  1. Tony keeps saying he's going to play him a lot.
  2. I think you're being very accurate with your assessment.

    2022 Catch All

    Lol. Slow day at work?
  4. Continue to use all the GOP donating Texas company oil until there is a crisis, then send billions of dollars to GOP donating corporations to come up with a solution. Just a hunch from listening to my other senator.
  5. Tons of teams who think their pitching coach is better than Katz at specifically "fixing" Giolito? I don't share your enthusiasm. Financially for Giolito, having his best coach ever currently working with him, and him not performing, may damage his chances more than enhance them. You're right in that someone will take a chance on him, but I don't think it will be tons of teams. But it only takes one team to make an offer that he won't refuse. I agree with @Balta1701 that Harrison is the nasty tasting medicine you would need to sweeten to have a team take him. He's not the lagniappe in a deal.
  6. You are working hard on this.
  7. Retired from the dugout. He's a true baseball lifer. I was surprised once by a professional athlete stating in an interview that he didn't love his sport. Wasn't really interested in the history. It was just a job to him. Tony seems to really love the game. Loves the people in the game.
  8. Yeah, Tony could keep throwing him in there. If he's struggling while adjusting, just keep penciling him in until he cracks or survives. Jumping from AA to MLB shouldn't be a problem at all. Or, maybe find spots for him so he can have some early success and build his confidence. Long term player developmental goals should trump short term team needs when developing young talent.

Or they set themselves up for their next career. Line up lucrative consulting contacts, become lobbyists. Pay back their donors. The donors will be the key to power. Candidates will not have any independent power. Without prepackaged fundraising and organization, outsiders won't win the primary. The only congressman and senators today that aren't dependent on their parties are the ones that have built their own base, which takes time. Once term limits are in place everyone is new, so parties and staffers will be the real sources of power, the candidates will be interchangable faces.

Term limits? No for above and more reasons. Early voting eliminates adding holidays. Most businesses would ignore the holiday so only government workers would have the day off. Monday was a holiday. How many businesses did you see closed? Agreed. Agreed. The challenge is primaries are basically for that party's members to select a candidate. They could just have a meeting or caucus to decide. Allowing members of one party to select the candidate for the other party is kind of weird.

Candidates need three things to remain in office. Money from donors, organization from a party, and votes from citizens. What happens when one third to half of elected officials are term limited and don't need votes or organization anymore? Be careful what you wish for.
  12. So you've never paid a different price for US gas. It's like many things produced overseas cheaper. If we could just make TVs here we could bring the price down. If we could just make clothes here, we could lower the cost. We produce and import food cheaper than most domestic production. American oil doesn't lower the price at the pump. When gas prices are high enough American oil becomes cost effective to use.

I do. I admire his commitment to the character. When I'm performing improv I sometimes think of G7. Once we were doing a small show and I totally exaggerated his post about his head being too big for masks while sitting alone on a picnic bench eating lunch. It killed.

I'm certain Greg775's rants are sincere but do not necessarily match those of the actual person who writes the posts under that pseudonym. G7, as I liked to call him, has evolved over the years into a mostly predictable puppet whose world views are troll-ish. Greg775 is a work of fiction by someone I suspect is intelligent and clearly a good writer. A lawyer perhaps, or college professor. Potential blurring of the two people makes other conclusions difficulty. Was G7 in Chicago for three days working or his puppet master? Potential clues like that could be important. Was there a big convention in town? It's a game, and a fun one. Personally I've wanted the character G7 to finally buy a gun or start dating. It would add a new complexity.
  15. In a perfect world, yes. With all the injuries, he could wind up anywhere. They are calling him up because Mendick and others are injured.
  16. He's been resting players to the point of infuriating fans. I'm not certain I can pin much of this on Tony but I'm willing to learn.
  17. Because they are. I blame the owners for the short spring season. It was their lockout. And their desire for a 162 game season. I also blame million dollar athletes for not hiring trainers and getting their hamstrings ready to play even though they were locked out. But mostly I blame the owners.
  18. Ironic since they brought in Gio's handpicked pitching coach.

My take? ? Texans taking about it? No. Not your best work.
  20. I'm thinking ouchies is like a "boo boo". Probably said sarcastically and hints at a discipline pull.
  21. Do you think Giolito improves once he's away from Tony and his staff? Based on the last few starts Fair may be overpaying.
  22. "Ouchies"?! I'm going to give Tony a thumbs up. Ouchies, I believe, says a lot.
  23. In your lifetime have you ever paid a different price for American gas? Why would an American business charge less than the market price? Oil is a finite resource. The only time it makes economic sense to pump US oil is when prices are high.
