  1. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) What's the third? southsiders
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) what is this story im hearing about Biggio's wife getting assaulted outside the game last night? Damn Astro fan upset his team lost . . . Of course no one is thinking that!
  3. QUOTE(joeynach @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Yeah they certinatly did, I got banned a bunch of times over there for actually having an opinion that wasn't overly positive and happy. WSI has dug a whole with themselves by banning what people can and can't talk about. Its a freking internet message board, open to the public, and every citizen has freedom of speech and they want to tell their fans they can't talk about Mariotte, Attendance, negative threads, attendance, etc. Since when can one person or group tell the other what they can and cannot say, sounds a lot like communism to me. I agree with almost everything you say. The free speech comment is misguided. George pays the bills over there. Free speech does not mean you can go anywhere on any person's bill and say whatever you want. Walk into McDonalds and start talking about how much better Burger King is to all their patrons and see how long your free speech rights last. I think they have gone overboard, but that has been good for Soxtalk. With three great Sox message boards there is one for everyone. Based on members, posts, and everything else, Soxtalk seems to be #1 for most fans.
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) They were great shows up until Meier went wacky and left in the early 90's. The Loop was once the best form on entertainment. I miss Johnny B. so damn much it isn't funny. If he were to come back, with Buzz...man, I would be THRILLED! One of the coolest cncerts I ever attended was Snugfest on Lake Beverley. Johhny B and Otis Day. $25 all you can eat and drink.
  5. With every Konerko heroic moment, I'm sensing Thomas falling further and further in the rear view mirror. It's going to take a superstar size contract to keep Kong and saving a few million here and there will be necessary. I'm just not seeing Thomas and Kong both back next year. I will be very sad if I'm right.
  6. My 14-year old daughter saw the mob on Kong's ball and said, there was no way she wanted to be around that ball. I was wondering what the price tag would be. I'm guessing in the $5,000 to $10,000 range. today. More after the Sox win it all.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Did anyone see Blago on one of the pre game shows from the Cell? I can't remember which station it was on, but they were trying to get him to put on a Sox cap. He said something like: "No, I'm a Cub fan and to do something like that would be one of those crummy things that politicians do all the time". C'mon dude, you're already AT the game. You have to respect him a little but for that stand. At least he wasn't wearing an Astros cap
  8. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/topstory/3411032 ^Good game summary^ Click on Fan Report Card, they hated weather, announcers
  9. I have to believe this happens at every stadium during every WS.
  10. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) They've never talked about it... Bush continued "But he's a smart dresser and he can count to 20 without taking off his shoes!" I wonder what Church he attends? Oh and maybe, if he has any actual experience.
  11. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) He's just not as funny sober. Sad but true. A ton of long pauses and awkward interplay make up that radio show. At least it did from 99-01 when I was last tuned in I missed the magic with Meier. Those were some great shows in the late 70s.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) You are lucky I am a Soxtalk Admin and we aren't allowed to ban anyone without a tribal council meeting, or your torches would sooooo be extinguished by now BTW, did you hear about the big games at the Cell this past weekend?
  13. I like the fact he had a reason for the play. He was definte in his explainatin, not stammering like he knew he was wrong and trying to build a case. It was also a fun sequence of Rowand, AJ, and Crede.
  14. You pitch enough games and you will have enough results that any story could be written.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) When was the last time there was a BIG game at Wrigley Field? The future World Series champs played a few games there this summer, dumb ass. It's called inter league play.
  16. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Unless you're at Wrigley Field. I've never heard it done on any broadcast for the Cubs. Excuse me for asking, but why the hell are you even listening? BUSTED! CUB FAN JUMPING ON BANDWAGON! I kid because I care™
  17. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) I heard Bush is going to name the guy who does his taxes at the corner H&R Block in Crawford, TX. to the post. "He's a good man and I know what he thinks when it comes to money stuff" Anyone know if this guy is anti-abortion?
  18. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) I may be alone in this, but I actually like Reynolds. Of all the idiots on ESPN I think he's the best and usually knows what he's talking about. Kruk is a joke. As for McCarver and Buck....morons. I think the are entertaining. When Kruk and Reynolds crack themselves up and Gammons sits there like a school headmaster with stick up his ass, I laugh. I thought it was the kiss of death when they had the Sox winning everything. As for McCarver and Buck, trying to call a game and be unbiased has to be the hardest thing in the world. If they do their job perfectly, Astros and Sox fans should both hate them and call them biased and the rest of the country will say, nice game, great broadcast.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) No word as to who is will be though.... As the resident economist, I am all kinds of excited [adjusts bowtie] Actually I prefer my economic news and opinion from Juggernot.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Im fairly sure that Jeff Brantley and Barry Melrose are the same mullet-ed robot that ESPN uses for different shows. They just change his program from hillbilly(baseball) to canuck(hockey), and then take the wig off and he transforms into Sean Salisbury. LMAO
  21. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Did we not ban Mariotti articles from Soxtalk? No WSI banned Mariotti articles, attendance threads, negative posts, and anything else George doesn't like. Silly soxtalk, we think we can discuss these things without having to ban anyone. Crazy ass kids over here.
  22. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:24 AM) and we could also have michael moore and george soros sing the 7th inning stretch too! its not like you are a flaming liberal or anything...just a guess. I think forced patriotism is a bad idea. It is a staple of communist regimes. But then running up huge debts, discrediting the media, taking away a free judiciary, are all communist game plans that conservatives are in love with. And I guess you are a conservative.
  23. QUOTE(SoxRock192 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Hope we win Tuesday Well I hope we win Tuesday and Wednesday, then I hope they make us come back and "prove it", and we kick their ass on Thursday. But hey, that's just me. Y'all can disagree if you like.
