  1. QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 07:05 AM) Does that mean it's a go? mm?! mmmm mm, mmm! Mmmm $$!!
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Inning pitched, era, whip, and batting average against is what i would look at. Except we aren't trying to sort out who is the best pitcher in baseball right now. This is the starting pitcher in a ceremonial All-Star game where the fans select the starting fielders. Why should pitcher be the only position where actual stats matter? Who do the fans want to see get the start? Usually, in America, we love the underdog, the Cinderella story, the kid out of no where who bursts on the scene. Give the ball to Garland.
  3. This is where the coaching staff makes all the difference. They are massaging the DH situation and the pitching staff. Hopefully they are pressing the right buttons. Big picture, we want the 11 or 12 best arms on the 25 man roster in whatever capacity.

    QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Don't we all? /supressing laughs while folks are sleeping. EDIT: I just had to say, you literally had me spitting out water on the monitor. Don't know why, but that struck the ol' funny bone in a major way. A red, white, and blue American Red neck, white t-shirt, and blue ribbon . . .
  5. Hmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmm!
  6. Isn't wins what's all about? I would rank Mark actually third of these guys. But seriously, isn't there a Red Sox or Yankee that could start?
  7. I think they will give the nod to Garland with another win or two. The hottest pitcher, on the best team, that is winning with great pitching. Makes for a good story and entertainment is what it's about. I would not have a complaint with any of the three. It's a nice honor for the player, but we're taking shades of greatness so far. It may also hinge a bit on how the rotation shapes up.
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) Ah, one day this offseason, we gots to go back and look at the few of us who were in Garland's corner for the longhaul. Beautiful seeing him pitch so well. Keep the walks down, and he'll be Ok. I'm thinking about makin' it out to the Sox game tomorrow. Go get 'em, Buehrle! I just searched my posts to be certain I remember my posts correctly. I said I would not be surprised if he would have the second highest win total on the team and that he was the 3rd or 4th starter by ability.
  9. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) Garland has beaten KC for his 12th victory each of the last four years. Really?

  11. The callers are morons on the post season show.
  12. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) brantley pciked Garland to start All star game gammons picked mark. and kruk pciked halladay All good picks. I wouldn't have an argument with any of those three. I just hope they limit the pitches and get everyone some work.
  13. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Confidante... author of Inferno of Certainty?? Stay out of the letters and slowly move back to the lab
  14. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) Dude what the f***, so just because you guys are superstitious I cant hope for a sweep? It's not like I'm guaranteeing it. Do you want me to never say the Sox will win then? I'll do it just so you guys all dont b**** about it, but common. where would baseball be without superstitions
  15. 22-5 vs. the AL Central. That is the kick ass YTD stat
  16. 12!! How many thought that would be a good season for Garland??
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) Can't go wrong either way, I'd be perfectly fine seeing Jon go complete I'd personally just like to see Dam get some work. Good moves by Oz.
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) 1) Jeff Brantley (I think) from ESPN berrates Ozzie for his use of his bullpen during a game in which the White Sox lose. As did almost everyone in the game thread. Oz f***ed that up. Having a game on national tv and something like that happening, all links together. I really doubt they had a meeting and decided because it's the Sox, they would run that special. They are just trying to put on good shows. And have a lot of hours to fill. Recent play vs. season long. Once you know what they are trying to judge it all makes sense. I love Toby Keith. Great artist. He's also on the wrong side of the Red River Rivalry. He's a huge Oklahoma fan They also interviewed Wayne Gretsky who was wearing a Sox jersey and recalled how he loved to follow the Sox's minor league affiliate in Edmonton. Should they ignore the other team? This is a national telecast.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Well good thing I'm managing and you're not LOL. Nice that OZ has some options.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) 100 pitches for Garland. I send him out there & give him the chance for a 3 hit shutout...anyone gets on I bring in Marte. I'm guessing that's exactly what OZ will do. Maybe even allow a second baserunner.
  21. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) I agree but i think Bmac needs to start in the minors then. Bmac isnt going to get any expiernce pitching every once and awhile in a situation where you need a long realiver. I could agree to that.
