the balls in a heartbeat. And the better the player, the more I'd ask for. Hey Konerko, let's wait until after you sign the next contact and figure out how much this baby is worth. I may give you a hometown discount.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) I was just going to post this. Excellent article. Everyone of those assholes is taking a seat that could be occupied by someone who has followed this team with every ounce of their being, vs someone who just wants their 5 second on Fox, so the world doesn't forget that they exsist. But wouldn't it be sad without a sell out? 21,000 for a World Series game?

QUOTE(joeynach @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Yeah they certinatly did, I got banned a bunch of times over there for actually having an opinion that wasn't overly positive and happy. WSI has dug a whole with themselves by banning what people can and can't talk about. Its a freking internet message board, open to the public, and every citizen has freedom of speech and they want to tell their fans they can't talk about Mariotte, Attendance, negative threads, attendance, etc. Since when can one person or group tell the other what they can and cannot say, sounds a lot like communism to me. I agree with almost everything you say. The free speech comment is misguided. George pays the bills over there. Free speech does not mean you can go anywhere on any person's bill and say whatever you want. Walk into McDonalds and start talking about how much better Burger King is to all their patrons and see how long your free speech rights last. I think they have gone overboard, but that has been good for Soxtalk. With three great Sox message boards there is one for everyone. Based on members, posts, and everything else, Soxtalk seems to be #1 for most fans.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) They were great shows up until Meier went wacky and left in the early 90's. The Loop was once the best form on entertainment. I miss Johnny B. so damn much it isn't funny. If he were to come back, with Buzz...man, I would be THRILLED! One of the coolest cncerts I ever attended was Snugfest on Lake Beverley. Johhny B and Otis Day. $25 all you can eat and drink.

Konerko and Thomas
With every Konerko heroic moment, I'm sensing Thomas falling further and further in the rear view mirror. It's going to take a superstar size contract to keep Kong and saving a few million here and there will be necessary. I'm just not seeing Thomas and Kong both back next year. I will be very sad if I'm right.
-
Baseball value?
My 14-year old daughter saw the mob on Kong's ball and said, there was no way she wanted to be around that ball. I was wondering what the price tag would be. I'm guessing in the $5,000 to $10,000 range. today. More after the Sox win it all.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Did anyone see Blago on one of the pre game shows from the Cell? I can't remember which station it was on, but they were trying to get him to put on a Sox cap. He said something like: "No, I'm a Cub fan and to do something like that would be one of those crummy things that politicians do all the time". C'mon dude, you're already AT the game. You have to respect him a little but for that stand. At least he wasn't wearing an Astros cap

Greenspan successor to be named shortly
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) They've never talked about it... Bush continued "But he's a smart dresser and he can count to 20 without taking off his shoes!" I wonder what Church he attends? Oh and maybe, if he has any actual experience.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) He's just not as funny sober. Sad but true. A ton of long pauses and awkward interplay make up that radio show. At least it did from 99-01 when I was last tuned in I missed the magic with Meier. Those were some great shows in the late 70s.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) You are lucky I am a Soxtalk Admin and we aren't allowed to ban anyone without a tribal council meeting, or your torches would sooooo be extinguished by now BTW, did you hear about the big games at the Cell this past weekend?
