The best team in baseball should have a starter and either Burhle or Garland should get the start. It's an exhibition game. I'm not too hung up on who is having a better season, etc. It's an exhibition game, not the actual Cy Young voting, etc. It's an exhibition game. I'd rather see an aging superstar one more time than a maybe here today gone tomorrow guy. But I think it's only an exhibition game.

If Bush nominates a moderate to slightly conservative, he'll have my respect and admiration. If he goes neanderthal, juts out his jaw, and plays wild west sheriff, I will not be happy. Bottom line, if conservatives and liberals are disappointed, it's about right.

Every season ebbs and flows. We were thisclose each of the last few seasons. I didn't think this was a major retooling, just a minor tweaking. It wasn't like we dumped every guy who could hit a 400 foot fly ball. What I was worried about was, I didn't see much in the way of batting average coming on board. Small/Smart ball is as much about marketing as anything. Remember the team got rid of a few fan favorites. They needed to sell the change, sell tickets, etc.
