QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) Anybody else around here getting tired of all the stoooooooooooopid f***ing polls lately???? I couldn't resist :rolly

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Again...there is my love for you. Yeah, I was watching this and wondering how the poor new fella was feeling. I've been on that end of being a "newbie" and it sucks. Just answer the question and don't make the person feel like an idiot. If it was a LONG term poster, make 'em feel dumb, fine. But a new guy asking a question, just answer it or move on. Too tough to do? Of course Cub fans would be sitting around wondering if their pitchers are practicing not batting

I can't see how it would help, adding a bat to an already weak Houston attack, can only help. I see the AL always getting screwed in this. At best the AL team's lineup stays the same or gets worse from the regular season. The NL lineup either stays the same or gets better. At least Ozzie has some experience in the NL and maybe can figure out when to pull a starter and when not to. BTW, are the Sox pitchers taking batting practice yet?

Of all the things that Sox fans do, welcoming new people and patiently answering their questions, is my favorite.

If you listen or read JR's quotes, you can be assured the Cell would have a similar Go Cubs sign. :puke The Sox organization has talked about Cub fans cheering for the Sox, it's a city thing, etc. The beauty is whether the Sox reciprocate or not, we'll never know in our lifetimes :fthecubs

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) I saw this on ABC news the other night. It's just another sign that liberals have no credibility. I think the guy has plenty of GOP credibility when he wouldn't leave the school because he didn't get his way. If that's the kind of credibility the GOP is searching for, they are doomed. I wonder if he held his breath until he turned blue? At least Dems are smart enough to have a camera crew notified and to have bail money available Geez do it right next time.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) Thats not what I meant and you know it. Sorry, I forgot how tolerant the GOP is. Tolerant of money laundering, conspiracy, and constitutional amendments to limit Homosexual Marriage. I was listening to Rush, Hannity, Savage, and how tolerant they are and getting all misty eyed. Yes dems have little or no tolerance for haters, they are free to join the GOP. Neither party has a monopoly on welcoming all views or not welcoming. To somehow imply that trait is more prevalent in one party or the other, just isn't fair.

I'm guessing Dollar Bill Worst was trying to open for games one and two as well.
-
I think the idea is great, and of course it gives the TV stations a place to go. "let's see the reaction in Chicago". I worry that $15 to watch it may scare away too many people. If it wasn't available on free TV, $15 is a bargain. Add concession prices and it becomes an expensive way to watch the game.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) And the Rally Crede always calls the morning after. I tried calling but you gave me the wrong number . . .

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ that's Daley, damn Indiana boy can't spell.

QUOTE(Jake @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) He's done that, and raised prices in general too, but yesterday it hit 4 bucks a pop here and theres just not much he can do about it. Demand doesn't go down. In my case I need it to heat water to make cleaning faster and easier. It is almost a situation now where my labor savings don't equal my fuel costs. Before it was an easy conparison.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) No its not nice to call people out that are not able to think on themselves..Now take Tex..he just mad about comments I made last off season that proved him wrong.. ??? I have no idea what you are talking about. I am flattered you remember a thread from the off season that I responded to. But to be honest, I didn't even recognize your screen name. I do know that after 35 years as a Sox fan, I enjoyed this season tremendously, and that is a successful season in my book. This is entertainment, not life and death, I've seen enough of that. I have watched too many people achieve goals and reach new heights, without winning the whole thing, to know what success and failure is. Each and everyone of them were successes, not failures, in my book. To think that only the final person standing is a success and everyone else is a failure, is wrong in my book. Every kid that learns to ride a bike is a success, whether he wins the Tour de France or not. Every shy kid who takes 6 months to ask a special girl out is a success, whether she says yes or not, and it especially doesn't matter if they marry or not. So I reject your truth that this team needs to win the WS or else the season is a failure.

The Rally Crede decided to not waste his time and talents on some posters here . . .

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) It's against the new rules to call somebody an "idiot"...right? Just want to make sure before I do so. Go ahead and call me an idiot, I don't mind

Babe Ruth was really pointing to the Rally Crede when he hit that homerun.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) Yes, Sorry to burst your bubble but nothing less than a world Title is Failure. If we win a couple World Series Titles you will understand what I mean..

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) First off I know I am not liked around here becuase well I speak the truth.. With that said here is more of it.. Unless we win the series, the season is a failure.. Yeah Whoopie we made it, who cares.. Win the damn thing..yeah we have not been here in 45+ years. But, we are here win it and plan on next year to win it again. For those who think that it is okay to just be there.. You have accepted failure. Never Settle for anything less than a Championship.. With that Said.. Let win this thing... This is the kind of consistency that Sox fans want out of Mariotti. Yes Anthrax you do speak the truth as you believe it. Let me offer a little more truth, After they win this, you'll complain they didn't repeat, then three peat. Actually the more I think about it, I will bow to your expertise in the area of failure. You seem to have a better grasp and know more about the subject. BTW, do you consider your post a failure becuase (sic) words were misspelled and no one agrees with you?

I was looking at the practice picks on chisox.com and seeing the winter hats and heavy sweatshirts made me laugh. I'm in shorts and hoping for some cooler weather. I'm going to believe it when I see the opening pitch, the field decorated, etc. Until then, I can't even grasp winning or losing the series. Unchartered territory here. It does feel more like the first Bulls run when there was doubt which team was better, or the Hawks of that same era. The Penguins looked tough and proved it. It is not like the Bears when it wasn't a matter of if, but of how much, they would win by. QP, have you had the seamstress sew a WS patch on the wedding gown? Thinking of dumping ther tiara in favor of a WS Championship cap SHow us you're a real fan.

Since moving down here, I have stopped following much football. The Cowboys had some teams that were brutal to cheer for. Half were on parole, the other couldn't leave the state. I have really enjoyed the Spurs because of David Robinson and Dunkin. Quality guys. I like how they go to work. Of course if the Bulls get hot, I have plenty of Bulls stuff so I can jump on that bandwagon in a heartbeat. I'm following my local hockey team, the Killer Bees, although I can't help but peak at the Hawk's results.
-
My Chicago sports interest and viewing schedule has always been, when the Bulls season ended, I'd flip over and see how the Sox were doing. When it became obvious that the Sox chances were over, I'd start watching the Bears. When the Bears season ended, I would contentrate on the Bulls. It's frickin' October 21 and I have no idea what the Bears have been doing! That is sooo coool.

QUOTE(thatballhitdeep @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) oklaSUCKHA is a new one......i usually hear oklaHOMO or JOKlahoma.... I love everybody on this board.....why??? Because we are all SOX fans!!! I think this would be an excellent time to discuss this year's college football season. 45-12 This will be where Oklahoma gets all nostalgic and bringing up the distant past.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) I highly doubt we'll see any of the 3 writing a book about the three of them or any s*** like that, where as Damon wrote a damn book about the '04 Bo Sox. AJ, it's your agent. A guy from Random House called, he's offering $1.3 mil for a book. They have a ghost writer all lined up. You need to spend a weekend with the guy, give him some stories, then probably a few more days over the next 6-months, what do you think? Does AJ reply . . . I'm no Johnny Damon, tell them to stuff the money or Hell yes for $1.3 million.

I'm not necessarily asking for predictions. But as of today, results of the series haven't really entered my mind. With so many games to be played it just doesn't feel like winning or losing is within sight.
