Let him go and use the money saved to fill holes like we did with Maggs. First hole is to find a cheap all-star first baseman, maybe someone who is in the top 3 in home runs and RBIs. Both corners will be gone soon. They are greedy bastards who care more about money than winning.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) Yes, local control of public education through elected school boards as provided by the various states due to the powers reserved to the states by the federal Constitution. However, I'm a she, not a he. Republicans can't tell the difference. Remember they are all about inclusion and tolerance and it isn't important if you are a man or a woman as long as you are a breeder. Oops. BTW, 250 posts and what, about half, are explaining you are a woman? You should have a sexy Chomsky avatar to give a visual clue. And as far as what is making us #1, I will agree with Juggy that a coming financial crisis will seriously impact our ability to maintain that ranking. it will be the spend and don't tax approach of the GOP which prefers to borrow from every potential rival than tell Americans that can't have everything without paying for it. But of course that is negative to the Grand Old Party and should be ignored. Juggy would have been arguing that mixed race couples were destroying our society and pulled up Bible versus to prove it. So this is no exception. And thanks for the vitae, of course that and the extensive network of friends worldwide makes you the final authority, How could we ever encourage you to run for President of the world.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Because you know, no Republican in the history of mankind has ever broken the law or done an illegal drug. It's theoretically impossible. or learned to use a spell checker.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) I agree with him 100% & I believe the majority of Americans do as well. What's more I think in MA in 2008 we will find the majority in that state agree too. What shocks me in America & it is clearly orchestrated by sinful liberals is that this stuff ever enters into school. I have friends & colleagues around the world & this stuff never gets the gold standard treatment in their schools like it does here. They marvel at the culture war in America & they do agree with me that it's mostly the fault of liberals trying to impose their ideology on the rest of us. Is it any wonder that America's public schools continue to fall behind when the rest are devoting their time & energy to teach reading, writing, math & physical science while we feud over garbage issues like this that serve as nothing more than a waste of time that could be put to better use? I've got a novel idea. Why don't we first teach the kids to excel in reading comprehension, writing composition, math, & physical science before moral relativism? Oh wait. I forgot this is a public school. That's too much of a burden on the teachers. Of course they agree with you, you'll never agree with an opposing view. Most people give up first. But I enjoy winning points and your only response is to ignore them and move on to something else. America is the richest, most diverse, society on the planet with unique issues. To compare the US to any other country shows a level of naive that even you couldn't possess. But as always, it is impossible to wake someone up who is pretending to sleep. This person would complain if the book used to teach reading (which we agree is important) has a picture of a same sex couple. How does his child being pulled from class help with his child learning to read? The same battle was fought 20 years ago with different racial couples in textbooks. Same battle, different couple. A homosexual professor of mathematics volunteers to teach 1st grade math, this parent would have his child pulled from the classroom. What does this parent value more than reading, writing, and mathematics? His child not seeing any homosexuals. How does that share your opinion of what is important in the classroom? And your insults to teachers is just plain laughable. But I can understand that you probably had some s***ty teachers.

Rally Crede was the Big Bang

A same sex couple is allowed to adopt in America. What was in the book is legal. That is the only standard the public schools can adopt. Morality is an individual belief. At the minimum, the community decides policy, a school board was elected, and this is the results. The family can opt out of this system. There are alternatives. If they care enough to conduct an overnight sit in at the jail, they should care enough to find a faith based education system that follows their beliefs. The public school cannot conduct business if they begin allowing customized eduction for children. It would lead to this "OK class, on to the next lesson. Billy, Juan, Suzy, and Lashuan you have to leave, tell Randy and Chris to come back, and let Mohamed know he has a choice depending on how he's feeling." So the GOP will argue that public schools need to customize the education program to a parent's belief system. Will they actually pay for that?

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Some of you don't get it. But considering that the SOX fans split 50/30 between Democrats & Republicans I'm not surprised. Because of the harsh treatment this parent received the story got National news. If they had been more reasonable they would never have happened. Now the GOP throughout the nation has more ammo to fire at the Democrats on the issue of gay marriage & how it threatens our school system. This is a dream come true for the GOP. Not only does this issue affect gay-marriage but even better the sinful liberal influence on our school systems. Nothing sells a hypothetical better than reality. Especially when it's occuring amongst 5-6 yr olds. So the parents were unreasonable so it would happen? Where the parents seeking national attention or did they really believe in what they are saying?

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) I could produce links where the cable company has estimated the number of homes that have made use of parental controls but why bother? I'll agree with you that maybe no one in a Dem household cares but there are plenty who care amongst GOP households. See you are over generalizing. I use the parental controls all the time.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) So you prefer the NL? No, I'm a big fan of the DH and wish the NL would catch up. In fact, I'd be in favor of a platoon system like football. Put out your best 9 defenders and your best 9 offenders.

This is also why the NL complete game records are even more impressive, the pitchers needed to be pitching well enough to not get pulled for a "real" bat.
