  1. Riding the hot bat ?
  2. I've been back home about a week after six weeks on the road. Still haven't turned on the TV. I'm not certain I want a 2022 Sox game to be the first thing I watch. Perhaps a nice Stephen King movie. I have a dentist appointment today at 4:00. I'm looking forward to that more than the next Tony screw up or hamstring pull.
  3. I wish I had Colorado in a 13 run pool. This can't end well.
  4. 7-12 and the last of the optimistic fans will give up.
  5. The release I quoted last week from the NFL didn't even mention he played baseball.
  6. I guess we all know who doesn't read the SLAM
  7. So, should I turn my TV on or not? I haven't seen a game in six weeks. It's been nice.

It's interesting how many big time athletes seem to have friends with ranches down my way.
  9. Or Reagan.
  10. You were comparing first half last year with first half this year. Same basic team, same manager, much different results. The conclusion is it's the manager's fault. While I believe that's a great first step, I started this thread after all, but it hides too many other problems. This shit show is bigger than just TLR. It's a three legged stool with players, front office, and coaching staff. They all have regressed and are failing beyond what could be expected from one year. As you noted the players are putting up much worse numbers. I also seriously wonder if Tony is experiencing diminished mental function over the last year. Stroke? Dementia? It's a private matter with the team but I would hope a condition of his continued employment is a full medical workup.
  11. Obviously they should have kept the manager from last year.
  12. He's like anyone who doesn't need the job and has been recognized as one of the best at that job. I don't think he fears getting fired, just because he'll survive.
  13. First professional photographer outside in 100° heat
  14. My mother in laws 90th birthday party is today. I will be spending four hours with approximately 75 octogenarians and I feel sorry for y'all who will watch this shitfest.
  15. I'll say it again, I don't even want to pay attention. Unlike most seasons I can't tell you who we play next. I haven't looked at the schedule in months. I'm as checked out and unresponsive as our manager.
  16. He should be rethinking his life choices
  17. I love the lineup. Day game double header. Rest everyone the first game. We need to get five or six games below .500 for that amazing September win streak.
  18. That's not luck. That is deliberate and careful roster building and bringing in a HoF manager. You can't leave this shit up to bind luck. You need a well orchestrated plan.
  19. Cubs have a bunch of runs they don't need today . . .
  20. Thanks for posting. That was fun. At first I was thinking wasn't he a bit porky, how did he get around the bases.
